_______________________________________________________________

We are living in extreme times. Where the rulers of U.S. society have wild ambitions to be the modern day Roman Empire. Where no country will be allowed to get in a position to look like it may one day think about challenging the imperialist might and "right" of the U.S. to dominate all regions of the world. Their "war on terror" is a war for empire. They have killed over 100,000 in Iraq. In a war based on straight up lies. They are openly and arrogantly torturing people around the world. They are locking people up indefinitely -- deporting them -- without trials -- on the say so of "W". Spying on people without warrants. They are promising to take away the right of birth control from women. They are ungluing the way this society has been cemented together over the decades and are attempting to re-cement it in a fascist way. Will this new glue hold things together as they plan? Already this whole direction is extremely upsetting to millions and millions of people. Things could potentially, suddenly, become unglued and millions and millions could be in the streets saying: "I would rather die than live one more day in the direction that the fascist program of 'W' and company are dragging society." Out of this extreme shit it is a possibility that we could be faced with the chance to bring an extreme revolutionary solution to this rapidly moving situation...

In this situation the revolutionary communist tour has hit DC. Spreading straight-up revolution and communism -- unadulterated by nationalism and reformism -- and challenging those at the base of society to step forward and become emancipators of humanity....

What kind of leadership do we need for this revolution? How do you judge revolutionary leadership? Is it based on nationality/race or should it be based on a vision of where we need to go and what we need to do to get out of this nightmare of a system and bring into reality our dreams of a better world?

IN OUR TALKS WE WILL ADDRESS THESE AND MANY MORE QUESTIONS

CLYDE YOUNG: In 1990, the Revolutionary Worker published a lengthy interview with Clyde Young, referring to him as Comrade X in that interview. As a teenager, he served time in juvenile "correctional institutions" and while serving a lengthy prison sentence he became a revolutionary -- leading prison rebellions and other political activity. He was influenced by the revolutionary leaders and movements of the 1960s, including Malcolm X, George Jackson and the Black Panther Party. He was also greatly influenced by Mao and the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution in China. Upon his release from prison, Clyde Young met Bob Avakian and recognized in him unique and special qualities as a leader and also his enormous sense of humor. Clyde Young's writings for the revolutionary press range from essays on Martin Luther King and the Vietnam War, Muhammad Ali and boxing to a major analysis of demographic changes, "Since the 60s: Trends of Impoverishment, Oppression, and Class Polarization in the Black Nation."

JOE VEALE: Joe Veale is the spokesperson for the Los Angeles branch of the RCP. Joe arrived in L.A. during the '92 Rebellion determined to link up with the courageous fighters there and fuse their determination to confront injustice with the science of MLM and the cause of communist revolution. Joe is a veteran of the Black Panther Party.

Sure, here in Long Beach we have many fine clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, pschiatric wards, and drug stores that can fill prescriptions for virtually any anti-psychotic drug. This is the place your you, without a doubt. Don't get into any confrontations with the Long Beach Police Department, though - they are even more psycho than you are.
