On December 23, 2005, four agents of the US Secret Service came to the headquarters of the news and information service La Voz de Aztlan that has a website at http://www.aztlan.net

The agents requested access to the news service's computer

and they copied the entire contents of the hard disk with

electronic equipment they brought with them. They spent

about 2 hours in the computer room.

While 2 agents where copying the entire computer's contents,

two others interrogated LA Voz de Aztlan news publisher.

Among many of the questions asked where the following:

1. What is the Aztlan movement?

2. Who are members of the organization?

3. How do you obtain the information published on the

website?

4. Do you owned any weapons?

There were in addition many questions of a personal nature

asked of the publisher. The government agents already had

information which indicated that surveillance and prior

investigations had taken place.

Of primary concern to the Department of Homeland Security

special agents was a report published at http://www.aztlan.net/juba_video.htm

The report has been removed and a notice substituted to explain its removal to La Voz de Aztlan readers.

The special agent in charge of the operation was in constant

communication, through a hand held device, with others outside the headquarters of La Voz de Aztlan. This operation by the government may be related to the recent revelation that the Bush Administration has been spying on American citizens without judicial permission.

I reiterate Pachuco's sentiments that in a sense Voz de Azltlan had it coming to them after years of misrepresenting the Chicano community and movement. Hector Carreon used to be a brown beret, then became a born again retard, I mean christian, and still tried to promote chicanismo through a bullshit political line of homophobia and anti-semitism. Anglo-saxons and others would view his website, which had "some" good info on issues in Mexico, Latin America, and Palestine, as the "legtimate" voice of La Raza, while Chicano activists and scholars would have to deal with Hector, Ernesto, and the backwards ilk spreading slander about them just because of their progressive views on sexuality and their rejection of the archaic anti-Jew mentality, which is a hallmark of fundamentalist christianity along with homophobia. GIven that Hector had the most "prominent" website to try to represent Chicanos on the web (middle class Whittier life has privileged him well, but maybe too much of that hypocritical middle class cocaine habit rotted his brain), it is admittedly sad that Voz goes out like this, and it would seem that Chicanos would want to come to his support now that he has met the real conspiracy (to protect the antichrist, or president, at any cost), but given that much of the real Chicano community has disowned him and his ilk, and feel that they don't represent the community, well its Hector and Miroslavas own loss, not ours. Chicanos should take this as a lesson in what is pure stupidity and what are the limits of free speech in the new gestapo of America.

As for the others who just don't get it (its "anti-american") may it a new years resolution to pull your head out of your ass.

La Voz de Aztlan ~as an online news source~ is a voice we should heed with caution becuase ot its occasional bigotry. Besides, the FBI Pig Raid is objectively good publicity for it. Design or coincidence?

Sometimes LVdeA only seems to be the narrow-minded invention of the control-freak Editor Hector Carreon. He Emailed once saying he does not accept outside Articles, that to me means outside of his personal domain and out of the control of his Junta!.Nevertheless, we must uphold his freedom of speech, freedom of expression and wish him continued good health. I suspect he needs progressive recovery!

He does not speak for me nor does he speak for the diverse people of La Raza in Aztlan. There is no one Voz for Aztlan. We have many voices amongst us! Global voices!
