Annenberg Foundation Offers To Purchase Property
LOS ANGELES, June 7, 2006 – Encampment looking to offer a peaceful resolution if developer and city council will come to the table in negotiating the final sale.
“The Annenberg Foundation is in this game, and has been working very hard with Ralph Horowitz to find resolution and we very much hope that a resolution will be found. We’ve got the funding for it, and we’ve already made an offer to Mr. Horowitz to purchase this property.” states Adolpho Nodal, Project General Manager for Not A Cornfield, A Project of the Annenberg Foundation. This offer is the cornerstone of The Annenberg Foundation’s intention towards green environmental rejuvenation of South Central L.A.

Maybe now Ralph Horowitz will have the good PR sense to drop his lawsuit against the SCF and take his $11 million profit & his toys and go play somewhere else.

John Quigly is a fraud. He portrays himself as a tree activist, but while sitting up that oak tree for so long just to protect ONE TREE, he never took advantage of the oppurtunity to bring to light that at every second, an acre of rain forest is destroyed. There are quite alot of trees in an acre on rain forest. No wonder main stream thinks these activists are a bunch of kooks.

What John Quigley is doing is commendable and selfless. There are huge environmental problems facing our planet. John is continuing to put his body and soul into protecting a precious piece of land in the middle of South Central. Perhaps his actions will encourage individuals who might not have looked at this issue at all to begin looking at the big picture. All actions create a ripple and what John is doing is heroic.

i think it is funny that indymedia when out of it's way to portray the property developer as the "bay-guy" when in reality he was offering the land to the south central farmers for a cheaper price than he was offering it to everyone else for. PEACE

The Los Angeles County Sheriffs bared the press and legal council from entering the farm. They have broken the constitutional rights of the farmers. Let us said a message to the county that such things will not be tolerated.

These folks were in a tree, in Suuth Central and the Crips and Bloods did not use them for target practice? Interesting.
Seriously...some of thse folks need to get a life...or if they wanted to make a REAL DIFFERENCE, buy land there, stay on that property and improve the area by hiring locals. But that would be logical and Hollyweird is not about logic.
