EBay takes a stand in opposition to the United States’ Pledge of Allegiance. Starting February 2, 2005, customers can no longer log onto eBay to purchase the USA’s national pledge. The Customer and Support department of eBay explains their position. “[E]Bay is now a worldwide community, with many of its users residing in countries where the possession or sale of items associated with …the Nazi Party is a criminal offense.” Germany, France, and other nations from the European Union prohibit any display affiliated with the Nazi Party. Currently, the E.U. calls for a Nazi display ban throughout Europe.
Such bans serve as a shock to many ill-formed U.S. citizens. Tomas Carbisier reports in Rexcurry that millions of U.S. citizens are unaware that the Nazis Party fanatical salute originated from the U.S.A. Pledge of Allegiance. “Many Europeans know more about the USA’s pledge than does the typical U.S. citizen. That is because U.S. schools teach propaganda. ” The United States government propagated ‘patriotism’ and obedience by forcing students to recite the national pledge. It was previously a daily ritual for students to give the flag a military salute that ended with the right arm extended outwards. Hitler later adopted this practice into his zealous Aryan nation campaign.
However, customers question the sincerity of the current ban. Student Juanita Ruiz-Castillo states, “If eBay bans the display of the U.S.A. Pledge of Allegiance, then any product associated with George Bush should be ban also. After all, his great-grandfather funded the Nazi Party.” George W. Bush’s great- grandfather, Samuel Bush donated large sums of money to Adolf Hitler from 1926 to 1942. In return, he received a $1.5 million profit.
Clearly, the customers as well as the Global Movement must analyze the European Union’s and eBay’s true intent. The European Union is not sincere about preventing nations from becoming another Nazi Germany. In addition, the E.U. is not concern about protecting the world’s people from racist indoctrinations. If this was the case, nations from the European Union would not contribute their military power in the unjust war in Iraq. Above all, the war would never continue into its second year. The world’s people must point out the hypocrisy of the system and analyze their position within the movement because another world is possible.
