Legal action against Joseph Turner, director of SOS, is there a case?
Joseph Turner, executive director of Save Our State has made statements to the press which could be actionable. Here is an excerpt: The last rally cost the city nearly $100,000, Baldwin Park Mayor Manuel Lozano said. Turner said he hopes to cost Baldwin Park as much money as possible to pressure the city to change the monument. "If we come back 10 times,' he said, "it'll cost them a million dollars.” Source: http://www.sgvtribune.com/Stories/0,1413,205~12220~2934402,00.html The City of Baldwin Park could have a civil case against Turner if they can show he did with malice and forethought deliberately conspire to cause financial damage to the city. That he conspired with others and organized events for the purpose of inflicting harm to the City of Baldwin Park. To do this is not free speech, it a violation of civic code. To conspire to cause economic damage to a public body or private incorporation is considered unfair business practice. And there are laws to guard against this. If Turner has crossed that line, then he has exposed himself and every member of his organization to possible legal action by the City of Baldwin Park.

See: http://www.sbindymedia.org/newswire/display/2434/index.php "We will "inflict more economic damage; against empire and against the systemic war machine. This is the new face of the anti-war movement."" You better tell your friends not to write such stuff if you intend to use the same thing against SOS. But where has consistency of thought and action ever occured on the left anyhow...

Another fake ass "american native" tries to fart out some stupidity about suing Mexico and FOX.
Hello, dumbass, if it wasn't for the U.S. corporations that close shop over here and open shop in Mexico to exploit their labor, then you wouldn't have the problem of U.S. workers losing their jobs and Mexican leaving Mexico because they can't live on $1/hr with no benefits from a Honeywell maquiladora. These SOS'ers are so stupid they focus on the consequence of the issue rather than its real cause. Most of them lack the balls to stand up to corporations anyways.

As for the lame come-back in the first comment above about the anti-war movement: There is a difference between obstructing the war machine through consumer boycotts and stopping recruitment (which is what has been one of the successes of the movement by the way) AND purposely wasting tax -payer dollars by incurring civic expenses for police and what-not in a municipality like Baldwin Park.
Gee, after talking to a few SOS'ers in Alhambra last week I thought ya'll were against the war too. But I always knew you were lying just like the president. ..If the hat fits...

These white supremist shitheaps have the Constitutional rights to demonstrate their unamerican, racist ideologies as they please, and the ACLU has fought for these people's rights and won numerous times.
What a DA's office would need to do to nab the ringleaders would be to file RICO predicate violations covering the terrorist death threats that the SOS / MM et al. white supremists issued against the City's elected officials. All citizens can do is pressure the DA's office and the City of Baldwin Park to drag the ringleaders into the trials against them and their followers for the terrorist threats.

>My ancestors and myself have fought for the right to voice my concerns against disingenous and subversive countercultures.
Your ancestors were fascists.
Fascists fight for the "right" to voice concerns against "subversive countercultures." They fight for continued domination.
True liberty is to allow the subversive countercultures to speak.

True liberty is allowing loonies like certain racists ignoraters to capper and make social horse droppings of themselves in a peaceful community. Huh?

I think fools should be free to be.
On the other hand, I'm trying to look up information about the legal issues raised above. Any pointers into the law are appreciated.
I believe that it *is* an unfair business practice to conspire to cost a business money. That's an argument that came out during the early days of anti-spam.
There's liberty, and there's what SOS are doing.

The appropriate response in an organized method of shame would be to let them have their little rally while they were confronted by the backs of the these incited racists. I just believe that many of these people have once again chosen the typical vulnerable target group as the only way to justify a crazy world of lies and deliberate hate strategies. So damn bad because we could use some of that outrage in union against this cabal of criminals who pluck the strings of these organizations whether or not they know it. Look who benefits and who loses.

Interesting label, that. "Subversive countercultures..." As opposed to the superior mainstream culture that invades innocent countries in the name of Jesus Christ, slaughters over 100,000 innocent people, half of them kids, many of them babies, in the name of "liberation" and "Democracy." "Subversive countercultures" as opposed to neo-Nazi fascist hate mongers who email and telephone hundreds of terrorist death threats in to a city's elected officials, terrorists that come in from out of town and out of state to vent their racist hatred and bigotry, and racist scumbags that run over peaceful anti-hate protesters.
Interesting.
Well, compared to these SOSMM scumbags, looks like those "subversive countercultures" are actually living up to the American ideals of tolerance, diversity, the rule of law, equality for all, and all the other progressive, "subersive" ideals that makes America great. Compared to what these hate mongering bigots stand for, give me "subversive countercultures" every time. The alternative is something our fathers and grand fathers saw circa 1930 through 1947.

So my ancestors were fascists that fought and died during the revolutionary war? My ancestors are fasicists that fought and died in the war of 1812? My ancestors are fascists that fought and died in the civil war? My ancestors are fascists that fought and died in two world wars and split a family apart during Vietnam?
I'm a fascist because my nation, was the nation, amongst nations, to provide a platform for the right of the governed, to be governed by themselves?
I'm a Fascist, because I believe in the truth, instead of lies?

Would you be so kind as to provide text of this manual? Only thing I noticed was a tendency for the police to again use a containment tactic directed at percieved threats.

By all means, let's encourage the government to selectively use the "threat" of economic damage to shut down political demonstrations. What a brillant, and freedom-loving, tactic for us to employ! And they'll certainly never use it against us, because...well, they just won't, darn it!
