Disney KABC Radio in Los Angeles Targets Mexicans

Continuous anti-Mexican hate propaganda by a Disney

owned radio station in Los Angeles has become

intolerable to millions of Mexican-Americans in

Southern California prompting a boycott of its

advertisers. Radio KABC 790 AM's constant day and

night tirade against Mexican immigrants,

Mexican-Americans and other Latinos has many citizens

of Mexican descent worried that the radio station may

cause more serious ethnic conflicts and hate crimes

in the area. The Los Angeles region has recently

experienced three race related riots at local high

schools and four separate and unsolved shootings on

the area's freeways by unknown assailants that some

experts believe may be race related.

The constant and vicious hate rhetoric against

Mexicans by the various talk show xenophobes at KABC

has prompted the formation of the "STOP Anti-Mexican

Hate Radio Coalition" which is calling for a boycott

of the products and services of those businesses that

advertise on KABC radio. The coalition has collected

a list of most of the businesses that advertise on

KABC along with their toll free telephone numbers.

coalition is asking the community to call the

businesses on the list to express concern that the

hate propaganda against Mexicans on KABC radio may

result in more hate crimes and murders of Mexicans,

Mexican-Americans and other Latinos. The coalition is

asking the community to emphasise to the businesses

that they will be boycotted until they stop

supporting anti-Mexican radio programming at KABC.

There is no question that constant ethnic hate

mongering over the airwaves can have dire

consequences for those groups that are targeted. A

perfect recent example is what occurred during the

Rwandan genocide of 1994 when a radio station calling

itself "Voice of the Patriot" and another called

"Radio Mille Collines" instigated the massacre of

tens of thousands of Africans. Here in the USA, hate

mongering against Afro-Americans has resulted in a

series of horrific hate crime against the group. Just

this morning, for example, a vicious radio talk jock

by the name of Bill Handel said something over the

airwaves that should infuriate every Afro-American in

Los Angeles. Handel, angry that Police Chief William

J. Bratton may take action against the cop that beat

a Black man with a flashlight said, " the cop should

have parked his flashlight up his anus!" Any

The Mexican immigrant community has already suffered

a series of unsolved hate crimes due, in large

measure, to the hostile anti-Mexican environment

created by hate radio. Among these is the

cold-blooded bludgeoning to death of a Mexican mother

and daughter in Fremont, California on February of

2004. Another heinous hate crime occurred in

Baltimore, Maryland on May, 2004 when three Mexican

children were decapitated. Yet another recent case

occurred last September in Columbus, Ohio when ten

Mexican immigrants were burned to death when

arsonists set their rented apartment building on fire.

None of these cases, nor many others in prior years,

have been solved by police authorities. La Voz de

The "demonization" of Mexican immigrants and

Mexican-Americans by KABC radio is having extremely

detrimental affects in our quality of life and we

should not stand idle by and take it. There is a very

effective way to fight back against the bigots at

KABC. Radio stations depend on advertising dollars to

survive. Cut their advertising and they die.

Advertisers in turn depend on customers and can not

afford negative publicity. A few hundred calls to a

KABC advertiser would be enough for them to drop KABC.

Businesses in the Los Angeles area know that Mexican

immigrants, Mexican-Americans and other Latinos now

make a large percentage of all consumers in the area.

The advertisers can not afford to antagonize this

large and growing segment of the market. The list of

advertisers along with their toll free telephone

numbers is published at "KABC ADVERTISERS". The

"STOP Anti-Mexican Hate Radio Coalition" suggests

that you refer to the "Talking Points" at

speaking with the advertisers.

Disney's KABC Hate Talk Radio is on the 790 AM

frequency channel. It features five talk jocks who

hold extremely prejudiced views of Mexicans. The

worst of these anti-Mexican xenophobes are Doug

McIntyre, Bill O'reilly, Al Rantel, Sean Hannity and

Larry Elder They all support the Minutemen border

vigilantes and have given Chris Simcox, an Arizona

criminal, an exorbitant amount of air time to

propagandise and to recruit vigilantes. Al Rantel has

undertaken a fundraising campaign for the Minutemen

utilizing the Disney owned radio station. Sean

Hannity joined Chris Simcox at the Arizona/Mexico

border to lend support to the vigilantes through the

radio station. Indirectly, it is the advertisers that

are paying for the airtime that is being used to

demonize Mexicans.

There are many other anti-Mexican hate talk jocks at

other radio stations. The "STOP Anti-Mexican Hate

Radio Coalition" wants to focus on one of the worst

and use KABC 790 AM - Los Angeles as an example and

warning to the others. If the coalition is successful

in stopping anti-Mexican programming at KABC, other

stations will surely take notice. La Voz de Aztlan

Nativeo, you and La Voz de Aztlan should really hang out together some time. You'd learn that you're both superficial racists, and that, people like you might have different skin colors, but deep down, you're both racists.

You could get together, kind of like how the Aryan white prison gangsters, and the Mexican Mafia prison gangsters sometimes unite, and develop some new kinds of racism against African and Asian people. Maybe you could hone the Jew-hate.

Your hopes and dreams are, ultimately, the same.

This bond could be the basis for a positive future, of an alliance between the white people and the almost-white people who think they have a shot at regional dominance through nationalism and demographics.

With all respect you are the problem not the radio stations. Mr. handel is an equal oppurtunity basher. any one ergardless of sex, age, or race can be a targe of his tongue. The minute men are not vigilantes. They carry no weapons and are often the target of rocks gns and Molatov bottle bombs. I have listen to these stations for years and their theme is not against Mexican-Americans. It is against illegal immigration from any source. It is just that peope of Hispanic descent are the most numerous members of illegal immigrants in the area of southern Calfornia and therefore the easiest target. The government of Mexico has 40,000 armed soldiers on their southern border with a policy of ready, shoot, aim to keep illegal immigrates crossing the border.

What would happen if I tried to get a job in Mexico? This massive flow of illegal immigration suppresses wage, overloads the social support structures of the community and de factos supports the violaton of the law. There are many components to a society. A common language, a recognize border, and compliance with a codified set of rules which we all agree to, i.e. a stop sign on a long stretch of open road at 3 A.M.is still the law no matter how inconvient it maybe to our ultimate goal and desires.

I work in an industry that is heavily employees Hispanic, maybe as much as 95% of our work force.

They are great employees and I understand why they come here to work. We have a young man, 18. who is currently the sole support for his family because of the condition in his home state. But this massive labor pool suppress wages for all of us. This massive immigration also continues to exasperate the core issue which is are predominate throughout Mexico. Mexico is a country rich in almost as many natural resources as the U.S.. As long as you have the pressure relief of America things for the masses will never change. It will never become the nation Zapata envisioned. As long as they are allowed to export their problem, an abundant, enthusiatic, willing but severly underpaid work force, they will never attain their true destiny.

The problem is not the "hate radio" you speak of but the inability of all of us to step outside ourselves and look at what is really happening. The United States is being asked to support, without public consent, portions of other countries. These countries are being deprived of a large capable work force. At least billion, about $ 16 billion to Mexico alone, is being extracted from our economy. Our social infrastructure, schools, hospitals etc. are being stretched beyond capaticity.

Exporting the problems of a country doesn't change the problem it only exsapartes and extends the timeline of resolution. By delaying the resolution of Mexico's intrenal problems, extreme concentraton of wealth, corruption, lack of access to resources and limited social mobility creates an envorment in whch it seems that only the most extreme measures will resolve the problem. Extremes at any end of social activism always leaves out those whom they claim to be helping. Two examples for the U.S. are the Civil War which still reverberate through our society and the removal of U.S. troops from Vietnam which lead to the death of at least 4 million people of vietnam, Laos, Camboda, and Siam.

The idea that people who go somewhere to work drains resources is illogical.

There are basically three stages in your life, with regard to work. As a child, as a working adult, and as an older person unable to work. During the first and last periods, you're not a productive worker, and basically live off the labor of the working adults. As a whole, disregarding differences in wages, the adult working population presently supports the other two groups.

In the most general sense, this is now ALL westernized industrial societies work, regardless of what kind of economic system you have, the amount of poverty you have, or other details.

Thus, anything that enlarges this working adult population necessarily contributes to the economy. This includes undocumented workers.

The cost of educating their kids and taking care of their parents is going to be reduced by the fact that these people may live in their home country, where the cost of living is lower. Even if the costs of this are considered, the workers will still produce more than triple what they use.

The real problem is the distribution of the wealth. More on that later, if anyone cares.

Of COURSE the flood of illegal immigrants drains resources. The adult, stage two workers, if you will simply don't earn enough to support their unusually high (check birthrate statistics) families and certainly don't earn enough to pay for their own retirement when they stop earning.

The first two stages, as you describe them, are almost exclusively supported by society. Go into ANY inner city food market and you'll obviously see the vast majority of shoppers paying with foodstamps and WIC cards. Your stage two guys, working under the table in many cases, are simply not contributing to that subsidization.

The entire pro-illegal immigrant case has been reduced to one last feeble argument. And that's the silly and clearly unfounded claims of racism.

The math of the problem is very elementary and irrefutable.

When a LARGE group of people enter a system and require more resources then they contribute back, there will be, of course, a negative resource flow.

And it's hardly racist to see that.

Both the left and the right are guilty of feeding off of and perpetuating the issue. Both gain from illegal immigration while the average joe taxpayer is getting fucked on the deal.

That's if you limit the scope to undocumented workers. If you limited the scope to poor Americans, you'd also see a drain. You could even do something like limit it to single parent households, or disabled people, and you'd see a drain.

If you have a society with inequality, then some people are going to be poor and qualify for more welfare. The amount of welfare they get isn't exceeding their contribution to the economy, if they are working and producing.

You shouldn't measure their wealth contribution by tallying up their taxes. Most of them are poor, and the taxes they pay are low. Instead, you have to consider the value of the product or service they produce. If a worker produces 0,000 worth of value to the company, that's their contribution to the economy. Even if they get paid ,000, and pay ,500 in taxes. There's still the other k in wealth they helped created, and weren't paid for.

One reason why they're so poor, and cause wage drops when they enter a market, is because they have the "illegal" status, and create a split labor market. More realistic immigration law is one solution. If there were more ways to immigrate, the workers would have more rights, and their pay would rise because they'd have more bargaining leverage.

Also, a note about retirement and large families -- a large family is a way to have a retirement. The kids can help pay for the parents' expenses.
