As in Los Angeles... so in Iraq. LAPD Police Officers train "reformed" Iraqi Policemen (the same Police who served Saddam), in the fine arts of crowd control.

Those photos look like some nightmare scene out of a James Ellroy novel. What are these clowns from LA training the Iraqis to do - shake down drug dealers and pimps? Beat up trouble-makers? Get free services and goods from small businesses? Keep the lower classes out of affuent neighborhoods? Don't they know that the Iraqis already have these skills?

...you'd like the Iraqi police to go back to their old ways of doing business...you know, torture, raping, beating, etc.

We're teaching them all of that. We're showing them the American way to deal with protestors. Use 'em for target practice! The Iraqi fuzz also seem to like our doughnuts.

If the Iraqi police did go back to "torture, raping, murder" then they wouldn't be any different than the LAPD, with the exception that the Iraqi police don't plant drugs on people (a plus for them).
There really wont be any f#$king different between the two now that the US forces are reinstalling members of Saddam's Baath party into public official positions.
...and still no WMDS ...still no Saddam
the us occupation of iraq is a joke, but unfortunately not for the Iraqi citizens who suffer.

i saw the story of the LAPD training Iraqi police on l.a.'s local television news station, channel 9.
channel 9 showed a video tape of the Iraqi training sessions to a Sgt of the LAPD here in L.A. While the officers said he was "proud" of his fellow officers in Iraq... he was also a bit shocked at their methods. The LAPD cops are training the Iraqis... not with clubs, tear gas, or rubber bullet guns... but with AK 47 rifles.
The video tape from Iraq shows LAPD members showing Iraqi police how to strike people using their AK's. Lessons on "jabbing" people using the barrel of the AK are also on tape.
The LAPD is well known for it's willingness to use force against demonstrators, but they are NOT carrying fully automatic AK 47s in breaking up protests (at least not yet). The "training" currently being provided to Saddam's ex-Police force is the type that will result in death and severe injury. There is NO instruction in the use of so-called "non lethal" weapons

...is the type that will result in death and severe injury because the protestors in Iraq are are probably more than willing to use deadly force themselves.
Don't confuse "protestor" with "peaceful".

Unsubstantiated allegation.
