Jews For the Preservation of Firearms

by judith mpls Monday, Jul. 07, 2003 at 1:05 PM

Jews For the Preservation of Firearms - Hitler couldn't have gotten them without taking away their guns first.

The Liberals want to take away your guns, so they can steal more of your land and hard-earned money. Liberals are nothing but parasites - that live off the money that the real producers make. They are working for the State, sit around figuring out more ways to steal more of your money. If you disagree with them, they will kill you (Ron Brown, etc.). They are very immoral, intolerant, ignorant, nonrational and Hitler-like. They are emotional, not reasonable. And they will go after you their dying day if you reveal them (Waco).

Firearms prevent tyranny?

by Meyer London Monday, Jul. 07, 2003 at 7:14 PM

The idea that private individuals owing small arms can prevent a modern state from imposing tyranny is ludicrous. Plenty of working people had firearms in 1973 when the coup came down in Chile, yet nothing could be done against a military equipped with US supplied tanks, heavy machine guns, cannon, aircraft and armored personnel carriers. Similarly, the Iraqi military, largely equipped with small arms and hopelessly outdated and badly maintained heavy arms, could do little to stop the imperialist invasion of their country by the pirates Bush and Blair. The only way to smash fascism is to win the soldiers (almost all of whom in every country will be from working class or poor agricultural families) over to the side of revolution. Another solution is gureilla war, where expensive, heavy arms don't mean so much. That is what is going on in Iraq right now. But even there the insurgents are largely using military grade small arms, not the kind of thing you can buy in the sporting goods department of a department store.

Meyer - Wake up

by BushAdmirer Monday, Jul. 07, 2003 at 7:18 PM

Meyer - the 1973 coup was the best thing that ever happened to Chile.

They rid themselves of Salvador Allende and set the country up for economic progress. As a result, they have the leading economy in Latin America.

Had Allende remained in power, they'd be like Cuba today and the people would be destitute.

The Coup against Allende worked only because...

by Diogenes Monday, Jul. 07, 2003 at 8:32 PM

...the Generals had the covert backing of the U.S. Government via the Cocaine Importing Agency (CIA). Chile's Government would have collapsed anyway as the Socialist Policies of Allende were destroying the Economy - 200% Inflation being one of the giveaways. That does not mean I agree with B.A.'s point that backing the Coup was a good thing - it resulted in a reign of terror that lasted years and took an enormus number of innocent lives.

I recall when I read Phillip Agee's "Inside the Company - A CIA Diary" that I was struck by the massive, deadly, incompetence of the CIA.

As for firearms they are a threat only to tyrants. Time and Time again when honest studies are done the correalation between guns and crime are inverse i.e., the higher the number of guns owned by ordinary Citizens the lower the Crime Rate.

They do offer an indirect threat to Politicians. An armed and angry populace may not be able to take on a Military Force but they can damn well take out an "uppity" Politician. That's what they are afraid of.

now wait a sec, por favor...

by Sheepdog Tuesday, Jul. 08, 2003 at 4:21 AM

I don't believe in taking out politicians with anything but

loss of consent. It's their masters that are vulnerable to

assassination or intimidation. (we call it extortion here in the real world) That and kidnapping are often used in asymmetrical warfare.

As for guns; the bigger, the better.

I believe in SELF PROTECTION.

And plenty of it, located with its ammo and cleaning stuff

in good places stored properly, of course. Like near other metal stuff, perhaps water pipes.

Meyer is correct about building bridges IMO and we should also be concerned about psychopathic police/military if we don’t.

To me force is a last resort. but necessary sometimes if you are prepared to die for your actions. Also, anybody near you. Think about it.
