going on every week for years now in Oakland, CA. Alas, so has the war.
If marching around with signs was going to put an end to war, it would have happened already. Only direct action, such as strikes, sabotage and open rebellion can stop war, that and fragging.
Or, we could just "lie back and enjoy it," and pretend there's no blood on our hands.
Either way, the choice is ours. Either way, we'll be judged by our actions, or lack thereof, as the case may be.
At least the "peace walk" costs nothing. When International ANSWER spends upwards of 20k PER CITY, PER RALLY, then you've got to wonder what the point is.
Thats a lot of money- a lot of people who could be educated, a lot of hunger who could be fed. The rallys come one after another- there is another scheduled for October. There has got to be a better way, or at least a lower cost way.
