Right Wingers feel to the need to rub the Bush victory in the face of Hollywood liberals. Wonder how long they last before they get vandalized.
A conservative group will pay for several Billboards near the Oscar event thank liberals for the reelection of Bush that say either "4 more years" or "W. Still President." The billboards will include a gloating image of Bush with the faces of several Hollywood liberals that opposed him. You can see more information and an image of the billboards on a right winger site here: http://www.humaneventsonline.com/article.php?id=6451 Anybody want a bet on how long these billboards last before the Bush images get a Hitler mustache? LOL, ya gonna stand guard on the Billboards to keep the image of your uber-fundie safe? I like to see a billboard where Bush really thanks the people who got him elected, i.e., borg-again fundies, Faux News, and corporate stooges like yourself. Git back in your closet of fear, denial and hyper patriotism freeper. D.

The Democraps out-spent the Republicans in this last Presedential election. And Fox News is the most watched news channel for a reason: People are tired of lying leftist liberal-controlled media. Corporations are autonomous collectives, much like Indymedia collectives. They produce a product and market it to the people, a lot like Indymedia, too. Indymedia's product just happens to be one no one of any consequence is buying: socialism ...

Get rid of the electoral college, and the cities will have an edge, until the conservatives adapt.
Rural areas have disproportionate power, especially considering that, economically, the "blue" states generate more economic activity, and taxes, than the "red" states. Those needy red-staters need all the help they can get to keep the old farm, lest yet another family member end up on welfare, again.
People in the blues work hard and produce profits, so that the people in the reds can avoid starvation or freezing to death in some tin trailer.
Do we really want America to be more like Arkansas, Oklahoma, or Alabama? All the talent leaves these places to go to the "blue" states. The "red" states are left with farm closures and open spaces.
Yes, people in the rural areas are friendlier, and things are slower paced... but the governments are often corrupt too, and there's some homophobia and racism going on some places.
Kind of like Jamaica or Mexico.

I said they'd adapt *after* the college is eliminated.
Until then, the cities would have an advantage.
The conservatives would adapt by abandoning some of the red-state social conservative issues, like abortion.

I grew up in LA (Lower Alabama) and the southereastern USA. That includes Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. I've travelled extensively throughout the USA *and* the world. And the south is, without a doubt, the place to be. The people work hard, are more neighborly, are more moral, and basically encompass all the traits that made America great.
People that bad-mouth the south can come down here and get a good old fashioned southern ass-whooping, too.
So, yes, I do want this country to be more like the southern USA. It would most certainly be a more pleasant place. The big cities are some of the smelliest, nastiest, unfriendly, crappiest, corrupt, wrothless places America has to offer.
Speaking of crap-holes, I get to visit D.C. on Wednesday. Oh joy. Guess I'd better bone up on my broken english so I can communicate with the taxi drivers...

You're from the South? Why are you posting here on the LA board? Did you and your sock puppets here follow a link from DU that you were trolling? Your rascism is showing in the following statement.
"Speaking of crap-holes, I get to visit D.C. on Wednesday. Oh joy. Guess I'd better bone up on my broken english so I can communicate with the taxi drivers..."
I work and travel in the South all the time. The old South is slowing being bull dozed under by fast food chains, Wall Marts, cookie cutter Malls, Mega Markets, and McMansions. One small town looks like any other town with the same corporate stores. Even your precious plantations have been bought up by huge coporate farms.
I've also seen the few American workers in the South left are being replaced by the "Guess Workers" from Jamaica and elsewhere. You can have it. Clutch your flag tightly while your corporate master trade everything you hold dear with a plastic facsimile "Made in China." Enjoy.

The South is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.
1. The racism. Not to say it's not racist in Los Angeles too, but, it's really annoying getting stares, and also just hearing whites talk about blacks, about atlanta, about any city there. It gets old real fast.
2. No future. If you aren't already well off, or somehow hooked into the wealth, you can forget about making it into any kind of middle class. In fact, I can't even tell if there *is* a middle class.
2.5. Combine 1 and 2, and it just isn't a good place to be a non-white, un-networked person in the South.
3. "The South Will Rise Again." David Duke supporters. It's almost as funny as the Larouchies and their theories.
This isn't to say there aren't a lot of cool people there. There sure as hell are. It's just not the land of opportunity. The easiest way to "make it" in the South is to get the hell out, make money in the cities, and then buy up land down there.
Kinda like the way Mexicans work in America, then retire in Mexico.

Racism? Hell, we hardly have it anymore. Blacks and whites have equal access to everything. And it’s not racist to talk about the differences between the races. Blacks (mostly) cling to a different and less desirable culture than do whites in America. Gangsta rap… love mah bitches but where mah hoes? Gang bangin’ and essentially mutilating the English language beyond all recognition, peddling drugs and engaging in larceny … I don’t see how white people could be expected NOT to talk about those differences.
And your analysis about how people have no future in the south is absurd. There’s no differences between success rates of southerners and those of people from other parts of the country. I wasn’t born into wealth, but I’ve managed to do quite nicely in life. Sort of like that old Eagles song “Life’s been good to me so far”. And I have seen many people in the south rise from poverty and succeed in the face of every adversity.
And, I believe the south has the highest concentration of black folks of any place in the country. I could be wrong about that, but I’m pretty sure its true. So why do all the black people stay in the south if it’s such a terrible place for them? I’ll tell you why: because your misperceptions about the south are just that. Wrong.
And contrary to popular belief, we’re not all down here sitting around waiting for the south to rise ageen! Yeeeeeha, just can’t wait fer that next civil war, boy gone whoop me some yankee ass, yeeeeeha.
Get a grip. Yeah, we’ve got our fair share of whackos down here too. But you want to see whackos, you California folks are the laughing stock of the country. Just the other day the LA city counsel was on the news getting ripped by a local Judge ordering them to pay attention during their own meetings! Saw a video of them, dude was talking on a cellphone and the rest were having a shoot the shit session while some lawyers was desperately trying to get his points across. And look at those nuts out in San Francisco! Those freaks are in the news just about every other day with some whacky hijinxs. The Ninth Circuit Court is the most useless judiciary in the nation, gays getting married, liberals and Gray Davis bankrupting the state and Arnold the Governator has to step in to save your gurly asses… Not to mention your high taxes, ridiculous real estate prices, all the mentally deranged and psychotic homeless people … what the hell are YOU people doing out there? Then you get on the internet and preach your socialism to the rest of us like it’s some sort of church……….GEEEEEEEEZZZZZZ!

Racism - There's more there, and people seem to be more eager to share it. I'm not super-well-traveled in the South, but I've been outside of New Orleans, Tallahasee, Baton Rouge, a few places in Virginia, Miami, and St. Louis, and there seems to be more racism. Strangers will be talking to me, and just say something negative about Blacks. What's up with that? Also, the warm hospitality a lot "colder" when I was with my girlfriend, and we were interracial. Success - prove it. This link goes to a page that correlates "red" and "blue" states to taxes paid or tax money received. The South is overrepresented as a net recipeint of federal tax money, indicating that they qualify for more money than they pay in. http://taxprof.typepad.com/taxprof_blog/2004/09/red_states_feed.html Also, I noticed that people just get paid less in the South. Things cost less, but, overall, the net pay seems lower, and with smaller raises. A lot of people were talking about moving to Chicago. I figured that's what people do to "make it". Nobody in California talks about moving to the South, except in the context of selling their house, buying land, and taking it easy. Blacks -- there was a huge migration of African Americans in the 1920s northward and westward. In many respects, they were the "Mexicans" of their era: economic migratins working on farms and in factories. They continue to leave for decades afterward. http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/african/afam008.html In LA and the Bay Area, the African American community is still very "Southern" and somewhat rural too. FYI - I am not impressed by the LA City Council either. They're even worse in the munis. SF politicians are even worse than in LA. The Governor is going to hurt the state, and isn't repairing the budget. He sold bonds to cover the shortfalls, basically delaying (and increasing) taxes to pay for today. That's like paying your Visa card with your MasterCard. (I think the real problem is that much of the budget comes from sales taxes, which fluctuate with the economy. This is due to a cap on property taxes which prevents re-assessments of property values on older homes and businesses. The fraction of the budget from property taxes needs to rise, relative to sales taxes, which should be cut.)

Smart people move to the cities to "make it." Everyone knows this. It doesn't pay to have a mind in a small town, because there aren't many intellectual jobs. You obviously don't "get it." "Newt Gingrich has a much better chance of being elected President than does Dennis Kucinich, John Dean, Al Gore, or John Kerry." That's Howard Dean, not John Dean. John Dean was Nixon's legal counsel. Whoop de doo. A web search turned up this interesting page, where Dean keeps slamming Bush: http://writ.news.findlaw.com/dean/ Howie Dean might have a shot, but the DLC keeps a tight rein on the party, and he's not an insider. "Ann Coulter, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Rush Limbaugh are much more widely admired"... Yes, by mouth-breathers. These "pundits" are nothing more than entertainment for the lowest common denominator. Of the four you listed, one is a vibrator addict, and the other an opiate addict.

How exciting! To see someone bash liberals on their own show! Yeah, that's tough!
I guess that's the difference between you and me, Dittobrain. I don't really delight in hearing liberals or even arch-leftists bash conservatives.
I like doing it: it's more of a participatory thing for me.
My entertainment comes from reading Wikipedia, the occasional magazine, a few news sites, politics, and being a snotty nerd.

There was a great clip on Michael Moore's website of Ann Coulter arguing with a Canadian journalist over Canada's role in the Vietnam War. Ol' dingbat Ann believes Canada participated in that war. When the journalist tries to correct her, she stands her ground and insists Canada was in the war. She must think that because she says it, it's true. It's a laugh riot. What an idiot!

It's not fair to respond to the attacks of an idiot. This behavior should be left to entertain the Other village idiots. Like our little gathering of script readers, Bush Admirer, fresca, Jack and or many one of their retarded followers or alter egos. I'm sorry, It's distasteful to see special Olympic type behavior from these spinmiesters, hate freaks and apologists for the gangsters in control of our nation and what they pass as dialogue in an adult forum. I tend to burst out laughing when they attempt to convince anyone that the script from the Ministry of Truth doesn't cut here.

It's just a "white male rights" group. It's an anti-affirmative-action group, and a front for right wing millionaire lawyers. basically, it's a conservative group with a liberal-sounding name.
This web page says it has a 1.9 million dollar budget.
