FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
A MINUTEMAN GOES TO WASHINGTON
“SECURE AMERICA’S BORDERS NOW!” PETITION NATIONWIDE DRIVE, VISITS TO SENATORS’ OFFICES
(PHOENIX, AZ) April 12, 2006 – The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps announced today a cross country “Secure America’s Borders Now!” petition drive by Minuteman volunteer Tony Dolz, a naturalized American citizen from Cuba. The tour will feature stops at state offices of United States Senators to deliver the Minuteman message of a secure America, with copies of thousands of activist petitions for border control.
Dolz will drive a “Minuteman Van” as a LEGAL immigrant from California to Washington, D.C., meeting fellow Minutemen and supporters, and gathering additional petition signatures to deliver to the White House and Congress. The two-week swing is part of nationwide Minuteman efforts urging President Bush and Congress to protect our nation by immediately placing reserve military units on the border. The petition also calls on the Senate to follow the lead of the House of Representatives by passing legislation to secure our borders through fencing, technology and a massive increase in Border Patrol agents—without guest worker amnesty programs for illegal aliens.
Dolz invites all those who would like to participate in this effort to meet him at his stops at Senate offices throughout the country, sign the petition, take copies to gather signatures of friends and family, and to call into talk radio shows all over America. Loyal American countrymen of all immigrant forebears and national origin need to voice their outrage at the recent arrogant demands for amnesty by those illegally in our country, and the U.S. Senate’s careless disregard for our national security and sovereignty in their maneuverings to provide a wholesale sell-out of American citizenship to illegal migrants.
The petition drive will begin Thursday, April 13th with stops at the Los Angeles offices of California senator Diane Feinstein. The tour will proceed east to the Las Vegas, Nevada office of Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid on Friday, April 14th. A visit to Sen. John McCain’s office in Phoenix, Arizona is scheduled for Saturday, April 15th.
Further tour stops will be announced as the tour progresses. The petition drive is expected to arrive in our nation’s capital in about two weeks time—as the U.S. Senate reconvenes.
A copy of the petition, which already has garnered over 8,500 signatures, is available at
http://www.minutemanhq.com The petition is available online so that those unable to join the Minuteman tour in person can add their names.

I thought jimbo gilchirst said they have 240 million supportter. Where are they?
From the inside I never saw no 240 million supporters. I hardly ever saw 240 together at once.
...due to the fact they are the results of multiple generations of incest, bestiality, and necrophelia. God Bless the USA!
Could someone proved me with a link where Gilchrist said he had 240 million supporters? I have no idea where this quote comes from. All I know is that Jammer and John Earl keep repeating it.
It reminds me of the myth that Al Gore said he invented the internet. Gore never said that. If Gilchrist actually said that he had 240 million supporters it was pretty stupid of him. I kow a lot of people who have no idea who the Minutemen even are.
“If the Senate refuses to move at the request of 240 million Americans, then we will move them out of office – one by one or en masse,” he said. “I really don't care if people in Washington don't like Jim Gilchrist. It's not about me – it's about our country.”
So Gilchrist never said that 240 million American's supported the minutemen. He said that 240 million Americans want the Senate to do something about illegal immigration or they'll be voted out. Jammer and John Earl have been misquoting him. Not that it really matters.
I doubt that 240 mil. american wants the undocumented to be deported, wants the border to be biult.
If Gilchrist meant that, he should have been more clear. He said the word "we" which by grammar would mean him and those with him.
According to the paper, Gilchrist said.
“If the Senate refuses to move at the request of 240 million Americans, then we will move them out of office – one by one or en masse,” he said. “I really don't care if people in Washington don't like Jim Gilchrist. It's not about me – it's about our country.”
When Gilchrist says "we," I think he is saying "We Americans" not "We Minutemen."
And obviously 240 million American's are not in favor of deporting all the illegals or building a wall, but then Gilchrist doesn't say that either.
But who is Gilchrist to assume a role of representation for those 240 million people, and assume their support? Who is Barbara Coe to say that anyone who doesn't support Gilchrist is a traitor? There are plenty of people who want to secure the borders but want no affiliation with Gilchrist.
Gilchrist never said that he represents 240 million Americans.
I don't know what Barbara Coe said but you've proven yourself to be an unreliable source.
She said it at their anniversay thing at the Mariott in Irvine. You can hear Gilchrist's words for yourself in the video clip. He basically said "we have 240 million supporters." If he needs to clarify on that, he's more than welcome to.
