RED ALERT!! Encampment and tree sit to resist the eviction and save the South Central Farm

by FYI Thursday, May. 25, 2006 at 2:33 PM

RED ALERT!! Encampment and tree sit to resist the eviction and save the South Central Farm...

Encampment and tree sit to resist the eviction and save the South Central Farm has begun!! The L.A. County Sheriffs Department has received notice to execute the eviction of the farmers and supporters at the South Central Farm. The Farm and farmers need your help now!!
If you are willing to encamp with us our legal team will offer counsel and you will also be given a, "Know Your Rights" Training as you will be risking arrest. There is also a Unity Principles form which all participants in the encampment must sign in order to be part of the community tree sit/ encampment. The greater the numbers encamped increases our chances of success. Those who cannot stay in the farm can still help us by coming to daily vigils, becoming legal observers and bringing supplies to those inside. Bring a chair or anything you would need to be an active witness.

The time has come to show the politicians, developer and global community that we are serious about environmental justice in South Central Los Angeles. The greening of L.A. starts with the preservation of the South Central Farm. Bombard the local officials with calls and emails to save this oasis. We want a livable city!! We want the Farm!!

FYI: The Trust for Public Land is no longer fundraising for us. The contract has expired and we are once again standing alone defending our dignity.

 How can you help??????

Enjoy you stay in jail

by - Friday, May. 26, 2006 at 5:26 AM

After you are arrested, I hope you enjoy your stay in jail. LA County Jail is the largest mental institution in the country. The number of psychotic and violent inmates is staggering. And, of course, it is home to hundreds of gang-bangers, drug dealers, and other criminals. Space is VERY tight, so expect to share intimate space with many, many people. You will have no privacy. You will have nowhere to hide or get away from the violence and sexual abuse that is rampant in these places. This is especially bad for the women and young men. But, then again, you ARE so committed to expropriating someone else's property, so I guess it'll be worth it. (P.S. There are no condoms in jail).

The above poster's name is "Steve"--he has been humiliated multiple times

by Just another right wing troll--irrrelevant Friday, May. 26, 2006 at 5:33 AM

He was laughed off of indybay after he accidentally revealed that he was fired from a good union job. Now he hates unions.
He's also ran from facts. He was regularly slapped down after regurgitating his right wing nutjob AM radio talking points and being confronted w/ facts to the contrary.
He is a joke.

Continuous ad hominems are a sign of intellectual bankruptcy

by Scapegoated Jew Friday, May. 26, 2006 at 5:52 AM

I'll wager that most users don't give a crap about your feelings toward "-" based on your dislike of his conduct on Indybay. That you failed to back up your irrelevant allegation that he was fired from a union job is itself irrelevant to the subject. You've offered nothing but irrelevant off topic ad hominems. If you insist on commenting about his input, then either disagree with points he's making based on their merits or lack thereof, or hold your peace.

Done that before and he runs and hides

by he runs from facts, there's no point Friday, May. 26, 2006 at 5:57 AM

There's no point trying to engage him, he just runs away like the coward that he is. Typcial right winger.

He's under no obligation to engage you debate

by Scapegoated Jew Friday, May. 26, 2006 at 6:27 AM

You're feigning stupidity pretending he must do more than post one comment or more about articles. He doesn't have to engage you debate at all. No user needs you to engage him either.
Who knows what the future holds, but meanwhile the editors aren't censoring his every post as you itch to see done. We know it gets you, no point trying to deny that.

Must feel good to marginalize your site

by Scapegoated Jew Friday, May. 26, 2006 at 6:54 AM

... and render it irrelevant. I had never seen an Indymedia editor boast about "winning" when the price for that entailed crippling his own site by eliminating all the hidden comments and disbanding the hidden section. Even an egomaniac "winner" like 'nessie' has never gone that far to weaken his own site. How many other IMCs have taken your step? Count 'em for us. Back in the 19th century they would have made you an object of scorm and mockery for life like branding you a coward and poltroon for trying to boast about winning on an uneven playing field.

Even reading your fake boast that you only wanted "the filth and liars to be gone", I still see in the last few days comments being posted by "liars" in the "Palestine" section. Apparently you're desperate to put up a facade of normalcy to prolong Indybay's diminishing existence, otherwise you would have deleted all those comments immediately. So, even your bragging is in vain and laughed at by those knowing the facts.

Nobody cares if Steve couldn't or wouldn't engage. Here you've got almost no power and influence on editorial policy. How does feel to be irrelevant after you've helped made yourself so?

Sounds like you declare victory and run

by Scapegoated Jew Friday, May. 26, 2006 at 7:20 AM

You began feeling the heat of the fact-based assertions I made above, like:

I had never seen an Indymedia editor boast about "winning" when the price for that entailed crippling his own site by eliminating all the hidden comments and disbanding the hidden section. Obviously you're ducking these points because you know yourself just how pathetic you are -- you couldn't refute any of these points. And we know you eagerly would have if you could.
Another indication of your despair is your futile insistence on pretending I'm the spammer "Brad Sellars". Nobody buys it.
You may go out now and do "real activism", i.e. pelt riot police with stick bombs and fire crackers.

What a maroon!

by - Friday, May. 26, 2006 at 10:28 AM

Well, I don't know who the rather inhinged person is who wrote that my name is "Steve". Sorry, I don't know any "Steve"...well, I do, but that's not my name. Union job? I don't think so, honey. I wouldn't be caught dead in a union. Too much corruption, too many Lefty losers. More to the point, I don't "debate" people here. I post my opinions and leave yours to you. I guess the poor thing wants a fight or a shoving match. Listen, hon, you can find all you want of that at an ANSWER meeting. You don't need to bring it here. Now, grow up, calm down, and STFU.

You don't debate because you can't coward

by You are a right wing shill Friday, May. 26, 2006 at 10:39 AM

You are an irrelevant right wing shill. Pretend you're not "Steve" if you want--we all know who you are.
You can't back up your shallow regurgitated right wing AM-nut radio talking points so you run and hide.
You are dismissed.
P.S. I.E. Claiming that unions only make up 8% of the country.

typical Zionist ploy

by bunk logic Friday, May. 26, 2006 at 4:21 PM

>Even an egomaniac "winner" like 'nessie'

An ad hominem is not a rebuttal. It's a way to change the subject.

>has never gone that far to weaken his own site.

This begs the question. It remains to be seen whether not showing hidden comments weakens or strengthens a site. All the data aren't in yet, so it's too soon to tell. It is difficult to imagine, though, how a site that gets caught lying and covering up so many times could get any weaker.

mayor antonio, use eminent domain to save the garden - please!

by kirk james murphy, m.d. Friday, May. 26, 2006 at 7:38 PM
everest_90405@yahoo.com

mayor antonio -

thank you for representing the great city of los angeles.

you must be very confident of your skills, wanting to be mayor and take over the school district.

if you can't be bothered to care about how people feed their kids, why should anyone believe you about the schools?

you can set in motion eminent domain proceedings to save the community garden in south la.

i know, antonio, coming out for the people against a land speculator takes balls - and ends political careers in la.

so tell us, antonio - if you can't take the heat for saving a community's pantry, why are you asking us to believe you can save a massive schoold district?
