had fun.....until i almost got my ass kicked (for being white) on my way to mac arthur park. i decided it was time to go home. i just wish this movent would be a little more open to people who may not be ethnic but are sympathetic to the cause. got good pics though....just wish i couldve gotten more : )

Nice blend of shots! Could you explain what you mean by you almost got your ass kicked? I am a tall, blond-headed white guy and took over 300 photos from the rally from the early afternoon well into the night while walking the entire distance in both marches without a single person giving me even the hint of a problem.

By the way, I haven’t yet posted my photos anyplace, as I am still sifting through them. If you wish to see my work, which I think shows a side to these protests that nobody else has managed to capture, email me and I will give you the direct link as soon as it is put up.

as far as me almost getting beat up: it happened twice. it was probably just my uncanny abiltiy to attract boneheads. if there are hostile people around they seem to be drawn to me. dont know why. i know you cant judge a whole movement on a few bad apples but i just decided (the second time) things were a little sketchy for me at that point. a truck of a bout 5 guys pulled up to me at a cross walk waving mexican flags in my face and one of them started yelling "viva mexico @#$%" at me over and over. i just aggreed and waited for the light to change when his buddies started trying to convince him to "kick his white ass". its not like i look like a yuppie or some kinda wierdo malitia man....im just a dude with a camera. kinda scary. oh well. doesnt discourage me in the long run, ill be back. maybe next time people will be a little more accepting.
