Countdown to Recall Gray Davis

by California Voter Monday, Apr. 21, 2003 at 10:14 PM

The Countdown to Recall Gray Davis has begun as 6% or 55,357 out of 898,157 petitions have been completed and the desired deadline is the 4th of July while the legal deadline is Sept 2, the day after Labor Day.

The Countdown to Recall Gray Davis has begun as 6% or 55,357 out of 898,157 petitions have been completed and the desired deadline is the 4th of July while the legal deadline is Sept 2, the day after Labor Day.

The Goodbye Gray Davis train is filling up fast, so grab your car and fill it with your party because the recall campaign does not run candidates; the parties will have to do that, and we want the day after Election Day, Wednesday November 5, to be a victory for the workingclass, which means we expect to see workingclass candidates on that ballot.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 4, 2003.

At least one member of the workingclass knows how to fight, and is finding lots of support in a Democratic Party stronghold, Yuba City. According to the Appeal-Democrat.com of Yuba City-Marysville, dated 4/16/03, one schoolteacher, Mark Cruzon, who just received his layoff notice, realized:

"I just put my foot down and said ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I figured if he can take action against me, I can take action against him."

See: http://www.appeal-democrat.com/archive/2003/041603/41603dlwrecall.shtml

The Goodbye Gray Davis train has piles of logs to keep its steam engine going, blowing that whistle as it delivers petition circulators to the 58 counties of California. The logs are labeled:

(1) Declining Economy, always good for getting rid of incumbents. These kinds of logs increase geometrically everytime any public entity's budget is approved now in California, as they all reflect cutbacks in social services, health care, public transportatoin and education desperately needed by the workingclass.

(2) Prison-Industrial Complex. These have the Nazi swastika on them, reminding us that the deadly prisons actively promoted by Gray Davis and the Democrat-Republicans, are now death camps, and Davis plans to make it official with a large death camp at San Quentin.

(3) Death Penalty. This anachronism that harks back to slavery and feudalism and is always a tool of terrorizing the workingclass, used with increasing frequency in hard times against the workingclass and its leaders, is proudly supported by Gray Davis and his Democrat-Republican Party, demonstrating how backward the US is. Europe has now abolished the death penalty, but where labor is weak, as in the USA, the death penalty is used with increasing frequency. The death penalty will be abolished when labor fights back, and the time to fight is now, while we are alive to do so.

(4) Private Power-Bankrupt PG&E. Gray Davis sold his "soul" to the company store, namely PG&E, Southern Cal Edision and San Diego Gas & Electric, to paraphrase the coal miner's song, "Sixteen Tons." Now is the hour for public power, which Los Angeles and many other cities already have. There is an effort being made to declare the agreements Davis made with the power companies null and void as they were certainly made under duress and false pretenses (lies). We must go one step further and demand a statewide public power agency. It is ludicrous to place gas and lights in the hands of any profit-making racket as our very survival depends on adequate power supply for all.

(5) Decreased Progressive Income Tax of the Rich and Increased Sales and Services Taxes. Those who make over $100,000 a year can easily afford to pay more income taxes on all income received, including salary, dividends, bonuses, rent, inheritance and all other income. Yet the income taxes on the rich have been cut, while the regressive anti-workingclass sales and services taxes have increased. That must be reversed.

As we step on board the Goodbye Gray Davis train, we affirm our commitment with:
"They say cutback;
We say FIGHT BACK!"

The workingclass cars on the Goodbye Gray Davis train rock with the chant:
"We remember Hiroshima,
We remember Vietnam,
Democratic Party,
WE KNOW WHICH SIDE YOU'RE ON!"

All aboard!

I wish everyone would help to the efforts of getting Gray Davis out of office. We only need 400,000 more signatures for the ballot. After he's gone, trust me, Life will be way better. Think about this! If you have kids going away to college, YOU WILL BE PAYING MORE! Yep, cause of him. Driving, YEP, more money! THANKS GRAY DAVIS for being a Jerk!
