Israel carrying out policy of ethnic cleansing by inducing poverty, starvation, expulsion

by Outraged Anew Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003 at 2:37 PM

On October 2, the Israeli military released an order declaring all occupied West Bank land between the “security” wall and Israel’s pre-occupation 1967 border a “Closed Zone”. The order states that “no person will enter the (Closed Zone) and no one will remain there.” Free access to the Closed Zone will only be granted to “Israelis”. In this October 2nd order, General Moshe Kaplinski defines “Israelis” as any citizen of the state of Israel, resident of the state of Israel, and any one eligible to emigrate to Israel in accordance with the Law of Return, 1950.

Israel carrying out policy of ethnic cleansing by inducing poverty, starvation, and cases of forceful expulsion

October 20, 2003

The Israeli construction of the West Bank apartheid wall is clearly a politically motivated maneuver intent on reshaping the West Bank, rendering a viable Palestinian state, and with it any lasting peace through a two state solution, impossible.

In reshaping the West Bank and slicing off huge portions of Palestinian land east of the 1967 border, Israel has also annexed thousands of Palestinians – Palestinians it is now trying to expel through forceful expulsion but also through destroying any remaining quality of life within this isolated area of land.

This means therefore, that while the 15,300 Palestinian residents in this 115 square km area, or those in adjoining communities who own agricultural land here (180,000 people) must now obtain highly unreliable permits to validate their existence, any Jewish person from anywhere in the world is quite free to come and settle on this land.

The order stipulates that all crossing into the isolated areas is prohibited unless a “permit” from the Occupation “Civil Administration” is obtained, which can only be done by land owners who “prove” that they have land residing behind the Wall or are “officially registered” workers. Farmers and residents are fearful however that were they to apply for “permits” the well-grounded reality is that they would be denied on the basis that their Jordanian land certificates will not be recognized – Israeli authorities are all too aware that the majority of Palestinian certificates are Jordanian since land registration in the West Bank took place under Jordanian rule prior to the 1967 Occupation.

On the ground this policy is already causing extensive suffering. The prevention of access to land has meant that many families are losing their livelihoods – farmers prevented access to their crops are forced to watch their untended crops rot – either that or see their produce stolen by settlers free to wonder through Palestinian lands.

The idea of applying for a permit to be on one's own land is rejected by Palestinians who have been on these lands for generations. Those few who have sought permits have been confronted with a haphazard policy of discrimination which randomly rejects applications for permits citing various criteria yet at the same time failing to establish any formal set of guidelines. Many heads of households for instance have already been denied permits to reside in their villages on the grounds that they were not born there. Furthermore those who are granted permits are not assured permanent residency rights – the permits are to be renewed from “time to time” as demanded by the Occupation Civil Administration.

Palestinan efforts to protest this latest stunt in Israel’s ongoing colonization process have been met with severe punishment. The community of Jubara for instance lies west of the apartheid wall and is completely isolated within the de facto annexed area. Jubara has no schools or health facilities of its own, residents have always depended on reaching nearby Kafryat for such services yet residents are doing their utmost to defy the Occupation’s system of expulsion and permits. As a result the village has remained under closure for more than sixteen days—no one is allowed in or out which, considering that all services are only available outside the village, is having stark consequences for the residents.

The obvious intention of the Israeli government is to see that the reality of forced poverty and starvation, brought on by the imposition of the wall and the new “closed zones” become so unbearable for communities in the northern West Bank that people choose to leave in the hope of finding a better life. The village of Jubara is just one of many cases being fatally affected in this latest attempt by Israel and it’s military to cleanse the recently seized “closed zone” of all its Palestinian inhabitants and thus annex the land, and its existing illegal settlers to Israel proper.

Well, er, you see, the Bible revelations justify all this; we can't interfere with God's plan. Besides, the Israelis were forced to do this by, ah, Arab extremists and, ah, Saddam Hussein and his buried wmds. Also, by Bill Clinton and the Soviets (oops, they'r not around any more) - well, the North Koreans had a big hand in it for sure - I found that out from listening to the Rush Limbaugh show before he left for the clinic.

Real Explanation

by mymicz Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003 at 5:38 PM

Yesterday the Israeli's were accused of killing scores of people, only afterward to produce a videotape that clearly showed none of those people around the target, which was a car with two militants in it. If Palestinians want true sympathy, and I am not without that for people who need a home, they should stop blowing up cafes and innocent people. The intifada didn't start with an Israeli shot. I don't believe a thing some website that is pro-palestinian says, they have the credibility of terrorists.

I have seen with my own eyes babies with bombs wrapped around themselves with "future martyr" written on their heads.

It is interesting, that even with the knowledge that they themselves fired the first shot, Palestinians still take no responsability for breeding killers themselves.

To hell with those who support them in the name of human rights.

If anything they deprive themselves of those rights.

For instance,

hundreds of co-owned businesses used to exist.

Now Israelis fear they will be killed, not by fellow Jews, but by Palestinians, for even being near them.

As a matter of fact, these barbarians you call victims, blew up five such Muslims in Haifa just recently, who co owned the restaurant.

Why would any sane person do business with a murderer or people who not only praise murderers but make them martyrs.

I can assure you, no one in Israel celebrates a bombing by the IDF, but on the other side, they have parades.

You expect a nation of people, for whom no one ever gave a shit and no one ever helped until recently, to bend over and take it in the ass from some poor stupid rebels who can't even read their own Quaran that says they are supposed to love the Jews. Yeah right!

I have all the symapthy for the innocent. But this article downplays and gives misinformation.

For one thing, "Israeli," does not absolutely mean Jewish.

Obviously you have never been there if you assume that.

Yes there is right of return for Jews, if only because after being shit on for millenia Jews just want a fortress to defend themselves from and have made it happen.

But Palestinians, and Arabs, live happily among Jews in Israel as do Christians.

The difference is, they aprreciate the right to work, and live and they don't start "uprisings"' and kill babies in the name of Allah.

Would that you could seperate the good Israeli's and Palestinians from the evil ones, which I concede there are on both sides, there would be some area of peace and another of war.

That is impossible, especially when main stream Palestine is still very supportive of murder as much as the fearful Israeli government.

I am tired of your one sided arguments. There will be no peace until everyone takes blame equally, because frankly, the Palestinians brought this on themselves by instilling enough fear into the Israeli's to elect Sharon.

To prove it, just look at how much Israel has spent helping them build infrastructure when the PA spent nothing while Arafat got rich. Just look at the amount of muslims killed in other countries compared to how many the Israeli's killed, generally in the hundreds of thousands especially in Muslim controlled states.

Just look at all of the businesses that are beginning to thrive again in Egypt from Israeli tourism, because Egypt has normalized relations.

The accusation that Israel is a nation of racists is just patently false. It is proven by the fact that trade did exist in positive form before the damned Intifada and still exists with countries that refuse to sponsor the damned intifada, all to Muslim benefit. I would even venture to say that because of Mubarak's public position, the private attitude of his people doesn't even cause grief. Arafat has no such leanings, for the benefit of trade and jobs. While Mubarak's Muslims have racist reservations about Jews, they appreciate the money and resources peace can provide and in general do not rise up against his semi support of Israel. And the same goes for Jordanians. Why then not for Palestinians? Because they like to blow themselves up in cafes. Simple as that.

The Arab side of Jerusalem is as free as any other part of the country, just like the Christian sectors.

No one should be forced to do business with murderers. No country should be forced to concede it's right to defend itself against attacks towards civilians.

That was the premise of the beginning of Israel.

And it should be the premise of a beginning for Palestine.

Once attacks against Israel are in full stop, Palestine will be free to fuck up their government like they did before their useless bloody uprising.

Until then, Israeli's have a right to their fear and their protection. Especially when they have the right to vote for their iron fists if they choose just like Americans.

Remeber, several Muslim states have sent violent Palestinians packing and killed them in the thousands.

This is not a group to feel sorry for.

We all make our own destiny.

Peace existed in small form before, but the fact that it is dead now lies in the grave of five Muslims who were killed by their own for having a business with a Jewish family.

Who really is the racist?

Israeli's do not kill their own people for negotiating and helping the Palestinians,

But all too often, people thought to be talking to Israeli's are killed by the Hamas and Fatah movements and dragged bloody through the streets in a barbaric manner.

You can not ask for something you would not be willing to give.

You cannot do unto the Israeli's and expect nothing in return.

G-d has nothing to do with man made fear and suicide bombs.

Even from a purely Muslim persepctive, the Palestinian people are paying for the sins of Hamas and Jihad, who relentlessly target innocents.

Remeber, if you're old enough, that this has only been three years out of many, and that progress was made until Palestinians fired the first shot, for what? Because Sharon dared to visit a holy site? Because he is a Jew? That is racism. It is a problem we are encountering with Muslims all over the world.

First they kill anyone who's not in their sect, then they attack other religions, then they want human rights and the right to belive everything they did is forgivable.

That's not o.k. for Christians, it's not O.K. for Jews, and Certainly, it's never going to be O.K. for Muslims. And if they are so righteous, why does Allah leave them paying for their stupidity over and over? Perhaps because like every other religion, they have barely read their own theology.

The people who had their lands and their country stolen are not a group to feel sorry for. Save your sympathy for the land thieves. It is all spelled out in the holy books. Besides, don't forget about those wmds; the Palestinians probably have them buried under a grove of fig trees and can't wait to set them off when the commies from North Korea give them the word.

It's a lot easier to wrap yourself in the shroud of martyrdom and sacrifice your children than it is to build roads and schools and plumbing systems.

If the "palestinians" really wanted to join the civilized world, they would have done so long ago. Can you imagine how utterly fucked the "palestinian" state will ultimately be given the horrors committed to create it?

Yes, I written about that before.

How will the Palestinians deal with day-to-day life when they get their own state?

Refuse removal? Blow it up.

Potholes in the street? Blow up the smooth parts.

Lack of water? Drill wells with explosives.

Date harvest? Blow up the trees, catch dates.

Workers on strike? Blow 'em up.

I don't see tourism being a big part of Palestine's economy.
