This 5-18-2004 demostration at the Federal Building in L.A. was held to:

Commemorate and celebrate May 18 as Haitian Flag Day. On May 18,2003 the National Flag of Haiti was created and in 1804 the Haitians became the first and only enslaved people to free themselves and form a republic. To participate in the national day of action. TransAfrica Forum called for a May 18,2004 to be a national day of action for Haiti and asked other organization to sponsor events around the nation. The Coalition in Solidarity with Haiti endorsed this project and we sponsored the event in the L.A. area.
