*** “On November 18, 1978, more than 900 people allegedly committed suicide in Jonestown, leaving over 200 more people unaccounted for to this day as 1100 passports had been issued to temple members to travel to Guyana. officials later stated to the press that only 900 passports had been issued. of those 900 individuals, over two-thirds of them were either shot, strangled or showed injection or puncture marks on their bodies.
