Those present will introduce themselves and briefly, but concretely, provide

a review and update as to the work they are doing around the question of

Raza progressive media [*they must present concrete examples of their work,

past and present].

Presenters will go over their proposals.  Those present will critique (add,

delete, corrections, suggestions, etc.) proposals.  After discussion,

proposal will be accepted or rejected.

General Objectives:

The summit will have as its1 objective to develop goals that will address

the following points: (a) bringing more members into the association; (b)

for the RPA to significantly provide more pertinent and progressive

information out in streets/community/barrios; (c) to enhance the political

level and sophistication of the journalism of the RPA; and (d) to

significantly improve our work and organization.

Key participants of the Summit must present concrete, solution oriented

proposals, in writing, directed towards achievement of the general

objectives of the summit. These proposals must a plan which will include

detail description of goal, tactics/methods to be utilized to achieve goal,

who will be responsible for implementing goal, timeline/datelines for

achieving goal, and an evaluation system to be used to measure the success

of the plan.

Brief Description Of Goals:

(a) We must bring at least 20 active (which publishes on a

regular/consistent basis) into the RPA. If 20 publications do not exist,

then plan must include how to create new publications.

(b) Plan should outline how will the RPA, in a systematic fashion, greatly

improve their dissemination of progressive news and information to the

masses.

(c) A plan of action as to how to improve the political knowledge and

writing skills of those working within the RPA must be developed.

(d) We must describe how we will improve our newswire service and network of

progressive Raza press.

Essence Of Summit:

(a) More emphasis will be place on making it working/action oriented summit,

versus a theoretical meeting.

(b) Summit will be limited to those 3actually2 doing work around some type

of media project.

(c) Key participants must make concrete proposals. These proposals must be

in writing. Detailed. And sent to other key participant two weeks before

summit to ensure that everyone has read it and will come to summit prepared

to effectively respond to proposal.

(d) Responsibility and accountability must be stressed. Those present must

commit themselves to making real the proposals.
