I spoke to a friend of mine by phone who is at the protests outside the South Central Farm about an hour ago. This will be kinda vague, so...
1) The sheriffs had already broken open the lockboxes that people were using to lock themselves down to prevent their removal from the farm.
2) About 10 people had been dragged out, and two people were sent away in ambulances. We don't know what happened to them or how they are doing.
3) Bulldozers were lined up outside the fences, ready to come in.
The farmers were still asking people to come down to the farm (41st and Long Beach Ave), or MLK and Alameda, or to go protest down at city hall. Also, to call the mayor, Jan Perry, and the sheriff's office to complain.

WHY:
For over three weeks supporters have been onsite at the South Central Farm, the nation’s largest urban farm, which serves as a 14-acre oasis in the middle of L.A.’s concrete jungle. This 14-year-old community gem functions as an active farm for more than 350 families and fills a local need for fresh produce, green space and a safe haven in a poverty-stricken region of Los Angeles. The farmers, community volunteers and celebrity supporters are in a daily state of peril anxiously awaiting the farm’s fate.
“The South Central Farm is a gem in the Los Angeles landscape. It supplies local communities with fresh, organic produce, gives children a safe environment to play and learn in, and provides a successful example of urban sustainability for the rest of the world to follow…”

URGENT: South Central Farmers assaulted by Sheriffs
This morning around 5:00 AM a large number of Los Angeles
County Sheriffs surrounded the 14 acre South Central Farm
and broke into the perimeter. In a military style operation, the
sheriffs immediately began rounding up and handcuffing
the farmers and their supporters which includes women and
children. Some of the farmers have chained themselves
around trees and, at this moment, the sheriffs are using
chainsaws to cut the trees to arrest the the farmers. Other
farmers placed their hands into barrels filled with
concrete and the sheriffs are using jackhammers to release
the farmers to arrest them. Large crowds have
gathered in surrounding streets. More later. . . .
my friend tried to goto the farm but it is way to hard to goto the farm.
