“Tookie is dead: we are not safer, we are not more secure, we are not more humane. The state does not have the moral authority, nor the will to protection to kill. We must kill the idea of killing to stop killing.”

I would like to make a cooment on this tragedy of injustice, to yet another Black Male, of our generation. My, grandfather, was a noted Civil Rights Leader and he fought with REV. Martin Luther King JR. and REV. Jesse Jackson, and their dream was One Day We as Black People, could one day, be Judged, No more, by our skin color, but , I want to say that People like my Grandfather; Rev. H.H. Johnson, of Montgomery, Alabama, in the 1960s and until his Death fought with all their Might and I just want to say if we do not start, back fighting like our Ancestors for freedom in all Areas of our lives to be judged, by the Real Truth and Evidence that is needed to Free Our Many INNODENCE YOUNG BLACK MEN AND WOMEN, WAKE UP AND REALIZE THAT STAN TOOKIE WILLIAMS DIED BECAUSE, OF HIS PAST MISTAKES AND HE MADE AMENDS FOR STARTING THE CRIPS AND SURE HE DID CRIMES, BUT THIS ONE WAS FRAMED AND IT IS WRITTEN ALLOVER THE LACK OF PHYSICAL EVIDENCE !!!! THE LACK OF TRUE EYEWITNESSES, THAT DID NOT EXIST AT ALL. AND PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW THE LAW DID NOT CARE ABOUT THE FINGER PRINTS THAT WERE AT THE CRIME SCENE AND BLOODY FOOT PRINT LEFTED AT ONE OF THE CRIME SCENE, IT DOES NOT FIT, I AM SO SORRY WE HAVE LOST SUCH A WARRIOR, LONG LIVE THE SPIRIT OF STAN TOOKIE WILLIAMS, WE LOVE YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How special! The world's tiredest race hustler singing the praises of a murdering thug!! A "role model" for the black community, Jesse? What a pathetic spectacle of shame.
For the life of me I can't undrstand why the black community continues to look to Jesse Jackson for guidance. Maybe he simply feeds their sense of paranoia... who knows. But the guy is nothing short of an unemplyed race warlord and media hound who has done NOTHING to eliminate racism in this country. In fact, he is depending on the perception of extreme racism to keep him afloat. What a waste.
The main thing Jackson has going for him is that so many right-wing white people get into such a lather over him.
It's funny, because Jackson is more moderate than MLK was. And these very same Jackson-haters LOVE to say "MLK" this-and-that, "content of their character" blah blah blah. Ignorance really knows no bounds.
Compared to MLK, Jackson is a centrist Democrat, and a player primarily within the Democratic Party machine.

Maybe I'm the only one who was inspired when Jesse Jackson ran for president and spoke (I believe during prime time) at the Democratic National Convention. In fact, that is how I found this site. I was lookling for something motivation to listen to while I work That speech and the fact he ran, motivated me. Later in life I saw two small white children with their parents at a Pres. Clinton speech in New Orleans. It occurred to me that too many black children never see what they can be. They can never identify with being successful in governemnt or business because they don't see peopl who look like them. For that one reason that Jesse inspired others, you need to lighen up on Jesse.
