Women Say They Will Also Target Los Angeles Afghan Embassy

by By Sara Cantrell - Afghan Wire News Wednesday, Sep. 13, 2006 at 2:40 AM

"America did not invent human rights. In a very real sense, it is the other way around. Human rights invented America." - President Jimmy Carter.

Following that credo, on September 11, 2006, American women handcuffed and chained themselves to the Afghan Embassy in Washington, DC to protest against Hamid Karzai's oppressive government. A spokeswoman stated that this was "just the start of demonstrations against the Afghan Embassy in Washington to protest President Karzai's illegal imprisonment of innocent Americans and treatment of Afghan women."

Women Say They Will ...
burka_redwhitblue_450x.jpg, image/jpeg, 450x641

American Women handcuffed and chained themselves to the Afghan Embassy at the moment the first plane hit the World Trade Center five years ago. They each had their own key hanging around their neck on a small cord. If police officers told them to un-cuff from the fence, they were going to ask him to explain why, and stand there in a line demanding to see Ambassador Jawad.

Instead they chained theirselves to the Embassy when Afghan security threatened them and said the Ambassador was not there and would not talk to them.

Shortly after handcuffing themselves to the embassy wearing burkas, Ambassador Jawad agreed to meet the women. He was there, and he did talk to them. According to sources inside the Afghan Embassy, one of the prime issues was the continued imprisonment of former Special Forces officers, Jack Idema and Captain Brent Bennett, who were found innocent in an appeals court trial in Kabul in 2005. They had been charged with entering the country illegal and wrongful detention of terrorist suicide bombers.

The Taliban executed women for wearing nail polish. A FREE THEM NOW spokeswoman said, "Mr. Hamid Karzai simply tortures them and imprisons them, not for nail polish, but for speaking out, divorce, adultery, sex outside of marriage, and many other things. Americans must never fear exercising the Constitutional rights paid for with American blood for more than 200 years." The women remained anonymous under the Burkas throughout the protest.

There is no greater symbol of the oppression and horror of Afghanistan than the Burka.

Afghanistan is the only country in the world in which the Burka is worn nationwide. Although it is also seen in some Afghan areas of Pakistan.

Speaking for FREE THEM NOW, the spokeswoman said "We demand justice, and if it takes a dozern Burkas surrounding the Afghan Embassy on September 11th 2006, then 300 Burkas surrounding the Afghan Embassy on October 12th, the anniversary of the first bomb being dropped on the Taliban in the war of liberation, and then 1000 more Burkas surrounding the Afghan Embassy on November 12, 2006, the anniversary of the American liberation of Kabul, then we will do it. But the terror and oppression must be stopped."

"When a woman wears a Burka she demonstrates her subservient submission to men. This is what Mr. Karzai wants. Women and men must submit to his total authority in his government. No court, no minister, no policeman, prosecutor, or official will disagree with Mr. Karzai, for if they do, they are fired immediately, and later arrested in many cases. Mr. Karzai has built a complete dictatorship under the very nose of the international community. His secret police run rampant with political arrests, and even run torture chambers just a few miles from Mr. Karzai's palace."

Afghan security was prepared to arrest the American women until photographers showed up from the Washington Post and Polaris Images. According to media sources, Afghan security officers also threatened photographers and argued with them to stop taking pictures.

Once camerman were there and refusing to stop photographing a senior Afghan official, Mr. Fazel Fazel, Embassy Political Officer, was quoted as saying, "God no, God no, don't let the press photograph American police touching women in Burkas." The DC Metro Police refused to interfere in what the DC Chief of Police called a peaceful expression protected under the First Amendment.

The women say they will target Afghan Embassies in Washington, New York City, London, and Los Angeles next.

9/11/2006- The First Demonstrations Take Place When American Women Chain and Handcuff Themselves to the Afghan Embassy in Washington to protest President Karzai's illegal imprisonment of innocent American Green Berets

On 10/12/06- 300 More Women will Chain Up to the Afghan Embassies in London and Washington.

On 11/12/2006- 1000 More Women will form a chain around the Afghan Embassies in London, Washington, and New York City. Each month it will grow until they hear our voices.

What's wrong, American Women?

by TW Thursday, Sep. 14, 2006 at 6:28 PM

This is what you get for believing the neocons' anti-Taliban PR, as if they were actually going to DO anything about Shari'a legal practice there. The US Empire doesn't go strafing and bombing its way into countries on the other side of the world in order to HELP **anybody**. This is believed only by contemptible corrupt complacent navel-gazing subdivision-inhabiting American-exceptionalism-believing asshole fuckwad FOOLS who barely qualify as Homo, far less sapiens. Since the US Empire first began exhibiting this aggressive tendency about 240 years ago, it has ALWAYS _invariably_ had one clear motive

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Wake the fuck up already. You have Satan's heart pumping away right there in your living rooms and an icepick right there in your hands. Grow a fucking spine and do what's right for once. Hamid Kharzai and his stupid embassies are NOT the real issue. You're just copping out again.

Oh, and quit imagining it's just about 'womyn'

Elementary, Watson: Western imperialism

by TW Thursday, Sep. 14, 2006 at 8:49 PM

27 years ago, Afghanistan had a secular progressive democratic government very interested in bringing the country into the modern world, with everything that implies for women's rights. Unfortunately for them, they were aligned with the major power on their border, the Soviet Union, so the planet-gobbling Satan on the other side of the world decided they had to go. The Taliban, Osama bin Laden, and Al CIAda are all direct consequences of this demonic US intrigue

A very similar argument can be made for Iran

The Islamic extremism that is considered so menacing today has its roots in a pan-Arab underground called the Islamic Brotherhood, which was essentially a sleeper cell of WWII-style fascism kept alive in the Middle East BY THE CIA all through the '40s, '50s, and '60s. This way, if the Soviet Union had gained ground in this part of the world, the crypto-fascist West would have a ready-made underground of anti-communist maniacs waiting to wage guerrilla warfare against them. The Cold War lingo for such groups was Stay-Behind units.

http://www.navyseals.com/community/articles/article.cfm?id=4328
Chest-pounding right-wing idiots are the ones circulating this article. They're apparently too stupid to grasp its real meaning

The US has had ample opportunity to foster secular-modernist politics in the Middle East, which has been eager to embrace modernity, and this would have brought great benefit to the women there. The US has instead, at every opportunity, reinforced any tendency for these countries to remain/become medieval, barbaric, politically fragmented from each other, and thus collectively powerless

http://tinyurl.com/jdcyq

The US and Europe, i.e. the West as a whole, have been conspiring against this entire sweep of societies in the classic colonial manner for over 90 years, and these people are far from stupid. They know their own history far better than CNN has taught it to you. They know exactly what's going on; they know they're under a steady siege to destroy their very cultural identity, which is what colonizers *always* seek to do. Of all the root causes of rising Islamic fundamentalism, this one is the BIGGY. Religious fundamentalism is a classic response to cultural assault from without, just as it has been in the American South where many of the same arguments also hold true (I'll save the Civil War lesson for another day).

In short, the #1 problem with the world today -- as has been true for centuries -- is the West's determination to stick its ruthless thieving colonialist paws in everybody else's business.

Most of the people of the world are quite powerless to do anything about this

YOU. are not.

YOU. live RIGHT HERE in the belly of The Beast. Are you an enemy of Pure Evil or are you its friend? Do you HAVE a soul or are you a monster too? Your cushy tit-fed life has been purchased with the blood and dead babies of those other people... Oh yes it has. Ward Churchill had it absolutely right. Having unwittingly stolen the bounty of your own life from the misery of theirs, you owe them the ultimate debt. And you WILL pay. One way or another you will ALL PAY. Justice may be deferred, but it will not be cheated altogether...

Ask yourself: "why do I hate my grandchildren?" And as you ask this, reflect on Moloch, the TRUE hidden deity of your Western heritage, to whom believers sacrificed their own children by hurling them alive into an open furnace, just as you are witlessly doing to your own grandchildren...

We are a people under Moloch's thrall. But no one of us HAS to be.

"missing your point"

by TW Thursday, Sep. 14, 2006 at 9:32 PM

Yeah, I can see that. It's so much more fun to be self-righteous about societies you haven't the vaguest fucking clue about (throwing genital mutilation into a discussion of Afghanistan, for example) than it is to examine your own culture's role in their pathologies, which I've laid out for you in detail

Oh, I saw Loftus' weird cognitive dissonance

by TW Saturday, Sep. 16, 2006 at 5:52 PM

The fundamental information Loftus delivered is that the CIA has nurtured and aided and abetted and advanced Islamic extremism from the very beginning, which is what I said to you in the first place, Thick Boy

Loftus makes no denial or apology for the CIA's past transgressions.

Quite the opposite. He details those transgressions and then challenges the current members of the intelligence community to set a higher standard for their behavior.

TW, It is clear that you'd like to believe that those who have circulated the above quoted article are "stupid".

But just because you want to believe it does not make it so.

It may not be convenient to your cause, but Loftus does not deny, he educates. His intent is that past transgression not be repeated.

That the CIA utilized Moslem assets in the cold war is a well documented fact. That the utilization of these assets ultimately led to the military defeat of the Soviet Union in Afghanistan and the subsequent bankruptcy of the USSR is also a well documented fact. At the time, it was a choice between the lesser of two weevils.

Evading a direct question is much WORSE style

by TW Sunday, Sep. 17, 2006 at 3:16 PM

For the second time: So then how is it you imagine Loftus' statement overturns what I said when I brought the article up in the first place?

"It is clear that you'd like to believe that those who have circulated the above quoted article are "stupid"."

Uh-huh, so you're one of these right-wing meatheads yourself, aren't you 'Maxim? Come to think of it, you evaded that question as well

"...Loftus does not deny."

Oh yeah he does. He denies the full scope and scale of US "National Security" underworld's culpability in the trajectory the Middle east has taken over the past 60 years, just like you do. He'll admit it was a mistake, but he won't admit this mistake's full enormity or that of the "moral of the story."

"His intent is that past transgression not be repeated."

No it isn't. If it were, his concluding message would be "hey US Empire: quit arrogantly fucking with the rest of the world. Just BACK OFF. They're not *quite* as subhumanly stupid as you think and they WILL eventually set their sights on the Real Enemy."

I don't see where he concluded anything of the sort. Why don't you show me. To the contrary, his message seems to be "we obviously SHOULD continue to arrogantly fuck with people, and they obviously ARE as subhumanly stupid as we think, we just have to tighten up our game a little"

Uh, this is the same sing-song pep-talk the spooks have been yodeling to themselves for decades. They're like heroin addicts talking themselves up to blow the next syringe-load into their veins. "Naw, I'm not a slave to this shit, I just gotta shoot up *smarter*, that's it!" Any decent person will be mortified by having any association with these maniacs. Loftus is nuts and so are you. You both have selfish motives for remaining blissfully ignorant of the irreducibly evil character of the US Empire's cryptocolonial global program -- a program people **can** **have** and **will** figure out. Clue: Hitler wasn't the only one dreaming of "global domination."

US State Department Director of Policy Planning George Kennan laid it out plain as day right after WWII:

"Furthermore, we have about 50% of the world's wealth but only 6.3% of its population. This disparity is particularly great as between ourselves and the peoples of Asia. In this situation, we cannot fail to be the object of envy and resentment. Our real task in the coming period is to devise a pattern of relationships which will permit us to maintain this position of disparity without positive detriment to our national security. To do so, we will have to dispense with all sentimentality and day-dreaming; and our attention will have to be concentrated everywhere on our immediate national objectives. We need not deceive ourselves that we can afford today the luxury of altruism and world-benefaction...

"In the face of this situation we would be better off to dispense now with a number of the concepts which have underlined our thinking with regard to the Far East. We should dispense with the aspiration to “be liked” or to be regarded as the repository of a high-minded international altruism. We should stop putting ourselves in the position of being our brothers' keeper and refrain from offering moral and ideological advice. We should cease to talk about vague and—for the Far East—unreal objectives such as human rights, the raising of the living standards, and democratization. The day is not far off when we are going to have to deal in straight power concepts. The less we are then hampered by idealistic slogans, the better."

And wow were these words ever borne out! Our campaign against China (of which the Korean and Vietnam wars were just two components of MANY) was another World War in itself. But hey, why am I telling you this, as if you would grasp the vast injustices it summons? I might as well be speaking Martian to a bullfrog.

"That the utilization of these assets ultimately led to the military defeat of the Soviet Union in Afghanistan and the subsequent bankruptcy of the USSR is also a well documented fact. At the time, it was a choice between the lesser of two weevils."

See, you obviously subscribe to the right-wing meathead history-in-a-can narrative of the twentieth century doled out to you all nice and shrink-wrapped by Reader's Digest, etc. And you obviously think you have A RIGHT to fuck with whole national populations on the other side of the planet and to dictate whether the Soviet Union gets to live or die -- as if you have anything better to offer the world

I don't believe any of that.

I think the historical truth is simpler than this and yet more elusive (for lack of accurate retelling), and that it does _NOT_ set you meatheads up on a pedestal as the shining heroes of the world. Talk about motivated conclusions!

I think this country has behaved like an asshole middle-school bully swaggering around the schoolyard shaking down all the little crippled kids for pocket change, and I am **MORTIFIED** by my association with this obscene criminal campaign. When I look at all the rah-rah-USA assholes who can justify it to themselves, I see people with a fried-out hole in their brains where the wiring for honesty and decency should be.

They could figure this stuff out and achieve moral grace on these subjects. Anybody can. It doesn't take intellectual brilliance or access to special information. Everything's right out in the open, plain as day.

What it takes is not having that fried out hole in your brain. Such Americans seem to be vanishingly rare.

We do have something  better to offer - it's called FREEDOM.

The Soviet empire had no first amendment, guarantying all citizens the right to speak freely without interference by the government - even when they are speaking out against the government.

Just the opposite, in fact.  If you were a resident of the Soviet Union and you expressed anti-government views you'd likely have either been disappeared or given a long vacation in a Siberian Gulag.

If the Soviets had won the war none of us would have the freedoms you enjoy and take for granted.

So it's not so much a "Right" as it is a responsibility - to preserve freedom.

Oh give me a break!

by TW Sunday, Sep. 17, 2006 at 9:48 PM

You have no fucking vague idea or interest in what the average Russian's experience of his country was like. You've just sucked down mountains of relentless PROPAGANDA all your life that have left you thinking you know. And here you are still imagining it's any of your business

FREEDOM??? hahahahahahahahahaaaa!! Gawd what an asshole! Do you have a career? A wife? Kids? Do you own a house? If so, you're not free you fucked up fool. Privileged maybe, but not free. That's a HUGE distinction. The whole trouble with Western men is they've been so drained of Lingam, the male element, both culturally and eugenically -- that is, they've been made so "civilized" over the past ten thousand years -- that they're really just women with dicks now. Give them a little privilege and security and they don't mind even the STARK absence of freedom. This would not work on an archetypal male, for whom Freedom -- I mean the real thing -- is right up there with air, water, and food. He would live alone in a bark hut in a swamp or forfeit his life in an act of defiance rather than live the American work-a-drone life. Of the few Western men who still embody the type, most are in one of three places: 1) prison 2) elite military units 3) the ruling class. Among the chattel-slave ranks (99.9% of "free" Americans) there is no place for such people

I know you have no fucking idea what I mean. "Freedom" is just a word to you. You think it's the same thing as privilege and personal wealth. This is how blind and styoopid you are.

There is no government on earth that offers REAL freedom to its people. The freedom of individuals is the antithesis of why governments exist at all

And as for your hallowed responsibility to "bring freedom to the people of the world," that was the cover story of your idiot ilk for what you did to hundreds of Native American cultures, the Philippines, Panama, Hawaii, Central America and the Caribbean all through the 'gunboat diplomacy' era, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Grenada, the Dominican Republic, CUBA, Greece, the former Yugoslavian states, Brazil, Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, the Congo, Iran, Qassem's Iraq, Afghanistan (the first time), Angola, Mozambique, Ortega's Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala... I'm just getting started

Every clomp of your imperial foot, your mealy-mouthed talk of "freedom" was just an excuse to STEAL STEAL STEAL and destroy those people's hopes of ever calling their land their own. To this day most of them are still living under some of the most repressive dictatorships the world has ever seen, all of them snuggled right up to Uncle Sam and doing exactly as they're told -- or else

You could give less of a FUCK about bringing "freedom" to the world's people, first and foremost because you don't even fucking know what the word means. What you THINK it means -- your own personal experience of wallowing in splendor -- oh yeah, that has EVERYTHING to do with US foreign policy. That's where all your largesse comes from. Your SOUL is just too meager and mean to figure it out

America has always been a mecca for greedy scum, 'Maxim

by TW Monday, Sep. 18, 2006 at 6:30 PM

They heard they could own land here. This was their cultural concept of wealth. They turned their backs on everything soulful people care about in order to pursue it. All they had to do to realize their dream was flop their dicks in Satan's mouth and grunt and twitch and blow their nuts down his throat as they slashed the heads off Indian babies, women, old men. What a bargain (if you don't have a soul)!

Yeah, that's EXACTLY how evil they were

that's EXACTLY how evil Americans ARE to this day

The people who have swarmed to America to pursue their concept of wealth have always been abominations.

This explains America's character _TOTALLY_

I know about eastern European immigrants extremely well, better than I will ever share with you. The generation that actually immigrated circa 1900 to 1950, most know enough to be turned off by the kind of greed they see running berserk here, but their kids? Forget it. There is no rah-rah-USA asshole more extreme than a first-generation American. Martha Stewart for example.

The eastern Europeans who've immigrated since 1950 have mostly been greedy scum straight off the boat.

What on earth do "my progressive comrades" (I assume you mean the Bolsheviks) have to do with political events of the year 1906?

By the way, 'Maxim, I am NOT a communist. In their way, I think they're as naïve as you. My "political" philosophy stretches back into the past 5,000 times as far.

Yeah, that's your "Big Gift" to the world

by TW Tuesday, Sep. 19, 2006 at 7:05 AM

Mass-murder followed by epic perpetual theft.

That's how it's been with you "Shining American Heroes" since 1608 when you first smiled in Squanto's face, thanking him ever-so-sweetly for his life-saving gift of corn, squash, and turkey, and then slammed a broadsword up his ass the second he turned around, dealing him his inevitable punishment for the grave crime of not recognizing Satan Incarnate upon seeing Him

And what you did to Squanto, that's what you're now doing to THE PLANET ITSELF, to the Green God that is your *true* CREATOR.

Of course. It could hardly be otherwise:

Murdering God is what Satan's all about.

Be proud, 'Maxim. Wrap yourself in that flag and stand tall.

So your "blacksmith" great-great-granddad was an overseer in one of the tsar's factories, huh? He sure as fuck wasn't one of the workers.

The Romanovs got EXACTLY what they deserved. If only such sweet justice were not so rare

Nope, no "Overseer"

He never worked in the tsar's factories that we're aware of.

Just a simple tradesman in a small village.

He shod horses, fixed wagon wheels... that kind of stuff. Nothing exciting. Sorry.

Came to the USA, found another small town and set up shop there doing the same thing.
