Schwarzenegger's Dreams of Dictators (Read Before You Vote!)

by Democracy4All Tuesday, Nov. 08, 2005 at 12:57 PM

In case you, your friends, or your family need another reason to vote "NO" on Propositions 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, and 78, consider these quotes from power-hungry Governor Arnold:

- - - - - - - - -

"I was always dreaming about very powerful people - dictators and things like that. I was just always impressed by people who could be remembered for hundreds of years, or even, like Jesus, be for thousands of years remembered." [as spoken in the 1977 film "Pumping Iron"]

- - - - - - - - -

"My relationship to power and authority is that I'm all for it. People need somebody to watch over them. Ninety-five percent of the people in the world need to be told what to do and how to behave." [from a 1990 interview with U.S. News]

- - - - - - - - -

(Both quotes are from http://politicalhumor.about.com/cs/schwarzenegger/a/aa080703.htm )

And don't forget that, as www.truthout.org reported in 2003, "The Los Angeles Times, in a recent investigation of [Arnold's] finances, estimated that his fortune far exceeded $200 million. This included real estate investments and a significant ownership in Dimensional Fund Advisors, a mutual fund company in Santa Monica that manages about $40 billion." (Learn more about Arnold at http://www.truthout.org/docs_03/081903G.shtml. Learn more about Dimensional Fund Advisors--which now manages more than $80 billion internationally--at www.dfaus.com. )

Arnold and his corporatist allies want power over YOU.

Please stop the power grab. Please vote this Tuesday. Please vote "NO" on Propositions 73 - 78.

And please spread the word.

Nothing Wrong

by Pachuco Tuesday, Nov. 08, 2005 at 1:52 PM

There is nothing wrong with having aspirations, nor looking up to role models.

Arnold is not that different from most people who seek fame and fortune.

We should not vote against Arnold because he aspires to be great.

We should vote against his initiatives because they pose a threat to the livelihood of many Californians and favor the elite that our sucking our economy dry.

Vote against the initiatives because they are faulty and will not solve our real problems - the under funded educational, medical and social systems of our state.

Vote against the initiatives because they will give more power to country's elite i.e. Bush, Cheney, et al of the Bohemian Grove mob.

95% need to be told what to do?

by johnk Tuesday, Nov. 08, 2005 at 10:35 PM

WTF kind of attitude is that?

95% of people self-regulate.
