Support the Hunger Strike Against Taco Bell

by IMC Repost Wednesday, Jun. 16, 2004 at 2:33 PM

Students at UCLA are on a hunger strike to support tomato pickers who are demanding a living wage. They are on day 7 and need you support.

Things are heating up at UCLA where 47 students have been or are hunger

striking. Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 15 is a National Day of Action to support

the striking UCLA students and pressure ASUCLA to kick Taco Bell off

UCLA's campus! UCLA is at an absolutely crucial point right now - as their

Hunger Strike enters Day 7, students are asking everyone to both call and e-

mail ASUCLA to let them know that until Taco Bell can guarantee that there is

no exploitation in its supply chain, Taco Bell does not deserve to do business

on UCLA's campus!

Please call Bob Williams, Interim Executive Director of ASUCLA, at (310)-825-

8011 and tell him that you support the hunger strikers and the students' efforts

to hold Taco Bell to UCLA's strict code of conduct.

Click below to send an e-mail to Bob Williams and Charles Harless, chair of

the ASUCLA Board of Directors!

http://www.unionvoice.org/campaign/UCLATacoBell/

To let the students know you called, you can e-mail them at theec@ucla.edu.

Thank you!
