400th Guy Fawkes Day is First World Peace Week

by John Leonard Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005 at 2:28 PM
info@unitingforpeace.com Joshua Tree, California

Very few people yet realize Guy Fawkes was set up to start a war on false pretexts - like most wars since. That's why we want to celebrate Peace Week on his day Nov 5th to Veterans Day Nov 11: To know more about war - means no more wars.

Why Celebrate World Peace Week
Nov. 5th to Nov. 11th.

It may seem hard to believe, but there is no widely recognized day, week or month for Peace on the US, UK or world calendars.

The number of martial feast days keeps growing, though. The US alone has half a dozen: Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Patriot Day (hopefully not named after the "Patriot Act," also born on Sept. 11th, Veterans' Day and Pearl Harbor Day.

There is no National Peace Month, Peace Week or Peace Day at all in the US, only occasional observations of the UN International Peace Day. It calls for a 24-hour ceasefire - and one minute of silence.
Hmm... Even if it ever happens - How many people will get killed in wars during the other 525,599 minutes of the year?

The problem here is that like most of the various unofficial peace observances and peace movements, the UN is mute about who or what is behind major wars. Since when was a tough problem ever solved with a general and vague approach that completely ignores the instigators?

Let's look at the warlike holidays then. At least as far back as Guy Fawkes Day, people have been asked to make and celebrate wars based on lies. Guy Fawkes was the original "fall guy," lured into a plot to bomb Parliament to fabricate the pretext that would incite the English to make war on Spain - uncannily the very same trick as the Reichstag Fire. 400 years of celebrations later, and very few people have any clue that the Gunpowder Plot was a fake staged by the government.

Neither the Taliban nor Saddam Hussein had anything to do with 9/11, yet the US Army is occupying Afghanistan and Iraq. When you look into the background of the rest of the cowardly bully made-up wars, there's nothing so glorious or victorious left to celebrate.

As for 11/11 and "1917 and all that" - the name of an online "untaught syllabus" - WWI was the project of the Anglo-American banking elite to eliminate Europe as a rival power center by destroying four empires: Austria-Hungary, Germany, Russia and Turkey, as Progressive Press author Webster Tarpley notes in his Versailles Thesis online.

In the same masterstroke of divide-and-conquer politics, Britain took Palestine from Turkey in 1917 to create a beachhead that would split Asia from Africa and be colonized by Jews from Europe. This was the opening salvo in a so-called "Clash of Civilizations between the West and Islam," that has now taken its toll of 2,000 more American lives in Iraq.

Wall Street also financed both the 1917 Bolshevik victory and Hitler's war machine, leading to the carnage of WW2. These acts of treachery of a planetary order are the thing to remember on Veterans Day.

There are similar stories with all the other "foreign wars" - see a brief list at the end of our Petition. In the incredible shrinking world of the modern era, where Man's ingenuity dominates Nature in every field, the phenomenon of mass warfare simply is not spontaneous either. These catastrophes are premeditated.

This is why we celebrate World Peace Week from Nov. 5 - Nov. 11, on this 400th anniversary of planned warfare, and every year hereafter until so many people know the facts that the culprits cannot continue to hoodwink mankind.

Existing Peace Holidays
The UN has declared Sept. 21
International Peace Day, and World Peace Month is usually, but not universally set in September as well. The YMCA's World Peace Day comes around Nov. 19, at the end of Canada's YMCA World Peace Week.
Peace With Justice Week is commonly celebrated in October, but can be anytime. A general trend around the Fall season emerges from all these dates. The overall effect, or perhaps lack of same, is diffused and ad hoc.
The world religions do pray for peace on earth (as well as inner peace) in their holidays and hymns. Indeed, the name Islam itself is based on the word for peace. Like the rest of the world generally, all they want is to be friends and do business with us. The last thing they want is war with us - regardless of all the propaganda.
