October 22nd Protest in Santa Ana

by October 22nd via a list Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005 at 1:34 PM
uprising at sbcglobal.net

JOIN US SAT. OCT 22ND IN SANTA ANA TIME: tba MEET WHERE WE HAVE IN THE PAST--AT CORNER OF BRISTOL AND EDINGER, to march to the santa ana police dept.

~~~~please repost EVERYWHERE~~~
every year, the community members, youth, black block, etc. join together for OCTOBER 22ND protest to speak out against the very personal experiences of police repression in their very streets.
LAST YEAR, on october 22nd, 5 protestors were detained and cited, 4 of which were arrested, and at least one of which rcv'd a healthy dose of brutality upon the arrest, leaving one arrestee on crutches for the next cuople of weeks, and over a dozen contusions. Friendly POLICE also body slammed and threw to the ground several other bystanders and protesters.
THIS YEAR, WE WILL NOT BACK DOWN. WE WILL NOT BE BULLIED OFF OF OUR STREETS!!!
JOIN US SAT. OCT 22ND IN SANTA ANA
TIME: tba
MEET WHERE WE HAVE IN THE PAST--AT CORNER OF BRISTOL AND EDINGER, to march to the santa ana police dept.
SOME PEOPLE honestly became skeptical of whether or not to return, especially when the SAPD, made a VERY CLEAR STATEMENT TO PROTESTORS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS ~~NOT TO COME BACK~~~with several of last years' protestors currently on probationary terms and such as blackmail to keep us off the streets.
BUT, WE WILL BE BACK, AND OUR STRUGGLE WILL CONTINUE.
JOIN US, all of our fucking bullhorns are still in SAPD custody from last year, so bring DRUMS, VOICES, MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, BLACK BANDANAS---and SPIRIT to this community demonstration coming up this OCT 22nd.
JUST AS A REMINDER--this is the same police dept. that OPENLY guilty of MANUFACTURING CRACK COCAINE AND SELLING IT 2 BLOCKS AWAY FROM JR. HIGH SCHOOL as part of a "sting" operation, among many other crimes; the same police dept. who guns down and kills fleeing teenagers of mexican descent with no apologies; etc.
by Another Bearded Lefty Monday, Oct. 17, 2005 at 7:12 AM
Only a block away, but the tacos aren't nearly so good. Is this some kind of protest against El Gallo Giro?
by Howard Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005 at 3:39 AM
NOON. That's twelve o'clock, the one when the sun is still out.
McFadden and Bristol, just look for lots of Mexicans, a few Mexican flags, you get the picture. A smart guy like you should have no trouble.
