US Senate Slits American Workers' Throats
On November 4, 2005, 85 U.S. senators, voted into office to represent American citizens-instead-pulled out their knives and sliced American workers' throats. What occurred is unconscionable and brutally obscene.
We already suffer nearly one million lost American jobs from H-1B, H-2B and L-1 visas to foreigners and their families. Instead of working, our citizens stand in unemployment lines while we listen to broken English from an outsourced job to an employee from India or "Push two for Spanish" on our phones.
Senator Robert Byrd, a democrat from West Virginia presented an amendment to Budget Reconciliation Senate Bill #1932 to strip 350,000 H-1B visas. Our senators, at the highest portals of power, voted to override the amendment and steal those 350,000 jobs away from Americans and award them to strangers from other countries.
Have you ever gotten a sick feeling in the pit of your stomach when someone you respected betrayed you, lied to you, cheated you or screwed you by treacherous means? This one makes me sick to my stomach.
Only 13 senators voted to strip the bill of the 350,000 visas for foreigners. The following honorable senators voted to stop giving our jobs away: Akaka, Byrd, Dayton, Dodd, Dorgan, Durbin, Feingold, Landrieu, Rockefeller, Stabenow, Jeffords, Inhofe and Sessions.
The remaining 85 senators, bought off by the US Chamber of Commerce and mega bucks multinational corporations that hold a campaign-funding gun to their senatorial heads-voted against all of us. They won! We lost, again!
What's more, those senators want to INCREASE the current 1.1 million legal immigrants per year to ever higher numbers while they won't take a stinking step to secure our borders against the three million illegal aliens crossing our borders annually. They lawfully would like to increase horrific numbers of immigrants while they wink and nod at the massive invasion of illegal aliens. Who voted these senators into office anyway and how do they get re-elected every six years? Pray, tell me, who, in their right mind, keeps voting Teddy Kennedy into office decade after decade?
Since 1996, the Senate stands as a vast wasteland when it comes to concern about immigration competition undermining American workers and over-taxation of our cities' infrastructures. Why do they do it? They comprise a network of bought-off corporate lackeys under the thumb of money. That money ensures they get reelected because voters don't take time to study what's going on under their noses.
An American, Bill Gates of Microsoft, the richest man in the world, utilizes his immense financial power to add more H-1B visas. Gates stands as the premier example of corporate power buying off our elected officials. As if billion in his bank account isn't enough! Personally, I find Gates' greed as sickening as Ken Lay of Enron.
Get this! We already suffer 900,000 H1-B, H-2B and L-1 visas that have stolen jobs away from American citizens. Those visas allow foreigners from China, India, Brazil and other countries to come over here and take jobs away from American citizens.
When our Senate had a chance to stop the next wave of 350,000 H-1B visas, they voted against you and me-and we're the ones who elected them. What's wrong with this picture? And, where does this insanity end? It doesn't because not enough Americans speak up.
There's an old story about a man who watched the Nazis take neighbors from their houses each night and he didn't speak out. Finally, they came for him and there was no one left to speak out for him, either. In all my columns you've read over the years, I'm speaking out to you so you can speak out to Bush and Congress. Congressman Tom Tancredo speaks out because he sees this immigration invasion's final consequences. The House's Immigration Reform Caucus jumped to 91 members which is the largest caucus in the House of Representatives. It needs to jump to 435 members! How is that going to happen so we can stop further wholesale H-1B, H-2B and L-1 visas given to hundreds of thousands of foreigners?
My father was a 27 year career United States Marine who fought in WWII and Korea. He died while in service to our country. He said, "Son, when you know you're right-stand up and speak out!"
Today, in America-our language and our way of life is undermined by the VERY leaders we elected into office at the highest levels. We've got a president who refuses to enforce our immigration laws and a Congress that does NOTHING to secure our borders from terrorist attacks and the onslaught of millions of illegal aliens.
If you don't speak out, who will? It takes every one of us, every day! Call your senators and congressmen at 1 877 762 8762. Demand they stop H-1B, H-2B and L-1 visas. Tell them to stop outsourcing, insourcing and offshoring of our jobs. Join www.numbersusa.com and become a weekly faxer. We've got 14 million Americans who would love to work those jobs. Tell them you want illegal immigration stopped and you want a moratorium on all immigration!
I'm tired of my own Congress slitting the throats of my fellow American citizens. It's time for us to take action.

If you professionals don't think your going to be affected like the current layoffs in the automotive industry, THINK AGAIN.
Professionals includes ENGINEERS and TECHNICIANS.

This above article is racist garbage. The H1Bs I've worked with were decent people. Most were very intelligent, nice folks, and had been here for years. They probably did knock my pay down around 10% to 20%, but that didn't really hurt until *after* the dotcom crash. (At that time, obviously, the program should have been curtailed.)
The real problem are the high-tech companies that are simultaneously lobbying for the H1B during lean times, and offshoring jobs to other countries.
When times are good, the H1B is generally good, because it slows down the process of offshoring, by keeping the job within the US. (When there's a labor shortage, the wages tend to go up exponentially, not linearly, so the motivation to offshore shoots up, too.) The side effect is that their paychecks are spent here, too, and that's good. Also, it's better to have the top talent here than elsewhere, for the same reason it's better to have all the best international athletes in the US -- we have them, and their home country doesn't.
It's only when the H1B is abused, as a permanent "guest worker" program, rather than as an immigration program, that we get hurt. If these workers settle permanently in the US, as equals, we benefit from their presence. If they're "second class", they'll always be a threat to wages, because their presence is at the whim of the corporation.
Corporations, of course, have found it's better to never give the H1B's permanent status. These mobile workers are likely to go back to their home country and establish offshoring shops. Offshoring, more than anything else, threatens wages.
If an H1B visa holder is living in the US, they will want a salary that lets them live here comfortably. When the same person is back in their country of origin, the cost of living is 1/3rd to 1/10th what it is here, and thus, the salaries paid to their workers (whom the H1B now manages) are going to be lower. We've seen the effects of imports on manufacturing industries and agriculture; the effect of imported "intellectual property" will be the same. Mostly, it'll be a transformation into a lower-wage sector dominated by people of color who compete with people in the East and South, and the creation of a "master race" of marketing and fiscal managers.
The most unfortunate effect, in my guesstimation, will be that a growing proportion of high tech jobs may be in the "homeland security" industry and the "defense" war machines industries. These are jobs that cannot be legally offshored, and thus, will represent a growing fraction of the business. (The corporations *do* want to offshore this work too, but they cannot risk losing their biggest customer.)
Frosty Woolridge, who wrote the original essay, is, at best, a populist frontman for fascism.

Those GM jobs were offshored. The H1B visas didn't have anything to do with that. (The essay was a racist screed against immigrants.)

I know you got no time and all, but if this piece is so racist why is it still on the board?

Also, it's not racist on the surface -- it just skirts the edge of racism. I'm just saying it's racist to point out the underlying message.
Subjectively, to some people, this kind of message isn't racist.
Should I hide it?

That was a nice ( as usual ) analysis. But doesn't it get to be a drag to have to correct all the tainted posts?

So BA wants one-party rule and no unions. This is exactly what Hitler established in Nazi Germany. This should be proof to one and all that BA is a fascist. He is profoundly undemocratic and un-American in his values and views. He is a disgrace.
