Stanley "Tookie" Williams should not be executed.
Unless Governor Schwarzenegger grants clemency or there is some unforeseen court intervention, the state of California will judicially murder Stanley "Tookie" Williams on December 13.
I join in the call to stop the execution of Stanley "Tookie" Williams. The death penalty is wrong. Many death penalty abolitionists and prisoners' rights advocates condemn what they call the "cycle of violence." I see violence in our society as a straight line, from the top down.
Wealthy people own corporations, middle class managers strive to produce profits, and workers toil long hours, frequently in dangerous conditions, for falling wages and poor health care. Corporations strip the earth of its resources and foul the air, water and land. Native animal and plant species die out and people are robbed of their health and livelihoods.
Our economy exists to provide profits for the rich. The stresses of overwork and unemployment tear apart family and community life. Young people turn to gangs and crime because they are at the receiving end of a punishing system. African Americans are most often at the bottom of the economic ladder and most likely to be on death row.
We must immediately abolish the death penalty and provide education, health care, and rehabilitation for those who have turned to crime.
But to end the trajectory of violence, we must join together to take control of our own labor and claim what belongs to all of us. We can truly exercise our humanity when we can work in common for the good of our society and our earth.

...are you 'man' enough to even read about the case or expound on your god like ability to write or even think such things with out anything but your itch to see death occur again, to excuse your lame homicidal post?

I believe Tookie should be saved. He shouldn't have to go through the death penalty. He may have commited a crime, but people don't get life in prison for murder all the time anymore, the judges are more leinient. I've read Tookie's books, and watched his movie. He may have committed a crime in 1979, but he is proving to so many people he isn't the same. He's not running the Crips, and he is helping get the word out for kids to not be in gangs, and telling them what's the bad about gangs. Now if he truely doesn't mean what he's telling all these young children, then why would he spend all these years getting information out to young children? I believe he should be saved.

He is the founder of one of the worst gangs in history, a gang that has terrorized thousands, and then he kills 4 people.... and he needs 'health care and rehabilitation'???
It doesn't matter what he's done since then. It's time for his punishment.
If you want him to be free then let him stay at your house. You'll find out what a teddy bear he is. For the rest of us, we'd rather see him punished as the law prescribed. I'm only sad that it took this long.

And I don't care if he had a kangaroo trial and is possibly innocent. Saliva is dripping from my mouth. just from thinking about it. I'm a fascist.

Nice try at posing as me. So... If I think the guy should be punished according to the law I'm a "fascist", right?
You guys have milked the word "fascist" to death, and the whole time you've never used the term properly.
Thank you for proving that our government run schools are a failure.

Nice try at posing as me. So... If I think the guy should be punished according to the law ( didn't slavery used to be legal?) I'm a "fascist" ( that being I believe in the total power of law enforcement even when the crime is questionable in a kangaroo court, like the trials for the Hitler judges and I like the idea of someone else dying), right?
You guys ( that's me) have milked the word "fascist" to death, and the whole time you've never used the term ( belief in the state as the authority rather than the will of the people and the idea of corporate supremacy) properly.
Thank you for proving that our government run schools are a failure.

Yanked this from Wikipedia, referencing two dictionaries:
Merriam-Webster defines fascism as "a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition"[1]. The American Heritage Dictionary instead describes it as "A system of government that exercises a dictatorship of the extreme right, typically through the merging of state and business leadership, together with belligerent nationalism."[2]. The narrowest possible definition of fascism is the specific ideology of Mussolini's fascist state in Italy.
-------
If you support the death penalty, presumably, you support the authority of the state to kill people.
