ignorant anarchists need to stop now...please

Well I just came back from a musical event from casa de pueblo, some form of new activist community center which showed a great deal of ignorance and close minded young anarchists that worked there. Nor did it seem like a community center but more of an art gallery with ezln merchandise. This problem made me quite disappointed with venue and with the people that worked there. The boiling point I guess was a one man band with a clearly joking homosexual stage show who had “pussy” and “bitch” in his lyrics which I don’t enjoy men nor women saying at all, but this man was clearly playing around and even added that they were metaphors for men and he did not mean any of it. The kids cut the power saying he is not respecting the community center and they said the rest of the show could not go on (without knowing anything about how the rest of the bands sounded, performed or anything). This was just pure ignorance and horribly immature. After they were done yelling “fuckin yuppies” or “hipsters” at the crowd (which seemed to fuel the shutting down of the show more then anything) I tried talking to them telling them that the next bands after this were no where near the musical or performance styles of the last act. They did not change their mind nor opened it to the bands performing. Now I am not specifically complaining about the casa de pueblo situation but the anarchist that have politics stuck so far up their ass that they cannot see a joke or have fun outside a “politically correct” setting. As an anarchist myself it disgusts me to see the close mindedness of fellow anarchist or “revolutionaries”. Nothing will ever be changed with such attitudes as this and no one will ever relate if only a certain type of people are only allowed to. That night it did not seem like a community center but there center. It did not seem like an open-minded consensus decision but a “get the fuck out of here hipsters”. There is way more to life then to forcing people to be “politically correct” and not having enough humor or an opened mind to see that not everyone is going to fit into the perfect revolutionary. There is humor and comedy and people that might say things that you disagree with and that is fine, do what you will. But to shut down the rest of the show with bands who have traveled and fans who have paid there own money is not right. There was no community there nor personal freedom. If this is the way activists community centers are going to be runned I am disgusted to be apart of this and disgusted to be fighting with anarchist who set a “my way or no way” attitude over people visiting. To all anarchists/activists out there… pull the politics out your ass and enjoy life! Fight for the better and don’t give up but open your mind to people who might not be the same as us and give them fucking breathing room, or else we will go nowhere. Well my two cents eh?
