By Jose Gracielo Fernandez. BALDWIN PARK, CA - The multi-ethnic civil rights group SaveOurState will return to Baldwin Park, California, on June 25 following its victory over hate groups in the town on May 14, 2005.

SaveOurState will protest hate speech, racism and racial supremacist organizations.

On its first visit to the town, protesting the divisive language of a Baldwin Park monument, SaveOurState withstood violent attacks from a radical ethnic separatist assemblage. An elderly SOS member was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit of a local hospital -- to the cheers of the opposition throng -- after being struck in the head by a missile hurled by an angry counter-protestor. No arrests were made in connection with the shocking act of racial thuggery.

The diverse civil rights marchers were outnumbered 10 to 1 by the separatist mob, according to estimates.

Counter-protestors, some wielding swastikas, also showered racial epithets on the SaveOurState activists. Present were a large contingent of militants who style themselves the Brown Berets de Aztlan.

The Brown Berets, a paramilitary racial supremacist group, deliberately invoke the image of Hitler’s infamous Brownshirts, and share similar anti-Semitic and separatist views. The gang has a history of racially motivated attacks on Americans. Arrayed with them in Baldwin Park were a variety of other hate groups.

Joseph Turner, president of SaveOurState, writes on saveourstate.org, that “[t]he racial hatred that seethed from the crowd that gathered to protest against us was stifling. The attack they waged against one of our peaceful protestors was reprehensible. Their desecration of an American flag was unforgivable.”

The virulent racism and hate-speech of the opposition protestors went unmentioned in the Mainstream Media.
