We know its ridiculous. We know the recall is unfair. We know you have committed no crime no misdemeanor as should be the standard to recall a Governor. However, in order to save this state and this nation from electing another bad actor as Governor, Gray Davis must step up and take one for the Democratic Party and resign. If Gray Davis resigns this whole circus ends. Lt. Governor Cruz Bustamente becomes Governor and we are saved from Arnold for at least another three years when he can have his shot at first the republican primary and in the unlikelihood he would win that he can have his shot at a real general election. This is crucial for the purposes of the 2004 Presidential election. We cannot have George W. Bush operatives in California manipulating and intimidating lawfull voters at the polls as they did in Florida. Arnold must be stopped. Bush must be stopped. Gray you can stop them. And in return I am sure the next Democratic President can find a nice cushy Ambasador job for you. Consider it.

...but it makes no difference to the recall. The courts have already issued an opinion that the regardless of who is the governor on October 7, there wil be a statewide election to choose a new one. If Davis resigns, the recall is moot, but the election is not and will go forward as planned. Nice try, but it was already anticipated and dealt with. Don't subvert the will of the people, respect it.

Trading Gray-Out Davis for Cruz Bustamente wouldn't help the state. We'd just be trading Tweedle-de-Dumb for Tweedle-de-Idiot.
