Nader rocks. thanks for the tip. I'll be there.
I had to miss this event, sorry :-(
Is there a summary or transcript to be found anywhere?
civilizedcontact@yahoo.com
I recorded Nader's speech and will post it at this site. It may take a little while to transcribe as the event was over two hours long.
Dude that would be so cool! I'm depending on you for an honest transcription or whatever you'd call it for the speech. I regret not being at the event itself but I plan on going to events like these.
I try to quote people verbatim, even if it means including awkward grammar. (Although there is a limit to how awkward I'll let the grammar get.)
Most changes in wording are enclosed in brackets so the reader will know what's authentic and what isn't. For me, it's much more time-consuming to write this way. It entails listening to the recordings several times to ensure accuracy. However, as a reader, I hate it when quotes are distorted, and I I know it's done. Editors and cowriters have done it to my work.
I hope I haven't bored you to death.
You can see a recent sample of my writing that was posted last week under Neoliberalism. It's a two-part report regarding Haiti.
There are typos in it, and I have to fix some of the links,
but I made a big effort to be as literal as possible.
That's okay Some_Dude, just go at your pace, don't hurry just 'cause of me. I just wish I was there. There may be a recording or video of the speech that will turn up, I hope.
The LA Sound Posse was there, so an audio recording might become available.
I hope so. I'll try to keep a look out for that. Post if you see anything.
