It is believed that the LAPD will be assisting the Sheriffs if the eviction is done by force.

The police at present represent the arm of the corporate state and its special interests.
This is going to be a war in the court of public opinion and mobilization.
This model of self sufficiency, is a direct threat to food chain control and the issue is a SERIOUS test case. As it would be for a local wind powered wellhead. Every city needs many more of these and treelots for carbon reduction and food production if we follow the Cuban model.
Free food for the people!

I'm not too sure about the legal issues. That's another matter involving economic 'interests' which I predict will triumph over this farm project.
My point would be, that the city, realizing the importance of certain civic 'interests', provide the farmers ( residents of the community) with alternative space that isn't in dispute. I believe the problem really is competition with the chain supermarket cartels. And a possible venue for an -underground- economy. All dangerous popular strategies for survival, in the elite mindsets.
Again, another point would also be the critical need for green areas inside these wastelands of asphalt and concrete.
Oh, and free food for the people.

Time is for sure running out, and new land may be needed, but you can start selling seedlings to convert the "fruits" of the farm into liquid assets, that can be transfered to buying land, if not the farm.
Cash is portable.
Although I dont' know if the owner would lay claim to the profits, that's a legal thing. :)

Cash is actually nothing but an accounting tool a fraud involving phantom rates of exchange for labor and goods. Food is the ultimate currency.

I think the main economic interest is the Alameda corridor. Imports come in via ships at the LB and San Pedro ports, and come up Alameda. Trucks and trains move stuff north. They take a right turn through downtown, toward Colton, and then to Las Vegas and points beyond.
Maybe a warehouse there would help supply the numerous dollar stores opening everywhere. Maybe they will commemorate the farm with a specially commissioned ceramic nopal Chia Pet, made in China, and only 99 cents. Maybe the woman making the Chia Pet will be working in the factory because she could no longer survive by working on the farm, in her village, and went to Shenzen to work for 25 cents an hour.
Maybe the dirt is exhausted. Maybe the air stinks of volatile organic compounds. Maybe the vegetables won't go to seed anymore. Maybe that CalTrans building on 1st street really is an architectural wonder and not an ugly collision of concrete and girders. Maybe all trees are supposed to be uprooted before they break the concrete.
Maybe Van Gogh's painting of sunflowers really is worth a lot more than actual sunflowers, or actual sun, or actual anything. Really, what do I know?
