The amount of methane being added to the atmosphere is minimal in comparison to CO2. Highway vehicles, airliners and power plants release CO2. Cows and humans release methane... unpleasent but minimal volume, thankfullly.

methane has increased MORE than CO2 since last century---100%--vs. 30%
sources are becoming known, in the last few yrs., and are not just farts&cows. Mining, compost, garbage, naturalgas extraction, even swamps and PLASTIC decomposition(which originally is from oil).
The spotlight is on CO2 because of the sheer quantity released(GTons vs. MTons--for ch4) but Most is readily absorbed by plants and the oceans. Apparently only 2% of CO2 in the atmosphere, after absorption, comes from people. For methane--guess where it all goes? UP (its very light).
