1,401,285 for Recall of Gov Davis

by yup Saturday, Jul. 12, 2003 at 10:58 PM

1,401,285 signatures as of 7/12/03 have been collected to recall the worst governor in California's history, Gov. Davis, who has cost the taxpayers millions of dollars to pay for prison-concentration camps, the death penalty and private power.

1,401,285 signatures as of 7/12/03 have been collected to recall the worst governor in California's history, Gov. Davis, who has cost the taxpayers millions of dollars to pay for prison-concentration camps, the death penalty and private power.

While we wait for this milestone in California history to become official with either a November or March election date, despite the illegal obstruction tactics of the highly partisan Secretary of State, Kevin Shelley, we can prepare responses to the lies.

It is Gov. Davis, not the recall, that is costing the taxpayers the greater amount, by far. Prisons, the death penalty and bailout of bankrupt private power companies like PG&E cost billions and destroy human lives. The education budget, and all social service budgets, can only be saved and increased by abolishing the death penalty, abolishing prisons and establishing public power.

The issue is money, not the political crumbs in the form of appointments for various lackeys who do nothing to challenge the existence of the prison budget, the death penalty or private power.

It makes no difference if it the recall election is on the November or March ballot as the issue is the economy. In fact, the March ballot will come when the economy is in even worse trouble than now, as there is no program at the state or national level to reverse the current Great Depression, which is becoming worse daily.

In addition to the economy, the primary motivation for most of the people signing the petition to recall, there are all the injustices, insults and outrages we all experience in dealing with all levels of government that only vary with our occupation, that also compelled us to sign the recall petition. Whether we deal with the courts, the police, elected representatives, government agencies or any other aspect of the state government, we witness the waste of our tax dollars and the contempt for all of us, especially the workingclass, by the whole rotten system.

As to replacements, if there is no socialist running, we can just vote for the recall. I expect there will be a socialist running. If you prefer any other candidate for governor, you can vote for that candidate. We know that any Democrat or Republican replacing Gray Davis will be just as despicable as he is, and when they take office, we will protest his or her politics, the same as we protest the politics of Gray Davis.

This recall is an excellent means of sending the Democrats the message that we do not need or want two capitalist parties; one is bad enough. It also sends a clear message that you cannot claim to represent the workingclass while promoting anti-workingclass weapons like the death penalty and prison-concentration camps, and exploitation of the workingclass, namely private power.

This is a moment in history that an entire generation has waited for. We recall the 1964 Democratic Convention when the Democrats refused to seat the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party, led by Fannie Lou Hamer, instead of the illegal, white segregationist regular Mississippi Democratic Party delegation. We certainly remember that good Democrat Pres. Lyndon Baines Johnson and his murder of 3 million Vietnamese, millions of Cambodians and 58,000 Americans. We also have our local organized crime, fascist anti-workingclass, election-frauding thugs like "mayor" Willie Brown of San Francisco, a lifelong good Democrat, and his political twin and lifelong good Democrat now claiming to be "independent," mayor Jerry Brown of Oakland. See http://www.brasshcheck.com/stadium and http://www.brasscheck.com/jonestown

In hard economic times, the chickens come home to roost. Now that capitalism has no more crumbs to toss to some sectors of the workingclass, the true nature of the Democratic Party is revealed in the form of its utterly reactionary choice for governor, Gray Davis.

The recall signatures are the shaking fist of the people of California who are all fired up and not about to take any more insults from Gov. Gray Davis. We flexed our political muscle, and the fight has only just begun.

vote socialist????

by voter Sunday, Jul. 13, 2003 at 4:41 AM

"As to replacements, if there is no socialist running, we can just vote for the recall. I expect there will be a socialist running."

It's socialism and California's social entitlement programs that's got the State into this mess. Vote Socialist? How is throwing gas on the fire going to put it out?

What a laugh

by Bush Admirer Sunday, Jul. 13, 2003 at 5:14 AM

The author above is completely nuts.

A few of my favorite lunatic quotes from the article:

"The education budget, and all social service budgets, can only be saved and increased by abolishing the death penalty, abolishing prisons and establishing public power. "

There is no death penalty in California. When was the last execution. The lame 9th Circuit Court continues to interfere with justice. The DP should not be abolished, it should be expedited. And this clown wants to eliminate prisons??? That's truly weird. And he wants the government to run our power indusry? Geez, when has the government ever run anything efficiently. That would be a first.

" As to replacements, if there is no socialist running"

Geez, this clown really wants to make a much bigger mess of things in California. And his delusion that there is no difference between Democrats and Republicans is ludicrous. Democrats are lowlifes beholding to the worst special interests in our society (organized labor, Jesse Jackson, trial lawyers, etc.). Republicans are California's salvation though it will take them a while to clean up the Gray Davis mess.

"This recall is an excellent means of sending the Democrats the message that we do not need or want two capitalist parties; one is bad enough."

Wrong! The message is that Gray Davis and his Democrats have gone too far in the direction of Socialism and the state is just about bankrupt as a result. It's time for fiscal responsibility and adult supervision in Sacramento, and that means a Republican administration.

Onward with the recall.

BA you are too rich.

by Diogenes Sunday, Jul. 13, 2003 at 5:34 AM

As though the Republicons are not in thrall to, and a wholly owned subsidiary of, the Oil Industry, Pharmaceutical Industry, Defense Industry, and every other Big Business John that will pay for the evening.

What you have with Demoncrats and Republicons is 2 sides of the same Coin. They make a respectable Hooker look genteel and giving by Comparison. All either one is doing, or appears to want to do, is to reach as far into the Citizenry's pocket as they can force their way. They just spend it to buy different constituencies.

I am not a fan of Government owned businesses as they tend to be inefficiently run and pay more attention to their own needs than those of the people they are allegedly serving. There are exceptions but as a general rule I think this holds..

However Gray Dufus has got to go. He makes other Politicians look honest by comparison.

"Yup" Contradiction

by 7 Sunday, Jul. 13, 2003 at 8:56 AM

what exactly do we call this rant?

*yup* makes a general call for *socialists* on the ballot, but yup's anti-tax, antigovernment street corner ranting sounds distinctly republican--or further right-- libertarian. at least this explains why the mob appeal ranting sliced up democratic politicians for the feed trough.

(*yup* use many sneaky polarizing tactics, yup.)

GRAY SUCKS

by Andrea Urbas Friday, Aug. 08, 2003 at 8:49 AM

How can anyone in their right mind want Gray Davis to remain in office? This is not about Republicans or Democrats--it is about a guy who CANNOT do his job! If any of us performed like davis at our work, we would be FIRED! Just because you were elected (and only by a narrow margin) doesn't mean you cannot be fired.
