Save Our State holds protests Home Depot
Saturday, June 18, 2005 - ALHAMBRA -- About 250 people turned out to protest Home Depot on Saturday, charging the company supports illegal immigration, police said.
Save Our State, which organized a protest in Baldwin Park last month against a monument they perceived as anti-American, organized the demonstration at a Home Depot store on Marengo Avenue in Alhambra.
The group rallied throughout the morning, Alhambra police said. No arrests or injuries were reported.

Although the numbers might be off (there were about 130 or so communist, reconquista demonstrators and about 30 or so SoS supporters, what exactly is wrong with the article. SoS came to oppose Home Depot's racially slanted hiring practices and support of illegal immigration.

The whole article is wrong since they stated the numbers being in support of SOS.
I believe it is an error with the reporting and not intentional. Although, there is NO EXCUSE for an error like that to be printed in any city-run newspaper. Just goes to show you how little those in the press actually investigate what they are reporting.
Unfortunate.

I doubt that the mistake was deliberate. It's just what's to be expected from what passes for journalism in Republican-owned news outlets these days. Shoddy work is accepted among the less well educated readership who are incapable of critical thought in the first place, so news stories that contain such blatant mistakes like this one isn't unique. It's one of the reasons why printed main stream media is becoming more and more obsolete and unable to pay their bills. Less and less people believe the mainstream media with each exposure of their Republinazi bias. And I also see how that lovely True American Hero Hal Ketkin and his fellow white supremist supporters and defenders are trying to some how justify his alleged vehicular assault against peaceful anti-hate protesters, maybe trying to head off an expected civil lawsuit or two, or maybe trying to lay the groundwork for another assault against peaceful protesters -- I can't tell since I don't watch Republinazi propaganda (which includes FOX "News.") I'd expect the piece to be akin to "WACO: The Big Lie" and other right-wing neo-Nazi propaganda rhetoric. I wonder if these hate mongers actually think anybody actually believes them. Any way, my note to the paper: http://www.pasadenastarnews.com/Stories/0,1413,206~22097~2928487,00.html Greetings. This story is incorrect. The "Save Our State" / "Minutemen" racists nubered some where around 10 individuals, not 250. The anti-hate counter protesters who were _opposing_ these racists numbered around 250 or so. Would your offices _please_ post a correction? We don't want white supremists thinking they're more popular than they are, and we certainly don't want people to think that they weren't profoundly opposed. You can contact the Southern Poverty Law Center for some of the background into what really took place. As it is, I'm curious how your story's author managed to get it so wrong. Thanks.

According to the article itself, the PSN got the information from "the police." I guess they couldn't be bothered to send a real reporter to the event. But who needs to hire reporters when some unnamed source in some unnamed police department will make up stories for you for free?

"The police" is a good, solid, reliable source. }:-}
I would expect that the reason they didn't do their homework is because of the cost involved in actually researching the article.
It's part of the growing reasons why few intelligent people believe the mainstream media any more.

Hi, Fredric L. Rice, but you can call me Freddy. I'm well known in these parts. And many people think I'm a piece of piece of human excrement, and I can't help but agree sometimes. I mean just look at me. I really suck. Sorry, don't believe anything I say as it's all utter bull.

Since confession is good for the soul, I want to jump on the bandwagon and follow Freddy Rice's lead. I'm not just human excrement, I'm freakin' diarrhea! I have no idea why I'm here, but I suspect Satan must have wiped me off his bum one day. Oh yeah, I'm a child molester and I love it! Also, my followers and me like to impersonate people who disagree with us whenever their arguments get too good. ;) Gotto go, Macaulay's waitin....

Tommy the Torry has been seen at various protests with a huge GW Bush portrait which reads "Liberator of Iraq" seen supporting SOS at Alhambra But SOS members HATE GW Bush for his alleged pro-illegal policies and his friendship with V. Fox. I guess it's not that hard to totally fool Joe Turner. Tommy the Torry: http://la.indymedia.org/uploads/sos_7.jpg
