Police fired 10 rounds into a car driven by Devin Brown after he led them on a 3 1/2-mile chase and then backed into their cruiser just before 4 a.m. Sunday.

Brown, an eighth-grader at a local magnet school for gifted youth, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 14-year-old passenger was arrested and booked on charges of grand auto theft.

Police initially called Brown, who was unarmed, a suspected gang member, but a spokeswoman said Monday that investigators couldn't immediately confirm a gang affiliation...

this boy did not run the cops down... quit refferring to it as running them down... that implies the officer was out of the vehicle during the collision... I wish he had run the fu*ks down..... he merely backed up into their car... with a toyota (plastic piece of shit car)...
physics tells us that in reverse with between 9 and 19 feet the toyota posed no threat to the officers life... the officers are trained to use thier car as a blockade when suspects flee... they smash shit up all the fu*king time during chases...
GRAND THEFT AUTO IS NOT PUNISHABLE BY FIRING SQUAD... it only takes one bullet to stop someone... especially when you're a cop who trains with your weapon and your car on a daily/weekly basis...

Hey, it was 4 am, dark, the cops can't see who was driving, how were they supposed to know that 1. there were no weapons in the car, 2. what the kid intended to do when it slammed the cruiser, to do that much wth that car he hit pretty hard, 3. that in fact it was a kid. On top of that, at least one officer was out of the vehicle, they made a number of calls on p.a. for the driver to stop. Yeah, sounds like he got what was coming. I'd have feared for my life as well.
