************************************ October 7: Stop the Military Recruiters! ************************************ This October 7th, on the second anniversary of the bombing of Afghanistan, the Not In Our Name Youth Network is calling on youth and students to take a stand against the military recruiters. As the US Government’s war and occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan continue, the recruiters have become even more aggressive in targeting us in our schools and communities, as well as on the airwaves. Increased ads on MTV and BET, as well as in magazines and billboards, are meant to complement recruitment efforts on campuses, creating an environment of militarism which cannot be ignored or avoided.
The unjust and immoral wars that the government wages in our name can only continue with a constant supply of fresh recruits. We have a responsibility to stand with the people of the world and refuse to fight in these wars of empire. Every day more and more young people are enticed with empty promises and outright lies about the purposes and benefits of the military. We must counter this by spreading truth and resistance to the war machine.
We won’t be the cops of the world!
We refuse to take part in the killing and torturing of innocent people and the occupying of their lands! Dick Cheney said this “war on terrorism” could last a generation. We say it is going to take a generation to stop these wars.
The Anti-Recruitment campaign is a youth-led initiative aimed at stopping the recruiters. This broad campaign will bring together youth from around the country to speak out against and resist the military’s invasion of our schools, as we say powerfully and with many voices: NOT IN OUR NAMES!
On October 7th do everything possible to speak out and organize against the military recruiters:
• Walk-outs: Either the recruiters leave or we leave! • Speak-outs: On or off campus, unite with other youth! • Teach-ins: Educate and learn from one another! • Concerts: Art as resistance! • Street theatre: Act out against militarism! • Direct Action: Manifest resistance at military recruitment stations or recruitment booths at your school! • Sponsor: Have your organization sign on in support! • Promote: Spread the word far and wide that youth are standing up to military recruiters!
For teachers, parents, and community leaders: While this is a youth led campaign, we need your help and support. Demand that the military recruiters stop targeting your sons, daughters, students and the youth for their endless wars. Support the youth, students, and soldiers who resist! Join in the organizing and resistance on October 7.

Surely you don't expect this "youthful movement" to take part in an anarchist , anti-american setting like this do you? Please, if you must, vent your anger towards other problems like drug dealers, and gun smugglers. Recruiters are doing their job to help fulfill America's requirement to continue to bring in people that WANT to join and help keep this country as beautiful and free as it is! Remember, these recruits are 100% VOLUNTEERS. Nobody is forcing them to do anything! Do us all a favor and please respect those that fight for your freedom and take your protest elsewhere. Think about it: If our military didn't do these duties as they have over the past 100 years, don't you think the posture of this country would be in a very bad stance. (That's if this country would even be here today.)
P.S. I hear Siberia has wonderful winters, go protest there.

"keep this country as beautiful and free as it is! " So we as civilians are free to get together to kick you recruiters off campus where we have our kids. Stay in your recruiting offices. We're paying for those also. These places are not your fishing hole for the naive. And take your glory posters with you.

SGT,
Why would we attack drug dealers? I mean by your logic they are just doing their jobs. In this shit hole country if you are poor, I mean really poor. You have only a few options, sling rock (drugs), sign up for the military and get paid to kill people (mind you for a country that has given you these great options) or FIGHT BACK (sling rocks palestinian style) .
We the youth, a new generation without borders, choose to stop fighting amongst ourselves, and start fighting for a bew tomorrow, a better world is possible, and this generation without border refuses to be more exploiters- we pledge to make that better world real.
What kind of freedom is it where these are you options, either get shot or forced to jump in a shark pit. The bst that can happen in the military is that you learn to be a shark. Hell no. We are stop the fucker with the gun and we are taking the sharcks with us to make them human again.
We pledge resistance, Mr. Steel

You are welcomed by many on our campuses. "Freedom" allows each individual to make the choice they believe is best for them. Some people don't want others to exercise their freedom, they want to control those people and prevent them from making their own choices, as the posters above clearly demonstrate.
Should the world ever become as Wolf and Mr. Steel envision, we will all truly be "free". "Free", that is, to do exactly as they tell us to do without question, or be shot.

Why does the Left insist the government pay for things people should be doing on their own?

In the above remark, it is commonly understood by those who can reason that the writer is speaking of those who have the capability to do things "on their own" but are unwilling to do so. Clearly, the Iraqis were unable to organize an overthrow of Saddam, as was demonstrated after the Gulf War in 1991.

those who belong to this organization designed to stand against anything they like it is thier freedom, one which we fight to protect. but i will say this if we had not gone to other countries to do harm to our enemies you make be speaking german or russian right now. and as for naive people in school, hey theres a reason they are naive, its your schools. go protest to get better teachers. we dont have to worry about killing people in my line of business, hell the kids of columbine and such other schools are experts at it. but as an 8 year active duty Marine, i really enjoy not having to worry about how to pay the bills. why dont some of you stay in school and learn something to better yourselves. maybe you can do more than fry burgers or fries, actually keep doing that, i like fries.
you disgust me, and actually you can be shut down by the FBI for speaking violently against the government or our country.

Let the killing of American youth and the final transformation of the constitutional republic into a fascist police state begin.

I too am ex-military (USMC, 6600, 1980-1984), and was proud to serve in the defense of my country. I find it disgusting that these fuckwads have no love for American democracy. For that reason, I have joined KOBE in the fight against anarchists, seditionists, and anti-American activities in general.
Our government is only now taking steps to do what we have been doing for two years. The Bureau of Homeland Security, the new Special Units of the FBI, and the CIA are coming up to speed in this effort. At no time will KOBE ever interfere with the operations of those agencies. Wherever possible, we will assist in every way possible within legal means. THIS IS CYBER WAR. There are definite boundaries being set, and it is taking the same shape as the real world which it reflects.

your actions should be commended, but think about your actions. what your doing is in a way technically a form of terorist action. we have many freedoms but to abuse them IN YOUR NAME is rediculous.
just because your against it doesnt mean everybody else is. others have a choice. dont make a decision for others. keep your comments to yourself. if others will follow then fine. more power ro you. think a bout this. sept.11 was a great tradgedy, what if it were to happen everyday of our lives here on our own soil like it does there? would you like that? people there get hurt or killed everyday for doing less than what your doing. you dont have to join, just let the recruiters do their jobs and you keep getting your education. you dont have to listen. let others listen that want to. walk outs by the way are not the way to go. your just finding an excuse to ditch. also it doesnt reflect good on your education or others.

Do you know what I love the most about life ??? I love waking up in the morning and putting on my Navy uniform, just like my father had done before me during the Vietnam War. I love riding the commuter rail to work and feel good watching all of the faces on the train (especially the young children) and know that I am keeping them safe every day. I love my job, I love my country and I am against any country or organization that wants to fly a 757 f***in' train into one of my landmarks and kill over 3,000 of my fellow brothers and sisters, or any country that supports those who do. I do this because I love my country and I do this because I love my freedom and I love all of my neighbors and respect their freedoms as well. God bless America and you have two options if you dont want to be "recruited" or "Belittled" or whatever you want to call it.....LOVE IT OR FUCKING LEAVE IT !!!!! Dont do me any favors taking up space exercising your right to peaceful protect and being hipocrits by using the same very rights that people like me and over a million other fighting americans all over the world give to you. I was NEVER contacted by a recruiter and am not recieving any financial aid from our government. I am joining becouse I love my country and my freedoms and never want to see another one of my countrymen die in a terrorist attack.
Whether you like it or not we are the worlds policemen. We found out fifty years ago that we cannot ignore the world around us. As long as there are still people out there planning how they are going to murder more Americans it is our duty to be out there, to defend our country, our way of life, and freedom.
I will say that if I see any of you on my campus you will be driven off.
Maybe more people should spend less time abusing their freedoms and more time thinking about how grateful they are to have it. Maybe these same people should figure out a better way to solve the worlds problems.

For those who talk trash at our beloved military, send letters to your congress person, make petitions, speak your mind, but don't take your anger out on the solidiers. We are in threat every day by people who want to hurt us. So until I see one of you in front of a U.S Embassy, protecting your freedom to live how you wish, your right to complain about us, I hope you do not disrespect us solidiers. I love serving our country and I love being a part of something that is bigger than myself working for everyone.
