A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition: Update on Anti-War Protests

TENS OF THOUSANDS WILL PROTEST
IN HUNDREDS OF LOCAL AND REGIONAL ACTIONS
ON THE THIRD ANNIVERSARY OF THE IRAQ WAR

"The massive aerial bombing of Iraqi towns yesterday - three years after the criminal 'shock and awe' assault on Iraq - shows that the war is about occupation not liberation. During this weekend, on the third anniversary of the start of the war, tens of thousands of anti-war protesters will take to the street in more than 400 local and regional protests," stated Brian Becker, National Coordinator of the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition.

"This is a shift in tactics for the anti-war movement. On September 24, we rallied 300,000 people around the White House in one large concentrated protest, with large sister actions in San Francisco and Los Angeles. This weekend the anti-war movement is going into cities, towns and neighborhoods in decentralized actions. The anti-war sentiment is now the majority sentiment and we expect that there will be a tremendous response on the streets," said Becker.

"Three years ago, in the months leading up to the start of the Iraq war, the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition rallied hundreds of thousands of people in the streets all over the country to try to stop the war before it started. Everything we said about Bush's war has proven to be true. It was based on recycled and discredited lies and shifting rationales. More than 150,000 Iraqis are now assumed dead as a consequence of the invasion, tens of thousands of U.S. soldiers have either been killed or wounded, and the price tag for the war now exceeds half a trillion dollars. All around the country this weekend voices are being raised demanding that all U.S. troops be brought home, not next month, not next week, but today," Becker continued.

PROTESTING ON THE 3RD ANNIVERSARY OF THE "SHOCK AND AWE" INVASION

The A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition joined with antiwar organizations globally in calling for March 18-20, 2006, to be Global Days of Action. A.N.S.W.E.R.'s Call to Action, which was issued on November 11, has received support and interest from people and groups around the country and the world. There will be more than 300 actions in the United States alone. (See the partial list below). Coordinated demonstrations will be held in countries around the world on this the third anniversary of Bush's criminal aggression against the people of Iraq.

On Saturday, March 18 and Sunday, March 19, 2006, locally-coordinated demonstrations will take place in cities and towns across the U.S. and around the world, including in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, Seattle, and many, many more.

Education on the 9/11 Inside Job is the key to stopping the war

by Truth Saturday, Mar. 18, 2006 at 10:04 PM

Education on the 9/1...
expose_coverup.jpgttmmdf.jpg, image/jpeg, 300x219

Let's really stop the war -- for REAL!

Please help educate people about the inside job of 911, which is used by the Neocons to legitimizing their Orwellian "War on Terror" and the slaughter of innocents all over the world. The "War on Terror" was launched on September 11th. It is the cornerstone issue of the neocons and the financiers behind them and is referenced repeatedly as the all-important event to launch their globalization schemes. If this lie dies, so will their legitimacy and so will the war and future wars.

Taking a stand against the war with demonstrations has been done with massive marches all over the world, but this has not stopped the bloodthirsty, maniacal sociopaths from carrying out their wars of aggression. Expose them for who they really are. The real terrorists.

Stop state terror, stop the war, stop the bullshit. Expose the lie.

Why did the Bush admin invade Iraq?

by Becky Johnson Sunday, Mar. 19, 2006 at 5:50 PM
Santa Cruz, CA.

The previous poster claims Bush invaded Iraq for the benefit of Israel, but his links only take us to others making similar unsubstantiated charges minus any specifics.

Invasion to support Israel was probably the only reason that made sense, but I doubt that was the reason.

1. Bush had a personal agenda "Saddam tried to kill my dad"
2. Conservatives had long grumbled that Bush Sr. hadn't "finished the job"
3. WMD argument--proved false--based on cherry-picked CIA data
4. Halliburton--they knew in advance it would get the contract
5. Oil. Because we can't really trust the Saudis
6. Iran posed the real threat. But Iraq was weak enough to take
7. Al Qaeda/9-11 connection --- not proved
8. Bring democracy to Iraq!! (please!!!)
9. Support Israel
A. is a major ally of the USA
B. Saddam had been sending checks for suicide bombers
C. Iraq bombed Israel in 1991 with 21 SCUD missiles
D. Iraq sent troops to attack Israel in 1948, 1967, & 1973
E. Iraq had a declaration of war against Israel
F. Jewish pop. in Iraq had gone from 150,000 in 1948 to 100 in 2000
G. during 9/11 they danced in the streets in Bagdad and Palestine
H. Neutralizing Iraq means one less enemy for Israel to worry about
I. Israel had previously bombed Iraq's nuke facilities which it threatened to use against Israel

So, while support for Israel was the only SANE reason to invade Iraq, it wasn't very high on the Bush Admin. list, you can be quite sure.

by Sheepdog Monday, Mar. 20, 2006 at 6:36 AM

1. Bush had a personal agenda "Saddam tried to kill my dad"
[total Bushit, the Multinational interests have had plans to seize the oil of the mideast drawn up since the 60's]
2. Conservatives had long grumbled that Bush Sr. hadn't "finished the job"
[ see 1. for prelude to 2. ]
3. WMD argument--proved false--based on cherry-picked CIA data
[ known false by everybody in the administration and to think otherwise is retarded]
4. Halliburton--they knew in advance it would get the contract
[ duh$]
5. Oil. Because we can't really trust the Saudis
[ 'We' {see notation on multinational corporations, above} are in total control of the 'Saudis' and I believe you are referring to the family, not the general population, because our intelligence agencies provide the muscle to keep them from all being hanged by their own people]
6. Iran posed the real threat. But Iraq was weak enough to take
[ and to echo the chant of 'Threats' from Iran, which shows once and for all the agency you work for, is not earning your government subsidy, that's for sure. Learn subtlety.]
7. Al Qaeda/9-11 connection --- not proved
[of course there was an al-CIAda connection. Ask me for many more details with main steam, primary sources, PLEASE.!!!!]
8. Bring democracy to Iraq!! (please!!!)
[ BRING THEM HOME now. And allow democracy to survive without foreign meddling, theft and aggression]
9. Support Israel
[ cut off all arm shipments to Israel and sanction them with heavy trade restrictions until the many UN resolutions passed against them are complied with, including nuclear disarmament]
A. is a major ally of the USA
[ for actions relating to the American government, see 9. ]
B. Saddam had been sending checks for suicide bombers
[ you don't like charity? Shame on you]
C. Iraq bombed Israel in 1991 with 21 SCUD missiles
[ Israel bombed Iraq's nuclear power facility way before that, so what? ]
D. Iraq sent troops to attack Israel in 1948, 1967, & 1973
[this is news to me. List troop movements. for I am curious. ]
E. Iraq had a declaration of war against Israel
[ What's wrong with the rest of the world?]
F. Jewish pop. in Iraq had gone from 150,000 in 1948 to 100 in 2000
[were they eaten or something?]
G. during 9/11 they danced in the streets in Bagdad and Palestine
[ I was banging a pot shouting that the buildings had come down with Explosives from the way they disintegrated into bursting clouds of dust.
And they weren't the only ones dancing.
http://ww1.sundayherald.com/37707
so what else is new?]
H. Neutralizing Iraq means one less enemy for Israel to worry about
[ little Israel ]
I. Israel had previously bombed Iraq's nuke facilities which it threatened to use against Israel
[ see response in item 9.]

Thank you for your support.

Agreeing disagreeably

by Becky Johnson Monday, Mar. 20, 2006 at 9:06 AM
Santa Cruz, CA.

Poor Sheepdog, you really have trouble staying on point!

My post was to show that there were mulitple reasons the Bush admin. went to war, and support for Israel was there but a minor consideration.

I also pointed out that attacking Iraq to support Israel was the only real reason the USA had for doing what it did.

Nor was the Israeli population united in wishing for the USA to attack Iraq.

I opposed the Iraq invasion, marched against it, and organized protests against it.

Sheepdog, you really have an anger management problem. Even when you AGREE with me you have to do it in the most insulting way (e.g. Duh! "retarded" etc.)

My advice to you is to seek professional help.

Your link is to a big nothing

by Becky Johnson Monday, Mar. 20, 2006 at 9:57 AM
Santa Cruz, CA.

I know all about the Israeli students videotaping 9/11 and appearing to be very excited and animated.

Lots of people videotaped the 9/11 attack. If I had been there, I would have videotaped it.

these students were arrested in the huge sweep following 9/11, fully investigated, and released with no charges. they apologized for their innappropriate enthusiasm---but this was hardly criminal activity.

There is absolutley no evidence they or the Israeli govt. had anything to do with our 9/11 attack.
Osama bin Laden is no fan of Israel or the Jews. Israeli intelligence supplied to the US govt. was probably ignored just like Bush ignored the report from condi Rice in August 2001.

Bush let us down. He did not protect us from this attack. The FBI, the CIA, the FAA and all our police resources failed to protect us. Our only defense turned out to be scared airline passengers.

It is true that Israelis realized that our 9/11 would help Americans to better understand the situation Israel faces every day.

the Palestinians danced in the street to celebrate US deaths. Israel declared a national day of mourning.

Can you tell the difference?

the difference is not a big nothing, sweetie pie, it's a rout to who knew what and who was involved in this preposterous set up, Black Ops of 9-11
You know it And everyone else who has looked into it ( more main street, primary sources, hmmmm ) form any angle sees Mossad involvement along with their CIA FBI etc...etc...etc... counterparts and media cronies. All of them raping the U. S. tax payer and treasury.

Give it a fucking rest.

You're blowing farts in the pool.

Can't buy 9/11 conspiracy

by Becky Johnson Monday, Mar. 20, 2006 at 10:29 AM
Santa Cruz, CA.

Believe me, I have plenty of questions about 9/11.
How could the PENTAGON get attacked without any military response?
Was the flight over Pennsylvania shot down by the US military?
Why were the Bin Laden family flown out right after the attack?
Did Bush tell the FBI to lay off the Saudis prior to the attack?
Why was the debris carted away from a crime scene?
Why did building number 7 come down?
Why did our intelligence fail?
Why didn't we have locks on our cockpit doors?
Did Bush ignore intelligence prior to the attacks?
Did Condi Rice promise the Taliban in April 2001 "a carpet of gold or a carpet of bombs?"
Did Bush ignore Clinton's top investigator of Osama bin Laden?

However, I simply can't buy the conspiracy theorists contetntions that the WTC buildings were demolished from previously placed explosives. This is nuts.

There is no way that Osama bin Laden or 19 Islamic Arabs intent on destroying America would cooperate with the Bush admin. to "make the Arabs look bad".

Controlled demolitions take months to set up. There wer e NO REPORTS of suspicious people lurking around the buildings in the months preceeding Sept 11th.

Ridiculous claims that NO plane hit the pentagon----where are all the missing passengers on that plane?

We all saw huge airliners filled with jet fuel hit the towers. Why would there even need to be any explosives to destroy the buildings?

If the explosions had been set, why bother with the planes in the first place? Why not just blow up the building when they had their maximum occupancy of 50,000 people?

Why let most evacuate and THEN set off the explosions?
None of this makes any sense. I just don't believe it.
And I am convinced by the Popular Mechanics investigation which debunked the planted explosives myth.

This whole conspiracy stems from those who WISH the perpetrators were different from who they were and that their motives were different from what they really were.

Wrong again!

by Becky Johnson Monday, Mar. 20, 2006 at 12:19 PM
Santa Cruz, CA.

None of it was cut and pasted. Those are my original thoughts. I notice that you have not refuted any of my arguments ---but instead you continue to scrape the bottom with unsubtantiated allegations implying some kind of nefarious motive on my part.

I'm simply a writer who reads sources on all sides and voices my opinions based on those readings. You don't have to agree with me. You don't have to villify me. You don't even have to read what I write.

But for some reason, you feel compelled to heap abuse on me without refuting a single point. Interesting.

So JA is "Sheepdog"

by Not 7/8 cracker Thursday, Mar. 23, 2006 at 4:38 PM

So JA is also posing as "Sheepdog" so that he talk to himself and self-congratulate. Has anyone noticed that JA has a major problem relating to women? Like its not about "zionism" at all with this Becky character, it seems to be about exerting power over an independant woman. Almost as weird as being 7/8 cracker and pretending to speak for all African-Americans. Some of us remember the "paper bag" clubs.
