The solders in the war against the Iraqi people have found a new way to violate the Geneva Convention. The Geneva Convention requires respect for "the remains of persons who have died for reasons related to occupation or in detention resulting from occupation or hostilities and those of persons not nationals of the country in which they have died as a result of hostilities."

Yet, members of the occupational force are publishing photos on www.nowthatsfuckedup.com for access to porn sections. Below are a few examples of these photos. The pictures are being posted to expose the criminal nature of the acts and to help build a movement that will demand that the terrorist actions of the United States be stopped and the criminal elements within Iraq be withdrawn immediately. Though many of the pictures did not come with explanations, there are pictures here, and more on the site with US troops posing with deceased Iraqis. Further, whether the individuals were killed by US troops, or by the defenders of the Middle East, US Solders are forbidden to post the pictures in a disrespectful manner (such as on an adult internet site). There is one picture that I did alter, the one of the young lady that the solder took that exposed here genitalia and wound at the same time. I did not feel that here genitalia was of significance and that there was no reason to post it uncensored.

Where would YOU be if this war was in America? I could bet you would probably be out protesting it! AM I RIGHT? You would probably get your stupid self shot and we wouldn't have to worry about people like you , and your freedom of speech that my husband, brothers, friends, a loved ones fight for.

Do you think our soldiers have freedom of speech over there? NOPE, because they are more worried about their lives and protecting the lives of others to worry about such a little thing? A domestic war is not the same as an invasion.

Invasions tend to cause people to fight the invasion, and are willing to take heavy casualties. That's just reality. People put aside their differences to fight the invader, and that's exactly what would happen here. A lot of leftists would take arms to repel the invader.

Likewise, in Iraq, though we had a lot of support from people hostile to Saddam, there were also a lot of people who joined in the resistance, despite their differences. Many of our supporters are now, no longer eager supporters, and almost everyone there wishes the US to leave. Eventually, the political winds will really shift, and the resistance will start actively recruiting among US allies. (I'm certain they already accept people who switch sides, but at some point they will recruit.)

Then, we're really done for. End of game. No "two year exit plans" because the entire situation will fall apart. The logistics of the occupation will become known, and it'll be unsafe.

The Iraqis have, reportedly, lost over 600,000 lives (on all sides), while we're only at 2,700 or so. With numbers like that, there's no way the US can "win" anything. Pretty soon, they will lose nearly 10% of their population to this war. The US, and by extension, Western Democracy, will have no credibility.

Invading other countries to "spread democracy" has as much legitimacy as the USSR had in invading countries to spread communism. In fact, it has even less legitimacy, because, at least the USSR waited until there were some communist revolutionaries in the country before conducting the invasion.

The only way to spread democracy is from below. Like they did in South Africa, where, things are still screwed, but they did manage to change the government without a coup, and without a full-blown civil war. They got support from people all over the world, including people in the USA. For that the people who helped can be proud.

The government of the USA, however, cannot be proud, because this country ignored all requests by the democratic forces in South Africa to carry out a sanction against the state. By ignoring the request, the administration effectively helped prop up apartheid while the popular sentiment was to tear it down.

The lesson in this is that democracy must be built from the ground up.

The other lesson is that if the administration says they're "spreading democracy," they're probably making it up.

Pictures such as these, pictures from abu ghraib, the story of the 14 year old Iraqi girl Abeer raped and killed along with her family in mahmoudiyah by US soldiers, are just the tip of the iceberg. It is becoming obvious now that human rights violations are taking place on a daily basis in Iraq, and contrary to popular misconception, most of it is down to US soldiers rather than "insurgents" or secterian conflict. Its just a shame the internet wasnt mainstream when US soldiers were commiting attrocities in Vietnam.

First of all I would like to point out only the people who have served in a war or have family, friends, or relatives serving in the war can even begin to speak about the wars truths. Pictures such as these are shocking and heart-breaking. But this is the reality of war. You could find similar pictures from any conflict over the past 100 years from all around the world, not just in Iraq. The problem is, the majority of people in the western world recognise certain conflicts (e.g. Serbia/Bosnia 1990s, Rwanda 1990s) as unjust, but seem to think that the war in Iraq is just and honourable and necessary. Nothing could be further from the truth. At first, the war was being sold as a means of revenge for 9/11 and to root out terrorists. This was ridiculous as Iraq had no connection to 9/11, in fact Saddam was hated by men like Bin laden and Zawahiri as he was more a socialist secular leader than a religious one. Then the war was being sold as a means of ridding him of weapons of mass destruction. This again was nonsense. No WMDs were ever recovered. The republican neo-conservative elite conveniently ignored reports that Saddam was a fading threat rather than an emerging one and fabricated all sorts of stories to try to drum up support for this illegal invasion. It was only when all these claims were proven to be wrong that the tagline was changed to "Liberating Iraqi People". Well, 4 years since the invasion, Iraq does not look liberated at all, countless lives have been lost by US bombing bloodbaths of "shock and awe", trigger happy US soldiers, and the recently ignited spate of sectarian violence and criminal violence. Saddam was no angel but the simple truth is, for those Iraqis that kept out of politics, they lived reasonably comfortable lives under Saddam. It was a fully functioning state. Even most the horror stories attributed to Saddams originated from the 1980s when Saddam was an ALLY of the US. Quite ironic how the US thinks it can punish someone who it helped to keep in power. The US government provided support to Saddam as it saw him as a stable secular ally against Iran, even though everyone knew perfectly well what was going on in his country (e.g persecution of Kurds etc). Such double standards and hypocrisy is enough to make anyone sick. The Neo-conservative chicken hawks (Bush, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, Bolton) lied to the people about WMDs, lied about links to international terrorism, lied about the Iraqi people welcoming US soldiers as liberators and lied about oil and geographical location not being major factors behind this war. Iraq holds the second largest oil reserves in the world, and oil is running out. It is absolutely naive to think oil had no impact on the decision for war. Iraq was also seen as a convenient base and jump off point to monitor and possibly invade countries such as Iran. It was also done to prevent China from accessing that black gold called oil that it also desparately needs. There were many reasons for the war, but none of them noble. The "insurgency" in Iraq is a resistance movement plain and simple, most Iraqis resent the US and want them OUT. No amount of installed puppet politicians or theatrical hangings will change this simple fact. Certain powerful and shadowy figures in and around the White House need to accept that this was a doomed policy from the start. Even after the illegal invasion based on lies, I think the US could have made some progress if they continued the occupation with some humility and compromise, but did they do this? No they didnt. Catastrophic errors were made. The US dismantled a fully functioning state, and dismissed most of the civil workforce. This was an act of utter stupidity. The campaign of "shock and awe" was also utter stupidity. The US making marines immune from international courts was also utter stupidity. What kind of message did this send out? Particularly after incidents such as Haditha where US soldiers tied and shot Iraqi civilians dead in cold blood in their homes, the massacres in Fallujah, the rape and massacres in mahmoudiyah, the rapes in southern Baghdad, the horrors of Abu Ghraib etc. What the hell did they think would happen?? What would happen if a nation invaded the US, carpet bombed the cities, then dismantled the Army, Police Force, Civil workforce etc. You;d see chaos. You;d see crime. You'd see the KKK and Arian Nation fighting ethnic groups. You'd see Bloods and Crips gang violence, Hispanic gang violence, Mob influence and violence etc. Any nation would fall into chaos after this. look at what happened in New Orleans after the floods. Judging from the quality of the photos, many of these were shot by the media, who have photographers crawling all over the place after the bullets fly. Ok, i believe that the "PeaceKeeping" in iraq and afghnistan is rather unjust, but compared to thier living conditions before, i would believe that the civilians will be ultimatley muuch more grateful. The only area that i believe is unstabalizable is afghanistan because of the pre- existing tribal society. A regimented, westren govvernment will not work, as proven by the soviets puppet govenmnent. The losses sustained by the civilians in these warzones is horrific, but in the long run i believe this all will be for the greater good.
