Petrol consumption rate y dams deplete future

by mariposa nocturna Friday, Aug. 27, 2004 at 3:03 PM

Fast rate of petroleum consumption leads to peak oil, dams on Rio colorado prevent formation of crude oil in the future..

Peak oil is the result of the increased rate of petroleum consumption post WW2. Since Ford, Rockefeller, Bush and the other oil barons had access to Saudi Arabian crude oil deposits (American oil corporations started drilling 1933, same year Hitler burned Reichstag, blamed and outlawed the Kommunist Partei Deutschland), the increase in crude oil residue asphalt paving led to suburban sprawl and photochemical smog, asthma and lung cancer that plagues sub//urban regions..

Crude oil forms under pressure of sediment deposition at places like river deltas. Plankton is buried and compressed into hydrocarbons over long periods of time. Burning these hydrocarbon reserves at the current rate in America and worldwide is like burning one thousand years in a minute..

The dams on Rio Colorado are preventing the formation of new petroleum deposits in del mar de cortez. Lack of sediment entering the Colorado delta prevents plankton from having new mineral nutrients and also doesn't provide the pressure blanket to compress the plankton into crude oil deposits. Pemex isn't really too happy about the dams either, though they would only be effected a few hundred years in the future..

Live plankton also feed the almejas (clams), cammarones (shrimps) y pesca (fish) en del mar de cortez. Rio Colorado sediments contain needed elements like iron and magnesium, dissolved for plankton uptake. Elders who have lived in delta towns like El Golfo de Santa Clara y San Luis for years remember the decline in sea life after the dams trapped water and sediment on Rio Colorado decades ago..

There are also effects underground when removing large quantities of the crude oil reservoir. The cavern effect of empty space causes shifting of underground gas (like hydrogen sulfide), fluids and structure. The effects are not always noticeable immediately but over time they progressivley become worse. Loss of aquifer water could be related to loss through seepage into empty oil reservoirs. Overconsumption of agua by agribusiness, golf courses, suburban lawns, etc. is also a major factor of aquifer loss..

The people of Venezuala y Chavez have a chance to see if humanity can live responsibly with the remaining crude oil. Personally i would prefer Venezualan yucca (cassava) to petroleum, but i understand society is still very dependent on oil..

The peak oil time is here, and we need to be careful with what remains, it would be advised to use it for hybrids, public transit and also machinery making sustainable energy devices like solar cells, bicycles and windmills..

Wasting oil in SUVs pollutes the air and also deprives others of a needed resource. Please consider others and do not drive SUVs. If we pressure the auto industry to offer money for recycled SUVs then we could recycle the metal compounds into much needed bicycles. The American consumer was duped into purchasing innefficient SUVs by the petroleum/auto industry anticipating a short term profit pre peak oil collapse..

We dont want to let the oil barons rob us anymore, let's sieze the means of production..

Ya basta!
