The largest demo in LA history may occur on Saturday.
The largest demo in LA history may occur on Saturday. The messages will be dominated by the organizations and politicians. Their voices are not enough. If you come across an interesting story to relate, or have an interesting story about immigration, the Sensenbrenner bill, impressions about the march, or the growth of the police state, please prepare it and share it on Indymedia. It's important that the march be documented, by the participants. The stories must be shared, to build up a body of knowledge, created by and for those most affected. It's especially important that women and immigrants speak up. There are plenty of American men on Indymedia sites; they need more diversity. One easy way to get stories is to record audio. Some versions of the iRiver player record. There are microphones for the iPod that cost around $30 to $35 and record. Or record to audio tape or video tape and feed the recording into your computer sound card (you can use Sound Recorder) to record it. Encode the audio to MP3 or OGG and upload it. If you need to edit the audio, get this free program called Audacity, and it'll help you edit audio with cut and paste. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Why don't the Minutemen show up downtown on Saturday at Olympic and Broadway at say 11AM and hold their tantrum/ counter-protest there? Instead they're gonna be in Temecula 100 miles away. That says alot.

The lowball estimate for participation in this march is 200,000.
The high estimate is 3 MILLION.
People are coming from as far away as Chicago, Tennessee, New Mexico and Texas.
It would take Dozens of reporters and photographers to properly cover this.
The photo is what the demo in Chicago looked like.
The march in LA Saturday will be MUCH bigger.

Yet I'm sure the mainstream media like FOX, CNN, and MSNBC will hardly even mention it on their tv broadcasts. Instead it's gonna be freaking Winona Judd on Larry King Live for the 37th time and a 15 minute special on the last cellphones and gadgets. And comercials, don't forget those.

You might not think the Spanish speaking media is "mainstream" but they are #1 in Los Angeles and other cities.

I didn't have them in mind and yes I would think they'd cover the march this Saturday. I've seen more persistent presence from them than other networks at Costa Mesa meetings and related events I've witnessed in person.

hello there, Long time no see! How are you? The protest tomorrow, Saturday, March 25, might be the largest protest ever in LA. The same protest in Chicago, as you probably know, drew between 300,000 to 500,000 people in the streets. Unfortunately the Independent media and the mainstream media didn't get any pictures from higher grounds needed to evaluate the numbers. In LA the organizers predict that about 500,000 are going to show up. Even if the figure is lower than that, it might be the largest protest in Los Angeles history. It is important that we get a picture from higher ground as a proof that the march was a big success. If you are going there tomorrow to take picture, please check this satelite picture with those two parking lot on top of those 2 buildings. See below You might get a picture from high up. Please look at the satelite picture link below. There is a parking lot on top of the building at the corner of 4th street and Broadway (South West corner). That's might be for permit only, but may be it worth trying. This location would be the best because it's right in the middle of march route. Another good location is another parking lot on top of a building almost at the corner of 5th street on Broadway, also right in the middle of the route. Since you have a car you might be able to get in one of the two. See below Please post your picture at la.indymedia.org http://maps.google.com/maps?daddr=200+N+Main+St,+Los+Angeles,+CA+90012+%28City+of+L+a-I+T+A%29+%4034.053136,-118.242417&saddr=S+Broadway+%26+W+Olympic+Blvd,+Los+Angeles,+CA+90015&f=li&hl=en&dq=city+hall+loc:+S+Broadway+%26+W+Olympic+Blvd,+Los+Angeles,+CA+90015&cid=34040930,-118257400,3660575008065021453&ll=34.048393,-118.249197&spn=0.017672,0.029268&t=h

Why do people seem to think no indymedia reporters will be attending? Is it because we're all white? In that case, you might have a point.
But if we're they're, I'm not sure the tech tips are really very usefu. We're not idiots, unless you treats us like idiots.

Why doesn't the border patrol and ICE go down to the march. They could probably deport 25,000 criminals in one day. That would be sweet!
