The farm is an amazing example of what people can do--provide for themselves and take care of each other. We have power and the state's excessive use of force demonstrates that power of which they are afraid. We must keep trying to figure out ways to fight together.

Social Responsibility - not part of Capitalism?by Jody Saturday, Jun. 17, 2006 at 4:21 AMThe land may have been purchased, but it seems irresponsible on the part of the developer to not assist in the relocation of 350 families. A powerful man with the means to purchase & develop such a piece of land should have the means or connections to help locate new land for these people.They tried to offer money for the land they were on, and he refused. It shouldn't have to be a law to protect these people - it should be his own conscience speaking to him.
