Scott's stories and links are are mostly about/to material I've already seen so when I look over his post I personally *usually* have no reason to check them out

BUT there are times when he finds something I didn't know about and he does provide a minor service in presenting his collection (even for me)

Plus he's not hurting anything in doing so - that's what he likes doing.. True he is rather rambunctious and quick to get himself censored and *tell us about it* thus hurting his own case

maybe - according to the occasional replier "self fulfilling prophecy"

yet he does sometimes find interesting things worth checking out - a collection where the gentle reader needs to *think for himself* to determine what's valid or not

He's encouraging independent & critical thinking

so the shameless plug that caused me to post -

I'm not going to say anything negative about the suggested URL, but I'm not going to say anything positive either as those qualities above are lacking

Scott represents a diverse grab for news many people won't find on their own because he reaches out in all directions going wherever the search for truth might take him

it's not always valid but at least he tries and sometimes he finds little jewels here & there..

whereas the plug is completely devoid of such spirit

another way to put it is - if something was going down, if some unusual activity was noted on the 'net and I was to start searching for answers, Scott's webpage is one of the first places I would check out..

whereas I would avoid the plugged URL like the plague either expecting to find nothing useful or worse yet propaganda designed to distract and frustrate my curiosity

this is just my opinion and maybe I'm biased - but that's what I would do regardless

I commend Johnk for allowing Scott's posts to stay up in the spirit of independent and critical thinking and for tolerance for other ways and methods of collecting the news, for keeping the spirit alive
