Southern California Earth First! Call to Direct Action to Save North County Coyotes!
Home to invaders and tourists, San Diego county has been home to relentless assaults on nature. Last week the public became aware of plans by an exclusive upscale retirement community to slaughter the coyotes who live in the wildlife preserve directly beside their golf course and homes. The Ocean Hills Community board of directors has not even considered non-lethal alternatives and seems eager to kill the coyotes.
While animal rights groups like San Diego Animal Advocates are working desperately to try and stop this hunt legally, Earth First ! quickly organized to respond to this threat. We are simply unwilling to write letters and hold signs and consider this enough.
In this tiny desert canyon refuge for the wild creatures who have survived the assault of urban sprawl, the coyotes are howling for our help. This trapping is planned to go on for 10 days starting on Monday. If we can hold off the killers long enough we can give the community the time and inspiration to end the killing. There is a lot of work to do and we need help. There are jobs to do on-site which involve direct action and there is important support work needed too.

First event: Protest Friday at 6 pm at the site. It is located at the corner of Melrose Ave. and Cannon in Vista (east of Oceanside) Directions: take I-5 north to the 78 east, exit onto Melrose. It’s about 2-3 blocks down. Bring noise makers, signs, do street theater, be serious about stopping this hunt. The coyotes are depending on us !!!!
If the folks of the Ocean Hills Community are wondering what they are going to do with the tens of thousands of squirrels that will thrive after they have destroyed the coyotes - I have some great recipes to share with them.
Coyotes are thriving where other large mammals aren't, and they been known to attack small kids..to eat. maybe if they stuck to leftleaning meals, it wouldn't be so bad.
With all of this development, be very prepared for the backwash of recipocal crime, disease, corruption...lovely.
As for wild E ? Why doesn't all of these so called animal rights organizations use their own $$ to relocate them ? Oh that's right, they would rather sucker the taxpayer through their foundations to pay themselves more. Interesting way to get a raise.
That would be interesting, wouldn't it? Wild dogs and cats can live in the areas between parcels, and near the edges of large yards and parks.
Racoons and possum are also good survivers.
