2/3 at home won by the speedy, determined, young Marlins and needing only 1win in 2 in the Bronx using Pavano&Beckett vs. "loosy"MooseMussina&Petite/Boomer?
GoMarlinsGO!!!
Amazing series.
But , jesus, those 8th and 9th innings are killing me. As soon as I see Urbina starting to warm up i get an ulcer.
Penny punching out Sierra tonight with a 99 mph fastball in the 6th was fucking great.
The Kids Are Alright.
no doubt the 7th-9inning are heart-wrenchers, but i like it that way, and better if my team wins, but i wouldn't have it any other way to finish the series. The established, proven, dynastic(they are), $$$$, VS. the YOUNg guns!!----what a classic series---and so many don't realize it!
IN NewYork to finish it off with the Yankees Needin' to win, Yahoooo!...
As the saying goes "where do we go from here?" --my guess is the newly formed CBL(Can) will MAYBE inject another division into pro-ball(never know) and Mexico, central America and of course S.America could impact in the near future.
---see ya on the wire, fresca
I almost (but ONLY almost) hope the Yankees win so we can have a game seven.
I agreethat the nerve-wracking 8th and 9th's are what it's all about.
Someone said once that "baseball was a game designed to break your heart". Well put I think.
Anyway, I'll be playing ball both Saturday and Sunday in the mornings and hanging out watching the Series at night. Perfect weekend.
As far as expanding outside the states, I don't know about that. We'll see how a half season in PR goes. I suspect that both the owners and the players union will balk at a major increase in travel time. It is way cool to see more and more international players in MLB though. (as long as Matsui doesn't become a World Series Hero this weekend)
