Just one thing

The USA Patriot ACT wasn't passed during January 2001.

Another thing....

by ca Monday, Aug. 11, 2003 at 10:46 AM

It happened on Jan. 24, 2002 (not 2001). If Charles Amsellem is so sloppy at something as simple-minded as getting the date right, what other convienient "facts" has he left out, and/or what has he twisted in order to fit his own political agenda?

And this fuckhead is one of the original clan of LA-IMCers. No wonder nothing ever gets done right.

Freedom of speech anyone?

by Dexter_X Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003 at 5:57 AM

The point many people seem to be missing is that the fact that Sherman Austin was even charged with a crime is a clear violation to our constitutional right of Freedom of Speech. Regardless of whether you agree or disagree with Sherman Austin's political beliefs, this was a violation of his right to freedom of speech.

To say "Ya, he should be in jail for what he did" just because you disagree with his political beliefs is insane. That's about as "Un-american" as you can get. Saying that someone deserves to go to jail based on their political beliefs. Want to know what else is un-american? That statement "Love it or leave it" telling people who disagree with the US government to leave it if they don't like it. What if our founding fathers had done that? What if they said.. Hey..ya know what..it sucks over here..rather than work for a change we should just say screw it and leave.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

A violation of his right to freedom of speech

by free speech Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003 at 6:14 AM

To some, this constitutes Freedom of Speech

---------------------------------------------------

The FBI searched the defendant's home. What did they find there? They found explosives. They found M-80s. They found remote control detonating devices. Again, these are items that have no legitimate purpose. They found bottles, over sixty bottles. They found the Molotov cocktails I mentioned.

"We don't gather weapons, plan extreme operation, and risk our lives for nothing. This is real."

Why did they warn agents of the secret service? Because the defendant made threats against the president inside a web site. He had a picture of the president of the United States with a target symbol on his head, and said, “Wanted: Dead or Alive.”

Detonating devices?

by Dexter_X Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003 at 7:29 AM

Ok..come on now... M-80's? Give me a freakin break... can you imagine if they arrested everyone who had M-80's? Shit I blew up some M-80's last year around the 4th of July, just because I had some old ones left over.

Second..if you searched my home right now you'd probably find around 60+ bottles also. Its called "Recycling". There are probably about 15 or so at my computer desk right now.

I bet if we searched your house we'd find the components needed to make a Molotov Cocktail... Give it a rest...that whole thing about the Molotov Cocktail is nothing more than a bunch of BS.

Now..remote detonating devices? I don't remember reading anything about that..so I'm not sure where you got that.. If he had all these "bombs" and "remote detonating devices" laying around why wasn't he charged with that? He wasn't. What happened with Innocent until proven guilty? Hmmm? You assume all that BS is true and say he's guilty yet he was never charged with any of that. The charge brought against him was for distributing information that had to do with explosives.

http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/18/842.html

What he was charged with is definately a freedom of speech issue. That law should never have been passed and should be thrown out as unconstitutional immediately.

Sherman: A Gentle Caring Soul

by bs Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003 at 8:06 AM

"I bet if we searched your house we'd find the components needed to make a Molotov Cocktail... Give it a rest...that whole thing about the Molotov Cocktail is nothing more than a bunch of BS."

THE COURT: Were there completed Molotov cocktails found?

12 MR. HOU: There were two Molotov cocktails that were in various states of finality. There was one which actually had the wick in it, I understand, from the FBI agent, and it was tested. The materials were tested to determine what was inside, and it was later determined -- the FBI determined that it did contain etroleum products.

The FBI agents asked the defendant at that time whether it contained petroleum products, whether it was, in fact, a Molotov cocktail, and he denied it.

That's just my opinion? No, its called the Constitution. Perhaps you should read it sometime.

"That's just my opinion? No, its called the Constitution. Perhaps you should read it sometime"

Let me rephrase. It's your opinion of the intrepretation of the Constitution. Fortunately for all of us, your intrepretation is irrelevant.

Let me repeat. Fortunately, for the safety of all Americans, the laws are written and enforced against militant hoodlums like Sherman, and people who hold the same opinions as you are rightfully discarded from the debate.

Intrepretation

by Dexter_X Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003 at 10:26 AM

Ok then what's your intrepretation of the following:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

It seems pretty straight forward to me.. It also seems fairly obvious that your interpretation would be "Freedom of speech for anyone that agrees with my politics, and everyone else is a hoodlum and can go straight to jail"

What happens when YOUR political beliefs are no longer the same as our governments hmmm? I bet once you were tossed in jail for expressing your political beliefs you'd be screaming "Freedom of Speech" at the top of your lungs.

I really am curious though..please reply with what you think the first amendment means...

Since you've already taken it upon yourself to decide what I believe, why don't you just continue. You don't really need me to help you do that.

And, since you are obviously an expert on Constitutional Law, you need to do Sheman a favor and let him know you'll be his attorney. Tell him to dump those other know-nothings. You're the smart one.

"molotov coctale"

by rtf Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003 at 9:33 PM

"12 MR. HOU: There were two Molotov cocktails that were in various states of finality. There was one which actually had the wick in it"

Is this an actual quote from a hearing transcript or was this made up? This actually sounds famaliar from the bail hearing in New York where the FBI called me a "man on a mission" and said I drove 3,000 miles to carry out my alledged plot of mass destruction. They also read false quotes in which they accused me of posting on my site such as "YEAH MOTHER FUCKER U'MA TERRORIST!". The judge denied me bail because he said I was a "threat to the community". 13 days later I was released. Some "threat" I was. huh.

Do you really think if the FBI agents found a molotov coctale with a wick in a state of finality that they would decide not to charge me with it? A molotov coctale, with a wick in it, in a state of "finality" constitues as an incidinary device. (aka unregisted firearm). This is a MUCH easier charge to stick someone with than "posting with intent". Not to mention an unregisted firearm charge carries more time.

The quotes from the FBI in New York are bullshit. They literarly stood there and talked out of their asses to try and make me look like some crazy militia terrorist person. Heh, some "terrorist" i was to be released 13 days later without any charges and put on a plane back to Los Angeles.

Sick of you leftist cry babies

by Independant (person who thinks for himself) Saturday, Sep. 06, 2003 at 7:05 AM

What part of "and to petition the government for a redress of grievances" don't you understand, left-wing ee-dee-uts.

I'll tell you what it DOESN'T mean: It doesn't mean insighting people to riot and attack law enforcement people that protect your right to safety as well as everybody elses'. Your "freedom of speech" that is protected by the constitution doesn't allow you to use the mass media or the internet to recruit fruit cakes such as yourself to try to overthrow the government through violence.

Get a grip. I'm as much for freedom of speech as you are. But you have to realize that there's a big difference between expressing your views and expressing your desire to conspire with others to attack the government. In case you haven't noticed, we're in a War on Terrorism.

What would you be saying about the FBI or Secret Service if they didn't arrest people like him and they ended up blowing up a building with your family members inside (for the cause)? Are you one of those Monday morning quarterbacks that blamed the FBI for the 9/11 attacks? Think about it, assholes. I would be the first to get upset if this was some government abuse of power.

Anybody want to pull the race card? Maybe that would help? Wake up people! Think before you act. If you want to affect change. Work the system. If you want to fight the system, you're going to need alot more power than some dumb-ass dope head fanatical Bob Marley wannabe. Peace mon. We be jammin!
