Two of the arrests shown above were staged by the police to provoke the black block into violence. They failed....

the police were exciting and following the black bloc all the way from hollywood highschool to the end of the march. first with the arrest in front of the high school, where they divided the march. i saw the policewoman in the group baton and hit black bloc members with her bike numerous times. she also gave me a jab with her tire while pushing past me (thanks lady! you are an awesome civil servant!). later, they attempted to encircle them at the end of the march, but the protesters had enough voice to force the cops off the street and back them up onto their own baricade.

Hey Guys. Im the guy with the braids and beard banging away on the drum. It was an excellant protest and good drum cirlce. I felt a lot of positive energy from everyone. It was too bad the cops had to be assholes at some points, but the sergeant kept them under pretty good control whenever they started messing up. I got hit by the motorcycle crew and the one pig swinging his bike around, but eventually they backed off, so its all good. I hope you made it out spray paint guys and gals, because we had your backs.

I accompanied the detained male and female throughout most of the march but we split up shortly before this happened. Apparently after the arrest the two were shipped to a jail in Van Nuys, where they may remain until monday morning (the norm for most weekend bookings). The pigs are throwing the book at them, too, claiming that this petty "crime" was felony vandalism.
One of our circle who was about 3 ft. away from the incident as it developed claims that an undercover cop sporting a green National Lawyers' Guild "observer" baseball cap was behind the bust.
Anyone who attended this demo can attest to the fact that the LAPD was heavy-handed as usual, crushing any potential breakaway march in its' egg (i.e. targetting "anarchist"-looking types for harrassment). Plainclothes photographers, K9 units, a team of Commando-looking cops, provocateurs, and pro-war demonstrators ringed by pigs were out in droves.

I have an idea, for all the people whom despise this country and all it stands for, how about you give up your citizenship and emigrate from this country like lets say North Korea or how about Southern Sudan, in return for your giving up of your citizenship, a native of said country will immigrate to America in your place. That would be a win win, someone whom is living in the worst conditions under brutal native occupation and famine, disease, slavery etc. will get to live in one of the greatest and most prosperous countries in the world,. Someone whom will not take living in the USA for granted, like most of the children of hippies and yuppies and so called anarchist whom frequent this site. I would like to see an anarchist or a anti war person survive one day in southern Sudan or Congo. Or better yet how about surviving one day in East Los Angeles with no police and the realization of your true dreams of "Anarchy” Wake up you selfish people whom have no respect for the freedoms and opportunities you have in this world, to have the money to beable to afford a computer and internet connection and a house to live in and food to eat. While providing emotional aid and comfort to the worlds leading terrorists the "anti-War" movement has shown its true colors, that they have been hijacked by corrupt regimes of this world to be used as propagandists against the USA. To be used as dividers of a nation by regimes hoping to incite civil unrest in this great nation. Wake up you people, it is not too late to stop supporting these twisted regimes whom finance most of these "Anti-War" protests, groups like ANSWER coalition whom claim to be against Racism yet call for the destruction of the state of Israel, Support leading terrorist groups emotionally and sometimes even financially, groups which are used to train the children of tomorrow to wish to kill in the name of Allah. Children whom are stripped of there childhoods to be human bombs in the names of some twisted fanatics given aid and comfort by so called "Human Rights" groups. Do you not see how morally bankrupt we have come? To not really care about the "Palestinians" rights, to not care that there leaders have lead them down the road to death and destruction by refusing to accept the rights of Jews to live in the state of Israel, to instead of teaching there children about coexistence they are taught hatred and love of death (aka: Shahadah) wake up people, do the real research, watch about 30 minutes of Palestinian or Hizbullah television which is translated by an Arab speaker and you will see the indoctoration of hate pushed on the youth whom only know death and mayhem because there leaders AKA Arafat takes all the money and runs while the poor Palestinians are still in refugee camps 50 years later while the Shieks are in the mansions. Wake up people, learn the real truth, stop calling for anti racism while you yourselves are racists against White people, Jewish People, Israeli people, you are hate filled against George Bush or anyone related to him, we are morally bankrupt that we have come this far and steeped so low.

John, Very good points you bring up. Most of the "liberals" I have met are hate filled racists, who spew about as much hate as a typical neo-nazi or other facist. If they only took a good look in the mirror and realised they are truly pro war, (pro-war against America and White Males) they are mostly twisted and confused, if there are ever any more threats of terror against Americans I hope these people are the ones on the bus and not innocent civilians. They should be tried for treason. heck if they had it there way this country would be truly a dictatatorship and they would be tried and hung for treason, just like they do it in China and Iran. I wish they would follow your advice and leave if they hate it so much. Too many people have sacraficed too much so these vile hate filled people can sit around complain and collect unenmployment and welfare. Enough is enough.

Bush Jr. is a clumsy president, a person who has developed what psychologists call a "superiority complex" - maybe because he was a short boy with a president father- and lets it interfere with his job. Delusions after delusions, dangerous ones. He's arrogant and aggressive and has a great difficulty to distinguish reality and know what to do with it. Because of this the world is in danger, mainly the US. It's useless to try to stop an aggression with another aggression. September 11th exposed the US' weaknesses to the world and no yelling or outbursts will be able to hide them. The next attack the US suffers will evidence this reality and it will strike Americans like not even the most powerful bomb could do. Depressive they will realize that they were misled to believe people could be tamed when they can't. Those who suffer will always react. And think of life in the US: how could people endure where any carton box left on a sidewalk perpetually means a potential disaster to be avoided; or where nobody can transport anything, communicate or even use a simple locker without being investigated.
The only solution is an equal world without exploitation where no reasons for revolts existed and where the US could benefit of a better image among all the peoples in the world.

Last night the thought hit me, and perhaps not for the first time, that
here we are as a country squirming and apologizing to the world for the
actions of a few overzealous military interrogators who happened to
embarrass a few Iraqis who may or may not have done far worse things to
possibly earn such embarrassment. And at the same time the Islamic Arabs
are behaving according to barbaric ancient customs as they publicly behead
one individual who simply wanted to work to better the lives of Iraqis.

Perhaps we might get a bit more Mideast mileage if we were to act less
PC/SC and stop worrying about hurting the feelings of, and offending the
"cultural sensitivities" of those who attack us in Iraq. A few public US
military executions of Iraqi terrorists might go a long way to cause the
radical clerics and other rabblerousers to calm down and learn to say
"Yes, sir" and "No, sir".

Of course we failed to learn the same lesson with other vermin, so what else
can we expect. In another 30 years we will be funding another Head Start program among numerous other entitlements for Iraqis who will still hate
us for it as they hold out their hands to be paid by the US Government.

I am proud of the people who are demonstrating. I recently attended an Anti Illegal Immigration protest today.

The power of the people is truly amazing. The peaceful march was great and the police was respectful to our cause.

A truly democratic society threatens a Hierchal society like the money hungry politicians in Washington.

I have been truly let down by CNN, FOX news, NBC, CBS, ABC and other news organizations, PBS Jim Lehrer still holds some truth in his news.

Before the war on Iraq I was fooled, lied too and I believed every ounce of the lie.

I truly hope that the Labor movement along with the Anti-Imperialist/Capitalist Movement will gain a strong grass roots response.
