Time Magazine - The Person of the Year

by backdraft Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003 at 10:25 PM

The fatal policy of appeasement was and is the wrong answer

Time Magazine - The ...

THE AMERICAN MYRMIDON awarded for pillage & killing, a vicarious agent for a criminal regime

unvarnished, honest, in truth, murderous psychopaths in pure culture

Wehret den Anfängen!

Look everybody!

That guy is so clever. See what he did? He put a swastika armband on the arm of a US soldier. He's implying that US soldiers are like Nazis. Such a smart guy. I bet he's read a lot of history books.

Very Clever Indeed!

by mediawatcher Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003 at 11:20 PM

A very clever image indeed that focuses on the absurdity of TIME's

selection of "man of the year," which is often a joke (like when they

gave it to bu(ll)sh(it), but with the exception of the year they gave it to the

women whistleblowers of the FBI and 9/11, and yet we've seen how that

concession to the liberal side was virtually ignored by the rest of the

conglomerate media in the months following. I think this year's bogus

awarding to our sorry-ass soldiers sent into the meat grinder will also

be eventually ignored, for the good, especially for those families who

have kids over there and know the whole operation is a joke. Shit, they

didn't even find Saddam, the Kurds did. May god bless or at least provide

psychotherapy (doubt it, given how the US military treats its veterans) for

our troops who have been suckered into being compliant pawns for

the fouth reich of the bu(ll)sh(it) cabal.

Backdraft you idiot

by Adult Supervisor Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003 at 11:23 PM

Main Entry: myr·mi·don

Function: noun

a loyal follower; especially : a subordinate who executes orders unquestioningly or unscrupulously

You idiot. US Soldiers are not Myrmidon's.

If there is a Myrmidon in this audience, it would be you Backdraft.

Someone who buys into this leftist bullshit with zero objectivity - a robotic moron with no mind of his own. Someone who attends anti-war marches would qualify as Myrmidon for sure.

US Soldiers are on the right side of history. They're to be admired.

You, on the other hand, are to be despised, like lice or the rat that you are. You're no better than Latuff.

If anything absolutely proves that our soldiers are not only on the right side of history but that they defenitely deserve to be Men of the Year is the fact that the very idea of this sends the deluded traitors around here into seizures of panic and crazy talk.

When the day comes that they are NOT paitning swastikas on our guys is the day I'll question the armed forces.

By the way, in the time it took me to type this our guys lit up another dozen or so koranimals.

Hats off to you.

I think that makes you irrelevant.

in other words, he's a flyweight with zero credibility.

soldiers next year

by Meyer London Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003 at 12:41 AM

There were already homeless veterans of the first Gulf War a few months after the conflict ended. If these people of the year are homeless in December of 2004 it is a pretty good bet that they won't be gracing the cover of Time then. They won't be there if they've had both arms and both legs amputated and are spending the rest of their lives in a Veterans Hospital as basket cases, either. They will be replaced by Brittney Spears or Rush Limbaugh.

What the fuck do you care.

You have on SEVERAL OCCASIONS flatly championed the cause of the Iraqi terrorists and have openly wished for the death and injuries of American troops.

You're a cowardly scumbag. Too much of a loser to even fight for the bad guys.

bringing the troops home

by Meyer London (the real one) Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003 at 5:01 PM

There is no contradiction between wishing success to the Iraqi resistance to imperialism and wanting to save US troops' lives by bringing them home. Edmund Burke, the famous British conservative (often cited as a hero by right-wingers today) sympathized with the colonial rebels during the Revolutionary War and also wanted British and Hessian troops brought home instead of being killed in a needless war. Anti-Nazi Germans during World War ll wanted to see the defeat of Hitler but also were aghast at the loss of young German men's lives at Stalingrad and other places of horror. There is no contradiction. The real contradiction is your own; you claim to be a friend of the troops but you want to keep them where they are being killed, blinded or having their limbs shot off. You are a fraud.

The Troops

by Adult Supervisor Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003 at 5:19 PM

Meyer - Our troops have nothing but contempt for you anti-war protestors. They don't want to put their tails between their legs and retreat before the job is completed.

By the way, they also have a good deal of respect and admiration for their commander in chief. What a healthy change that is from the Bill Clinton days when he fled Mogadushu at the first sign of blood.

Not only are you a traitorous coward, but you're also a fucking imbecile.

Let me hip you to something. The "resistance" measures success by how many AMericans it can kill. Not by whether we leave or not. They want to kill us.

You are a lowlife.

You simply want our guys to die.

I have NO DOUBT that you cheered the koranimals on 9-11. No doubt at all.

Bush is the myrmidon

by more rational Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003 at 9:00 PM

And Paul Wolfowitz is the puppetmaster.

Bush is a man without character. He compensates with violence. Because he feels intellectually inferior, he bonds with Paul, who is smart and offers violence and domination as solutions to W's feelings of inadequacy.

Paul, I suspect, is a bit of an abuser. He was a defender of Stalin in his youth, and at his advanced age, still hasn't overcome his need for global violence.

Is there any doubt

by Meyer London Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003 at 9:28 PM

that if Iran had won a clear-cut victory over Iraq in the 1980's war, and was now in even a hypothetical position to threaten the Saudi Arabian oil fields or Israel, Wolkowitz and Bush would both be touting Saddam Hussein as a modernizing, secular reformer who deserved to be re-armed and given generous financial aid so that he could fight round two against the fanatical hordes of Islamic Iranian estremists who were threatening everyone in the US? Does anyone who is not a fool think that there would be even the remotist possiblity that the US media would be carrying headlines about Hussein's brutality, the alleged rape rooms, the antics of his sons, or his use of poison gas? Does any sane person doubt that he would be allowed to annex Kuwait if this was his price for attacking Iran again?
