In a guest lecture at the University of Texas School of Law on Wednesday, FBI Supervisory Senior Resident Agent G. Charles Rasner listed Indymedia, Food Not Bombs, and the Communist Party of Texas as “Terrorist Watch” cause groups in Austin.
Rasner gave a presentation entitled “Counter-Terrorism Efforts in Texas” to a U.S. Law and National Security class at the Law School. He used PowerPoint slides to illustrate the nature of the terrorist threat in Central Texas. The word “Unclassified” appeared prominently in bold red letters on the opening PowerPoint slide.
Listing three categories of cause groups potentially linked to terrorist activity, Rasner named white supremacist groups, Islamic terrorist groups, and Anarchists. When asked what anarchist activity in Austin the FBI was investigating, Rasner referred the questioner to the Ted Kaczynski Unabomber case, claiming that Kaczynski “was an anarchist.” He did not discuss Austin-specific anarchist activity when pressed.
Rasner used a map of Texas to illustrate the existence of the three kinds of terrorist groups in the state. Austin was listed as a site of all three kinds of terrorist activity.
Rasner then placed the FBI’s Central Texas “Terrorist Watch List” on the screen. On a list of approximately ten groups, Food Not Bombs was listed seventh. Indymedia was listed tenth, with a reference specifically to IndyConference 2005. The Communist Party of Texas also made the list. Rasner explained that these groups could have links to terrorist activity. He noted that peaceful-sounding group names could cover more violent extremist tactics.
Food Not Bombs is an all-volunteer organization that recovers food that would otherwise be thrown out and serves vegetarian meals to the public at no cost. Austin Indymedia is an open newswire in which readers may publish news, events, and commentary.
In response to a questioner, Rasner stated that the FBI will attend activist group meetings whenever it suspects that the group might engage in illegal activity. He said that he saw no problem with an agent failing to represent himself as a representative of the FBI and implied that the practice was common.
Student Elizabeth Wagoner requested a copy of the PowerPoint presentation at the end of the class. Rasner refused, claiming the presentation was private government property. He then refused a request for the contact information of the FOIA officer in his bureau, saying it “was not worth [his] time”.
A copy of the PowerPoint presentation has been requested via the Freedom of Information Act. We will publish the presentation on Indymedia as soon as it becomes available.
And to think that all the time they were feeding hungry people they were being "terrersts."
That our FBI. alright. Always on the job to maintain the status quo, as they fill the roll of political police/assasins.
Remember Ruby Ridge or Waco or Pine Ridge?
Who are the 'terrerest'?
They can count on mentally unstable right-winger's to libel leftist orgs/pubs and then use that as justification of probable cause.
they don't seem to realize where the BS leads too - to them it's a game of batting the truth around, which has no intrinsic value, so they willingly or unwittingly provide the excuse the FBI needs to harass us
and she wondered why she was given the boot...
Austin Indymedia draws flack for questioning FBI's right to infiltrate constitutionally-protected political speech, and TX intell assets all perk their ears. Killing is bad, feed and communicating is good. These are moral values, and biologically desireable adaptability traits. Congrats to indymedia for immediately publicizing this outrage and demanding the Power-Point presentation in a properly-asserted FOIA request.
The FBI lies about the weapons it used against Koresh and no sane person continues to believe that the FBI did not set the compound ablaze.
koresh clearly and obviously set that structure on fire. There's no disputing that. Unless of course, you're a member of the chemtrail tinfoil hat brigade.
Sometimes, sheepdog, bastards simply murder without any help from the CIA, FBI, Mossad or whoever else you're afraid of.
Here's a photo of Special Agent G. Charles Rasner, the "man" who libels us and calls us terrorists.
Confirms my image of the FBI.
Charles Rasner probably sees terrorists around every corner. At night, he sleeps with the light on, afraid terrorist monsters will come out from beneath his bed.
See admission by the University of Texas of its (implied) plot to assist the fbi in the intended arrest of this Target.

I believe that the evidence will show that during the past several years the University of Texas (UT) officials (including the Chancellor, legal counsel, chief of police, high ranking officers, an fbi criminal operative/perpetrator, et al, intentionally or knowingly engaged in a criminal conspiracy (and other criminal actions as evidenced by a pattern and practice of such conduct) to violate the civil rights ( under color of law and police authority) of Geral Sosbee (hereinafter referred to as ‘T’).
From the time in 2002, that T was a part time student and visiting scholar on the campus of the University of Texas, Brownsville, Texas, and continuing to date at UT, Harlingen, Texas, the fbi entered onto the UT campuses and spread rumors that caused the police and the administrators to commence illegal efforts to arrest T. See:
http://www.sosbeevfbi.com/part19a-updatefo.html http://www.sosbeevfbi.com/part5-updatefor2.html http://www.sosbeevfbi.com/part8-updatefor2003.html The Chancellor and legal counsel of UT authorize the unlawful attempted sting operations against T in order to help the fbi silence, or imprison T [ See the above link at part 19a]. Additionally, the UT chief of police and his officers were aware of a criminal assault on the person of T by a contract employee of the UT and they all made no record of same, even as they (Police officials Davidson, Trevino, Earhart, et al) illegally continued to stalk, harass, and threaten T, in an apparent effort to fabricate a basis to arrest him.
The legal counsel at UT, like the fbi and DOJ attorney Sara Robinson pretend to justify the illegal police actions by stating that they are interested in “possible crimes” by the Target; such false argument also intends to obscure in its inflammatory meaning the actual crimes being committed by their clients (the fbi and the police) against T as documented at many pages of

http://www.sosbeevfbi.com/affidavit2007.html http://www.sosbeevfbi.com/statement.html http://www.sosbeevfbi.com/thisiswhy.html Concerning the present unlawful actions by UT officials, T attempted to communicate as an attorney pro se (inactive ) with both the Chancellor and the legal counsel of UT. Each refused T's efforts to dialogue and the two blocked all e-mail from T.
[The Texas Lawyer's Creed, mandated by the Supreme Court of Texas and the Court of criminal Appeals on November 7, 1989, is thereby violated in part by UT Attorney Chatterjee.
The Creed reads in part: III. Lawyer To Lawyer
“I will be courteous, civil, and prompt in oral and written communications.”]
As of today, the UT officials continue to withhold information in violation of the Open Records (OR) statutes and T plans to publish any forthcoming opinion from the Texas Attorney General (AG) on this subject plus any data released by UT under orders from the AG. T also intends to publish the name of the fbi operative/perpetrator who filed a false police report and who continues efforts to hide his identity with the approval of the UT legal counsel and Chancellor. Note that the Texas State Bar, Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel, refuses to process T’s complaint against Attorney Chatterjee.
Over the last two months the UT library staff continue to obey the instructions of their misguided UT President (at San Antonio, Texas) and UT Chancellor as follows:
Each time T enters the library, the library staff are under orders to follow and report on his activities. During the period of time that T did not visit the library, the same officials frantically begin asking the employees of the library whether they had seen T in the library. This preoccupation and obsession by the UT officials signals that their unlawful and despicable and ominous conduct as described herein continue. The UT officials and perpetrators of crimes against T appear as hysterical fiends , not unlike the fbi terrorist identified by this Target at UT, Brownsville, Texas, as the criminal Toni Iommi :

"koresh clearly and obviously set that structure on fire. There's no disputing that. Unless of course, you're a member of the chemtrail tinfoil hat brigade."
No "fresca", that is a 100% lie and distortion of the truth. The fire and attack on the Waco compound came from the FBI and other federal agents stationed outside of the compound. Claiming that people who question the FBI's version of "truth" in their Waco report are wearing tinfoil hats is pandering to neo-fascist sypmathizers who would use the exact same tactics (federal government's murder of dissidents) on any other activists or independent minded groups as they see fit. Whatever you may feel about the ideology of Koresh, that is irrelevent to the equal rights protections that ALL people deserve in the U.S., regardless of their political outlook.
Since the Waco tragedy occurred under leadership of Democrat Bill Clinton, we had the opposite effect of the majority of Democrats defending the federal actions in Waco and some (very few) fringe Republicans and Democrats challenging and questioning the FBI tactics during the investigation.
Neither the centrist left nor centrist right has ever bothered to investigate the actual details of Waco outside of dismissing anyone who questions the official version as "conspiracy theorists" or any other cute nicknames (tinfoil hat wearer) used to label political dissidents as "mental defectives".
Who else used this strategy to railroad truthseeking activists into psychiatric confinement??
Hitler and Stalin!!
Looks like you're in great company, "fresca"!!
For serious minded activists, here's a bit of actual facts on the FBI assault on Waco;
"Semantic Difficulties in Danforth Report on Waco"
by Stuart A. Wright
(Associate Director of Graduate Studies and Professor of Sociology at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. He is editor of Armageddon in Waco (University of Chicago Press, 1995) and he testified in the 1995 Congressional hearings on Waco.)
"Was anyone else confused by the inconsistencies between the Special Counsel's conclusions and the substantive discussions of material in the report on
Waco? On Friday, July 21, Special Counsel John Danforth absolved the government of wrongdoing and concluded that there was no cover-up in the Waco
disaster. A 152-page Interim Report was issued to the press and can be downloaded over the internet;
http://www.osc-waco.org Curiously, much of the report is spent discussing missing or concealed evidence (audio tapes, FLIR
tapes, expended pyrotechnic projectiles, incriminating page from FBI evidentiary lab report), FBI misstatements to the Attorney General, Congress
and the public, the failure of government prosecutors to turn over exculpatory evidence in the 1994 Davidian criminal trial, withholding key evidence of incendiary devices in the civil case by an FBI attorney, the
failure by officials who authored the Justice report to discover and document use of pyrotechnic devices, and various other instances of miscommunication,
negligence and vital omissions."
No cover-up? The authoritative Webster's New Universal Unabridged Dictionary defines cover-up as "something used for hiding one's real activities,
intentions, etc.." The report even chides government personnel for "non-disclosure," suggesting that these individuals might have sought to conceal information for fear of "personal or professional ruin." How does the Office of Special Counsel (OSC) define "cover-up?"
The answer lies on p.44 of the report. It states: "Whether or not there was a cover-up is in many respects dependent upon nuances in terminology." Nuances in terminology?
A central issue in the Danforth investigation has been the use of incendiary devices by the FBI during the April 19 CS insertion. For six years, the FBI
denied using incendiary devices that might have started the fire that killed 74 Davidians. These denials were relayed to the Attorney General immediately
after the tragic conflagration. Indeed, the AG asked for and received assurances that no incendiary devices would be used prior to the April 19 assault as a condition of her approval for the gassing plan. These denials were repeated in the 1994 criminal trial of the Davidians in San Antonio, as prosecutors failed to disclose evidence of pyrotechnic rounds in their Brady
v. Maryland submission to defense attorneys . They were repeated in the 1995 Congressional hearings to members of the subcommittees who specifically
requested "a listing of all pyrotechnic and incendiary devices" used at the Davidian complex. And finally, they were repeated in responses to requests
for FBI documents in the civil case.
For the semantically challenged, the report explains that there is an important, though subtle, difference between "pyrotechnic" and "incendiary"
devices. The purpose of an incendiary device, we learn, is designed to cause a fire. Technically, therefore, a pyrotechnic tear gas round is not
incendiary, presumably because a pyrotechnic round may cause a fire but is not intended to do so. Incredibly, the Danforth report concludes that the FBI
(mis)statements to the AG, the Justice Department, to Congress and the American public that "they never used any incendiary devices" were "technically true," excluding, of course, the failure to disclose to
Congressional subcommittees who asked for a list of both pyrotechnic and incendiary devices.
In the latter case, the federal prosecutor, Ray Jahn,
admitted to making a false statement, claiming he was merely "negligent."
Further complicating matters was that different terms were used for pyrotechnics rounds by different personnel. Pyrotechnic rounds were variously
referred to as "military rounds," "bubbleheads," and "cupcake rounds." Who could know that these terms all referred to pyrotechnic devices in the
absence of a government linguist or translator?"
entire article found @;
http://faculty.fullerton.edu/jsantucci/danforth.reactions.htm So, "fresca", are you not thrilled that it was only "bubbleheads" and "cupcakes" that started the fire that killed the 74 people trapped in the Waco siege, NOT actual incendiary devices!!
Back to the original subject of the FBI declaring indymedia websites and anarchist food sharing groups (FNB) as "terrorist" organizations, that only indicates the success of these groups at defeating the mainstream corporatist agenda and including alternative ways to resist corporate dependency and redirect our society to healthier lifestyles and greater independence from industrial agricuture and corporate media.
Being labeled a "terrorist group" by the FBI is (in reality) as meaningless as their attempts to redefine incendiary devices as cupcakes!!
If the FBI cannot find any legitimate reason to arrest and harrass activists, they will make something up! Deception, framing and trickery always was and always will be the tools of the FBI, whether under the Democrat mask or the Republican mask of the establishment two party military-industrial complex. Just keep doing what you're doing and PLEASE don't take any needless risks that could draw any further heat from the feds.
The greatest mistake would be allowing this new classification by the FBI to immobilize activism out of fear of being grouped together with "Waco-ites" and other "far right tin foil hat wearing loonies" who were on the FBI domestic terrorist watch list for years.
BTW, you can thank the SPLC, ADL and other "hate-watch" groups for this new FBI classification also. Anarchists and "anti-globalization" activists were on their radar screen for years, and now it looks like all their clamoring has finally gotten the attention of the FBI.
For the people who still believe that Obama's skin color somehow would prevent him from being a dictator;
Q: What did Joeseph Mbutu do to Patrice Lumumba??
(CLUE; BOTH would be considered dark skinned people of African ancestry.)
"Mobutu, from the BBC's Storyville documentary series, reveals how the Western powers put Joseph Sese Seko Mobutu in power after the death of Lumumba, keeping him there for 32 years while he systematically looted the country. Mobutu became the west's main Cold War ally in Africa, and the Congo formed the staging post for CIA operations against Soviet-backed African regimes.
The film reveals the very close personal and political relationship that existed between Mobutu and several Western leaders. We see film clips of Mobutu being embraced by Jacques Chirac (now President of France), and sitting next to the British Queen in the royal carriage. For many years, until he fell out of favour at the end of the Cold War, Mobutu remained a friend of the Belgian king, but his closest friends were President George Bush Snr. and his family."

well son, that's why we have a 2nd amendment here. It makes it less cost effective to institute a pogrom of death squad enforcement when most of your targets are armed and ready to defend themselves.
