Many other sources of gas to fill the sky and create the greenhouse effect besides oil. Dja know that methane--CH4--is 100X more potent than the dasturdly CO2 in fucking things up up there?,,H's got it, k?
GaRBaj man,..decomposing socks, grittygreasy porkbones(with hair&dirt&driedsaliva on it), plastic--the CHx hidden demon, and the paper/cardboard family are all sinisterly involved. Conspiratorially Involved in the destruction of our wasteful way of life and our ultimate subjecation under SOCIALISM!! FUCKTHAT!!
make recycling and composting attractive by charging each household by weight. nothing else will work.
" How do we know CO2 in the atmosphere is increasing? And that humans are responsible?
... Careful measurements have confirmed that CO2 is increasing in the atmosphere and that human activities are the primary cause. CO2 measurements have been taken directly from the atmosphere over the past few decades. CO2 trends for earlier times have been derived from measurements of CO2 trapped in air bubbles in glacial or polar ice. The 30% increase in atmospheric CO2 observed since pre-industrial times cannot be explained by natural causes. CO2 concentrations have varied naturally throughout Earth’s history. However, CO2 concentrations are now higher than any seen in at least the past 450,000 years."
http://www.cmdl.noaa.gov/infodata/faq_cat-3.html The amount of methane being added to the atmosphere is minimal in comparison to CO2. Highway vehicles, airliners and power plants release CO2. Cows and humans release methane... unpleasent but minimal volume, thankfullly.

methane has increased MORE than CO2 since last century---100%--vs. 30%
sources are becoming known, in the last few yrs., and are not just farts&cows. Mining, compost, garbage, naturalgas extraction, even swamps and PLASTIC decomposition(which originally is from oil).
The spotlight is on CO2 because of the sheer quantity released(GTons vs. MTons--for ch4) but Most is readily absorbed by plants and the oceans. Apparently only 2% of CO2 in the atmosphere, after absorption, comes from people. For methane--guess where it all goes? UP (its very light).
