Vigils' Counter-Inaugural Caravan Thursday, J20

by Glendale Peace Vigil and SGV Neighbors Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005 at 3:14 AM

Members of the Glendale Peace Vigil, San Gabriel Valley (Alhambra) Neighbors for Peace & Justice, West Covina Neighbors for Peace & Justice, and South Pasadena Neighbors for Peace & Justice invite you to GET ON BOARD the COUNTER-INAUGURAL CARAVAN! THURSDAY, JANUARY 20, 2005

From Alhambra to Westwood, help spread the word:

Stop the War in Iraq now!

Oppose the policies of the Bush administration!

Work together for peace and justice!

OPTION 1 - JOIN US AT OUR START-POINT IN ALHAMBRA: You are welcome to join us as we decorate our cars with signs at 3pm in Alhambra, leave at 4 pm, and cross the city together to arrive at the Inauguration Day Protest in Westwood by 6pm (more specifics below).

OPTION 2 - JOIN US EN ROUTE: As an alternative, you also may join our caravan at any convenient spot along our route (eg. Sunset & Alvarado in Silverlake, La Brea & Wilshire in the Fairfax district). Check out our route (below) and, on the day of the event, call Linda's cell phone (323/336-3351) to learn where we are in our cross-town travels.

OPTION 3 - ORGANIZE A FEEDER CARAVAN: You also are encouraged to create your own "feeder caravan," starting elsewhere as a group and joining us anywhere along the way. For example, the South Pasadena vigil has already arranged to meet in South Pasadena at 1pm to decorate their cars, and then caravan to Alhambra to join the others by 3pm as we prepare to depart for Westwood.

You will find, below, important logistical information and our Caravan route. Whether we are 10 cars or 100 cars, we believe an action of this kind (so appropriate to LA!) is a creative, fun, and effective way to draw positive attention to our anti-war, anti-Bush-administration message. As long as you will be stuck in traffic on your way to Westwood, why not share this message as you go?! We really hope you can join us, as well as pass this email onto others. Thanks for all your support!

Lisa Lubow
